My father made a good point to me today, why haven't there been any original movies since Inception? It was the last movie with an original idea ever made. Everything since then has just been sequels and retreads.

My father used to rape me.
I miss his stout cock.
Looper. However it was hot garbage.
edge of tomorrow
14.5 social credit point deduc from u accont gweilo betta watch it ok sing pao
>original
>comparing cartoons to motion pictures
why
Because i can
It's a manga adaptation.
>too stupid to understand incepcion stole from paprika
american education i bet.
because it's easier to make cookie cutter (mostly capeshit) movies AND they print billions.
from this year alone:
parasite
midsommar
pain and glory
us
piranhas
last black man in san fran
all original, some very creative
Edge of Tomorrow was an adaptation of All You Need Is Kill. I would point more toward Tarantino, Peele, Anderson, and McDonagh
None of those pictures look anything like one another and have completely dissimilar contexts. Are you by chance on the spectrum?
Movies about black people aren't original, also who gives a shit lol.
Original? Its the fucking groundhogs day plot that is rehashed every fucking year you dirty jap
I know how that feels man I lost my mom way too young
whenever I see people talk about their parents it makes me sad
I also sometimes see random people who look like her, it's really weird
Good for you.
I don't watch children's cartoons.
>It was the last movie with an original idea ever made.
>forgetting Interstellar
I never watched Interstellar but I heard it ripped off Gunbuster/Aim for the Top.
Nolan copied a Donald Duck story though
>original
hmmm
Hurrdurrr, Inception is based on Paprika.
>Edge of Tomorrow was an adaptation of All You Need Is Kill
Which, in turn, was an adaptation of Groundhog Day.
It's actually about the "choice" directors are being given of switching shooting digital vs continuing to shoot on film, and as that it's pretty frigging genius.
The surface story's not bad either, and it's deceptively simply shot. But it's a film director's sad goodbye to shooting movies on film reels, with maybe a hint of hope that something can save it.
Escape Plan
It was shit
>I also sometimes see random people who look like her, it's really weird
I'll say it for him. Simmer down, incel.
So it's an allegory?
can you elaborate on that because I did not pick up on it when I watched
Django? Or did Tarantino 'pay homage' again?
Inception was cool stylistically but the concept was fucking dumb hurr durr I need stormtrooper tier dream security guards with M4s to try to kill intruders instead of just dropping a nuke on them because it's a fucking dream
Yea Forums is full of brainlets who didn't understand this movie.
>cartoons
>Nolan movies
Your image but this time I posted it.
The whole thing's an allegory on that. I mean, the spaceship is even shaped like a projector wheel
Someone's probably done a YouTube video on it
Your post but this time I posted it.
In case anyone's still here/interested, I found a YT that explains it all pretty well
>Interstellar is about the death of film
>why haven't there been any original movies since Inception?
because everyone here thinks nothing is original
they basically they use the logic that every story is a derivative of an epic of gilgamesh
Original movies are a risk, movies are a business like any other, the people at the top would rather make money than good films.
At least you have a father worth missing. Mine is a pathetic man who is afraid of life and does nothing but his accounting job. I would trade him for the memory of a decent father immediately.
>I don't watch children's cartoons.
Keep your mouth shut about what you don't understand then
2001 ripoff
>Waiting over an hour to post your shitty comeback
Brave.
>father works hard all his life to give his son the best life he can
>angry at him for it
Maybe he gave up his dreams to make yours come true. Do you really think he wants that life? Being a man is about doing the things you don't want to do, not the things you do, give him some credit user
>COMPLICATED MOVIE GOOD
Paprika is rated R and specifically not a children's cartoons, also it is more specifically an anime .
Just come to thread friend, not the person you're replying to, but while we're on it
>refreshing the thread every few seconds for an hour waiting for someone to reply
>being proud you're too stupid to understand a Nolan movie
cool beans
>being a coward
>being a liar as well
He has no dreams, no friends, no hobbies. He works 80 hours a week because money is the only fatherly thing he is capable of providing. He was and is a poor role model who taught me nothing about life and I am entering the world woefully unprepared because of it. I find myself looking up to competent men, even ones younger than me, because I was never around one as a child.
>thinking there is any deeper meaning to a nolan movie
Literally one level above Michael Bay
Pussy
>he's done it again
Ghost story
based
a whole board just 4(you)
Sad cunt.
The saddest thing about this is that while inception had a good, original and interesting idea, the execution was still trademark soulless Nolan. I felt nothing while watching this movie.
What the fuck does the term "original idea" even mean? Every single director, writer, cinematographer etc has been influenced by somebody else's work in a significant enough way that a movie cannot be 100% original. The whole "movies now are just sequels and retreads" point makes no sense if you watch anything but blockbusters, too
Yep. And I mostly blame him.
just off the top of my head:
Primer
Eraserhead
Enter the Void
Dead Leaves
Holy Motors
F for Fake
Fury Road
Fury Road is literally the fourth in a series. I have never seen it but I would love to know how the frick it could be an original idea.
Sure but I can't think of any particular element that comes from somebody else's work other than just prior Mad Max movies.
There are a pair of vehicles that are a visual reference to a film called The Cars That Ate Paris but that's extremely minor.
But you watch children films, like Inception?
Miller was obviously inspired by other movies for Mad Max? This is from MM2's wikipedia page, you could've done even the tiniest amount of effort to find out what inspired the series
One of the most common things people in any artistic profession talk about is their inspirations and everybody has them. 100% originality is not worth pursuing because it's borderline impossible with how much media we consume from a young age
youtube.com
it's a remake of sorts
nolan is a fraud
You seriously didn't know there was a western called Django? That's why it's called Django Unchained, not just Django. The title presents itself as a sequel.
HAND TOUCH
GRIL STAND
GUY LIEING DOWN
GUY RUNNING
Holy fuck Midsommar is literally The Wicker Man
That lame Nicolas Cage flick?
Jesus Christ what a pleb you are
>INCEPTIONNNNN
because we're still in the dream
Super Dark Times
Donald Cried
Bone Tomahawk
Dragged Across Concrete
Brawl at Cell Block 99
Escape Room
The Highwaymen
Mandy
Don't Breathe
A Quiet Place
For not liking some shitty Nic Cage movie? Please.
>inception
>original
>2010
By that standard and logic then 2011 had
Hanna
Source Code
Another Earth
Tree Of Life
Your dad is dumb, and the apple hasn't fallen far.
Ungrateful.
You're a pleb for not knowing that it's a remake of one of the best and most influential horror films ever created
It's a remake of The Shining?
Don’t worry user I got u. Paprika came first
