High class of them to say which competing service to find the show on.
What do companies actually think they're going to accomplish by spreading everything so thin and still charging for it?
Who cares, The Office and Friends suck anyway.
Still cheaper than cable, which was an obvious scam people were willing to pay for for decades.
All the companies aren't "in it together". When they're all on Netflix it's Netflix minting. There's no collective consciousness where other companies beam proudly at Netflix's profits
You have 10 seconds to tell me why I shouldn't short Netflix with all my savings.
No idea why their price isn't moving and even going up. Dumb Wall Street doesn't realise this'll only get worse for Netflix as other companies splinter off.
>Who cares
Apparently Netflix considering they paid $100 million just to keep it on the service until the end of the year.
>Netflix essentially rejuvenates the value of syndication money, saving networks from the death of cable by paying them hundreds of millions for a year's worth of rights to their series
>Their profit model is obviously fucked but they don't care and will keep paying you every year
>Say fuck them and kill subscription streaming forever
Once Disney+ drops streaming will die. If you wanna see something even worse Google Quibi. The golden age is over boys.
God I love having BTN, PTP and RED accounts.
Can't wait for Netflix to go bankrupt tbqh
>Quibi
>Founded by Jeffrey (((Katzenberg))) and Meg (((Whitman)))
EVERY SINGLE TIME
Friends is syndicated on so many local channels in my area.
I think it's one of the saddest shows in the sense that people actually aspire to live like them
>announcing you are losing something, at the same time doing an ad for your competitor
Who is behind netflix marketing?
Sneed
And?
It's more or less why not just make our own. Someone must have crunched the numbers and said we're going to make more than whatever we got paid from Netflix.
It's why Netflix has been giving just about anyone with a camera tv show because all the major third parties on their platform are pulling out.
80 percent of the most popular movies and shows are only available to rent through VOD or iTunes . The subscription of streaming services is just a Netflix shills narrative
>Quibi
>Jeffrey Katzenberg's Quibi to offer "snackable" movies on phones
Everything I hate in one single sentence. Nice.
>Who is behind netflix marketing?
More women than there should be.
No one is going to start paying for multiple stream subscriptions just to watch 1 show on each
>Netflix 2010
>Literally had the streaming world in the palm of their hands via licensing deals
>Basically on the verge of killing cable
>Netflix 2020
>Everyone and their mother launches their own streaming service for the low low price of 10 dollars
>Some company will come along and offer a package deal for 100 dollars (i.e. what everyone was trying to get away from)
>It either completely collapses upon itslef because theres so few shows you want to watch or retards eat it up
DONT CALL IT A GRAVE
nobody is forcing you to keep your subscriptions to these services, morons.
if one of them has shit you want to watch, buy it for a month and watch it and other stuff there and then cancel.
it's bazilion times easier and cheaper than renting or buyting and you still fucking whine...
Everything is going to end up getting bundled and it's going to be the same thing as cable TV packages are, but people will still be pretentious about it and proclaim themselves as cord cutters.
I pity anyone who subscribes to netflix and netflix like services.
But seriously, the popularity of netflix serves to show us the absolute state of our society, only people with low IQ, subscribe to netflix, amazon, etc, you have to be really dumb and stupid to even consider something like netflix.
If i buy a bluray, I can watch as many times as I want whenever I want without a subscription or internet connection (when the internet goes out or you lose signal or its buffering I'll still be watching my bluray no problem) Same goes for pirating but for free. Both of these are way better options than having multiple subscriptions
>Quibi to offer "snackable" movies on phones
just kill me now
where are we headed with this shit?
fucking SNACKABLE movies
holy shit
What does that even mean?
So they spent 1 billion dollars to keep it for like 6 months?
movies to chew on throughout the day
gotta have a screen in front of your face bro, or else youre missing out
it's just professionally made youtube videos with another name
piracy is piracy, but yeah, of course if you want to keep something, owning a bluray is better. i'm talking about just watching random shit that you would rent years ago
That's the problem with anything in life. From video games to Hollywood. They lauged at Netflix at the start but once it got rolling and they saw it worked, everyone else tried to copy the format unsuccessfully.
They'll encourage and blame piracy for this but services like Netflix, Amazon and Steam showed that people are willing to pay especially for convenience.
Piracy never went anywhere for patricians. I buy a physical copy of kinos I want a physical copy of and pirate everything that either doesn't have a physical copy or that I don't want a physical copy. I'm looking into starting my own company to give physical releases of kino and DRM free physical copies of PC games, I specifically want to give King of the Hill a complete series box set release on blu-ray but I'm having trouble talking to someone that can license me the IP to do so.
You shouldn't be willing to pay for digital distribution to begin with, either buy a physical copy or pirate. I have never and will never pay for digital distribution.
Paid digital distribution is communist - see Karl Marx' labor theory of value
>i'm talking about just watching random shit that you would rent years ago
pirate, paying for digital distribution cannot be justified
why are they giving Warner free advertising?
It's over for zoomers
>You want to watch the Office? Don't worry, I have all nine seasons downloaded
moms bending over to put another DVD into the DVD player is the patriarchy trying to get them to conform!
>You want to watch the Office? Don't worry, I have the first five seasons downloaded
Valve has done more damage to gaming than any other company by normalizing and popularizing digital distribution, it comes with so many negatives. They used literal brainwashing to push it.
Piracy is more convenient, only time it isn't is when the game is sabotaged to make it that way such as making MP require Steam servers instead of being p2p or letting people make their own servers.
A download is worth $0, even $1 is way too much. We went from paying $50 max on PC for a physical copy that was better than today's collector's edition to paying for a fucking download through some shitty platform being the only legal option and lot of other negatives practices are now rampant because of digital distribution such as rampant DLC and mtx and games intentionally being released unfinished or unplayable without a patch because they can patch it through whatever platform which only further encourages games to be released that way. Low cost =/= cheap or a good deal, games are more expensive than ever when you take into consideration you get nothing in return for your money, paying for digital is nothing more than giving a donation to a company and they don't even have the decency to admit it to you pay pigs. Using your logic a restaurant charging $5 for a sip of water is cheap because it is only $5 even though all you get is a sip of water.
Get that corporate cock out of your mouth.
Why do we consume so much media anyway? There are better things to do with our time.
Think of it this way:
>STREAMING
Let's say $10/month. Realistically, how long are you going to keep your subscription for? Five years? In five years, you just spend $600 on something you don't even own. In ten years, it's $1200.
>PHYSICAL
If you're a Criterionfag, then you're obviously going to be spending more than average, but you can buy a lot of titles for like $10ish. Assuming we're going to spend the same amount on streaming as we would on physical, in 10 years you can have a library of over 100 titles that you actually physically own. You can even use MakeMKV to archive your library digitally in the highest possible fidelity. None of the compression and artifacts you see with streaming or shitty torrents.
>TORRENTS
Hypothetically the best option, but it's usually a mixed bag. Typically, the files are fairly compressed and sometimes you have to deal with missing audio tracks or subtitles. It can get annoying. Also, for more obscure stuff, it's nearly impossible to find certain titles. That's why the boutique labels like Criterion and Arrow have such a cult following.
It's easy, readily available, let's you escape your life, and gives you a quick reward. Shit is fucked up.
Bread and circuses. Also, Pavlovian conditioning and propaganda. Look into Edward Bernays.
The pigs can use whatever exercise they can get
>what you still use physical copies???
>*pays for a bit starved stream that doesn't even have the quality of what a DVD can provide, let alone blu-ray or 4k UHD blu-ray, let alone the several discs that were in development that could hold over 1tb such as Tapestry Media by Inphase Technologies*
for me it's
>torrent for everything
>additionally digital copy for the rare movie that becomes one of my favorites
Do you find that a lot of torrents have a lower volume audio track? is that due to compression ? or the fact I am playing off a thumb drive on my tv.
Yeah but that requires me to go outside and possibly even interact with other people.
>or the fact I am playing off a thumb drive on my tv
based, I do this too
one of the TVs only plays mp4 and the other plays most mkvs, I'll have to buy one of those boxes one day
This. Thinking of buying a pellet and hunting iguanas here in Florida.
It won't drop until subscriptions do. So you need to know what their sub numbers are, so only the ones with insider knowledge will know when to short properly.
Pellet gun*
Only cucks pay for Netflix anyway. Real men pirate everything.
Why would I pay for shit I can find for free on the internet anyway
>Imagine sitting down to watch a movie and only being able to watch eight minutes of it at a time. That is Hollywood veteran Jeffrey Katzenberg’s vision for the future of TV, although you won’t necessarily be sitting down. The streaming-video platform he is developing, called Quibi (for “quick bites”), is made to be watched on smartphones only, wherever and whenever you find moments during the day. It is slated to launch in April 2020.
Katzenberg believes that, as people spend more and more time on their smartphones, there’s an audience beyond platforms like YouTube for storytelling from top Hollywood talent that is more easily digestible during people’s busy lives. Many people don’t watch long-form content during the day and very little of it is consumed on a smartphone
Oh my fucking god, what the hell has this world come to, someone kill me now pleas
>Piracy is going no where my friends.
This unironically true. When netflix first launched, it looked like piracy was going to be significantly lowered to the point where only fringe outsiders would still bother
(Helped along with memes like netflix & chill)
But now, streaming services have become the tv/film equivalent of the console wars. Except it's cheaper and easier to not bother with any of them. (Unlike with videogames where you need a gaming pc or else have to just suffer)
Because you have to deal with retardation like black crushing and compression artifacts
thanks YIFY!
>piracy going no where
It's going to skyrocket In a few years.
I actually stopped pirating a few years back when I found Netflix.
Now that there are a bunch of "exclusive sites" and paywalls, I don't feel like giving away more than 60 USD per month on a service I may only watch one show on.
>inb4 binge then cancel
Fuck no, I don't want these services to bill me the cost of one month for using one week of their shitty app.
Since netflix is heavily in debt and, as far as anyone can tell, doesn't seem to care about making a profit; isn't it quite likely that netflix doesn't care about value and will spend lots of money without second thought?
It's over man.
Quibi is going to fail so hard. Remember Verizon go90?... Exactly.
>spending lots of money to set up a streaming service than to just license its content and not do any work
YIFY is really good these days.
In netflix's defence, they must have seen this happening early given the amount of money they've spent creating original content.
Their library (as in netflix produced) is staggeringly large in such a small amount of time. When it inevitable goes under, that library is going to be worth a shit ton
Fuck Netflix, but who is going to pay $15/month for all of these streaming services?
>You want to watch the Office? Don't worry, I hate plebs. You can leave now
>Their library (as in netflix produced) is staggeringly large in such a small amount of time. When it inevitable goes under, that library is going to be worth a shit ton
Not really. Most of it is absolute garbage. The only things that seem to have penetrated into the mainstream are Stranger Things and a few documentaries.
You massively underestimate it.
There is a lot of shit. But also a lot of gold. Take Sandler's films for example. There's a reason netflix keep funding them. Then there are actually good films scattered there too like Roma and Velvet Buzzsaw of recent.
And shows like Orange is the new Black and Narcos.
I miss Blockbuster

Netflix should just become a media aggregator like youtube but for movies
>keep monthly fee
>invite producers and companies to place their movies on the platform
>pay them a percentage based on viewers
>that library is going to be worth a shit ton
It would be if they were capable of sticking the landing for literally any of their shows. Stranger Things and House of Cards started out very strong, but they inevitably devolved into horseshit because Netflix has no finish. They just want to milk shit for as long as possible. Nobody wants to buy a Dexter box set because it turned into absolute shit. Same thing for every single Netflix original.
its really really easy
Now this is arguing
They stole his idea. He pioneered the concept of 10-second Internet sitcoms in 2007
>this is a real tweet
Who’s the retarded intern running their twitter?
Might as well be an ad for the competition
lmao imagine titanic officials going to the deck and telling everyone they'll be sinking in 30 minutes
Most of that content is worthless in sustaining viewers and gaining subscriptions. It goes big out of the gate because of their internet marketing but then it doesn't have any staying power afterwards. People will legit cancel their Netflix subscription over losing reruns of the office. Their original content isn't sustainable because it's not getting repeat viewings. That's why they are try to greenlit anything to find something sustainable.
LOL
Cable companies die and now we have to pay for cable and premium services.
I feel ripped off.
what the fuck were you expecting. the story takes place in new york.
I consume media while I do other things most people can only do one thing but I'm used to it so I can do two or even three things at a time. I've tested this and watched two movies at the same time as playing a video game
One day we will tell our grandchildren
>Yes dear, for a brief moment in time there was only 1 streaming service with all movies and TV shows on it
Sucks to see the Golden Age of streaming come to an end.
>Advertise where Friends is going and when
Most people are just going to get the Disney and WB service and drop netflix
>Golden Age
>streaming
Doesn't exist, there is nothing "Golden Age" about being charged for digital distribution
friends is better on dvd anyway, has all the scenes without the weird cuts due to certain syndications. and it's in 4:3 which was the intended aspect ratio for viewing.
>there was only 1 streaming service with all movies and TV shows on it
So you're going to lie to your grand children?
Most people with kids will get Disney
Netflix is still for cool wine aunts
Warner needs to keep up as the second big entertainment brand along with Disney
That requires them to have their own streaming service. That's the trend and they can't get stuck giving shit to Netflix
its a propaganda arm. it's not there to make money. money is there to make power.
I have 140+ IQ and I am a Netflix subscriber. Have sex.
Uh you don't get to bring Friends
>140+ IQ
>pays for digital distribution
>That's the trend and they can't get stuck giving shit to Netflix
Warner will wait for Disney to kill Netflix's value, then they'll buy them out
So one?
>Yes dear, for a brief moment in time there was only 1 streaming service with all movies and TV shows on it
>Wow, that sounds strange
>Sure does sweetie, hell, some retards even paid for it.
>Um, grandp- I mean person of experienced age, your language is not acceptable according to the Jewish Directive #5842, words such as "dear" and "sweetie" can be interpreted as sexist, and words such as "retard" are really offensive. I'm gonna have to report you to the reeducation administration for processing.
Congrats, you're conditioned even harder than most people.
They probably think they can drum up enough outrage to make Warner change their minds, not realising that people don't give a toss and will just switch to the single most appealing service.
Regain control of the distribution of their content.
Whatever drop in subscribers for streaming sites, whatever fracturing happens is insignificant compared to making sure that only they are distributing their own content.
>Florida man arrested for hunting Iguanas with wooden pallets
That's every company you know
I say good riddance. if you didn't watch the office or friends and paid for netflix then you were helping subsidize other people's viewing habits for 20 year old shows that cost an obscene amount of money to license.
I dunno. Morton Salt seems pretty based.
>implying someone has to take action for the jewish mitzvah bots to arrive at your door
What did they do again? I only know them from that one rule34 JLullaby did.
That's a real possibility and that might be the eventual plan
It all depends if Netflix's original stuff delivers, and it'll take more then ST to do so
Anyone know if 123movies will be affected by the upcoming streaming split?
>Netflix made this tweet because they know HBO Max is doomed to fail and Warner will come crawling back
Just download whatever show you want by the end of 2020. They are gonna hit hard on piracy and it will only get tougher to pirate things.
t. Government insider user
People work all day, as much as they want to do other things(instead of work), they want to relax after work. They can't not work a job because they need a house and food, and that new tech you seen the other day, and to visit other countries.
Netflix doesn't profit
Such as?
I already bought all my favorite tv shows, and movies in the early 2000s before streaming or downloading was a thing. Very few shows or movies have been released post 2005 that interests me. I don't need to pay to borrow someone else's unreliable/temporary movie and tv library. I have my own library, thanks.
Reminder that every company is moving to the Netflix subscription model, regardless of industry. You own nothing, goyim.
>every company is moving to the Netflix subscription model
Which would be?
And would Warner be profiting off this more then sticking with Netflix
Friends alone got $100 million a year for Warner to have it stream on Netflix
There were no other options with cable. Now piracy is easier than ever.
yeah they're fucked
iguanas are based, leave them alone
>the office
>friends
So... normie shows? Next you're going to tell me people are pissed The Big Bang Theory won't be coming to Jewflix.
I know women who would unironically use quibi
These subscription services are becoming cable. I'd be willing to wager that cable becomes cheaper, comparitively, in the long run when these services continue to multiply and has a brief resurgence
The only time I used Netflix was when one user gave me a hacked account, it lasted for three months. I didn't like it that much, because I was one of those who thought it could find anything on it, and got disappointed when I typed movies I wanted to watch and there was none, and how the library was weaker to movies from the 80's and below. If now all you can have is many services each weaker than the other, than I think there's just no reason to stop being a pirate.
I thought Stranger Things was popular
>!
Don't worry bros these shows that make up 20+% of their total viewership don't matter just keep greenlighting shitty flash cartoons and woke fat people comedy.
You think it's some kind of conspiracy but it's not. Jews have had money forever because of the fact that most of Europe wouldn't sell to them so they set up their own communities then gave out 1000's of loans which accrued a shit ton of debt then created banks to store their money and give out loans.
Cut to the 1900's when it was again no longer safe to be a jew so the rich came to America seeing the potential in television media investing their money into making films and the likes while they used their personal circle to help one another pursue their careers.
It's shitty and unfair that they can act racist, but it's all a fault of being discriminated towards for a majority of time.
All of vidya is moving toward subscriptions and microtransactions. Tesla just talked about not selling cars to customer and instead it plans to taxi only once self driving cars become self driving. Then people won't own cars as every other company copies. In the future you will own nothing and rent everything.
>So... normie shows
Yes, that's why they are popular and why it's a bigger deal they are being taken away. It means a lot in terms of the viability of these streaming services even if we won't watch them
discriminated and kicked out of every country for no reason right goy?
based retard
long live physical media
I though Netflix didn't give out their analytics
I said the reason. They gave out loans and would go after people when they couldn't pay it back so people grew angry at them for having all the wealth
They don't. It might be a projection based on some shoddily-collected data from an invasive chrome extension or something
>industry bitches about piracy
>refuses to cater to the people who would choose to buy a physical copy instead of pirate or watch digitally legally even if it were free
I buy physical copies because I want a physical copy, preferably a steelbook which I am willing to pay a premium for, and choose a physical copy over piracy even though I could just get a torrent.
I only buy ones I want a physical copy of as long as one is available and pirate everything else, if a physical copy isn't offered and I want one then I am forced to pirate.
I don't care about "supporting" them, I want a physical copy which piracy cannot provide. There are lot of other people that feel the same way. They used brainwashing tactics to push the current digital model so of course there are fewer people willing to pay for physical than there otherwise would be, if they didn't brainwash to push digital and pushed physical as hard or harder than they pushed digital then there would be a lot more people wanting physical copies even with piracy as an option.
Netflix doesn't make profit and I doubt they ever will, they have to continue spending money on "new content" and they don't see any direct profit from it like from selling physical copies or ticket sales.
Physical copies are profitable and would be even more profitable if it were pushed as hard as digital
Netflix and other streaming """""services"""" "4k UHD" streams have a fraction of the bit rate of a blu-ray, let alone 4k uhd blu-ray, hell they don't even have the quality of what a DVD can provide.
Of course, Netflix doesn't make a profit and probably never will. It is probably a tool to condition people to fork over their money for nothing. It succeeded expectations, notice how there are more corporate cock suckers than ever before, blame digital distribution companies such as Netflix and Valve
Based and physical copy pilled
They have zero quality control in the things they produce, and that ends up making a lot of partisan politics crap, racebaiting and switching, unfaithful adaptations, and poor design and script decisions. The only instances when shows go right, is when the own making crew is competent and have a name to protect, which is rarely the case since they try to shoot into all directions. It's no wonder that "Netflix adaptation" is already a synonym to trashy quality even between the normies. I know there's some pearls buried underneath, but what really matters is the outside view of it, and they managed to burn the image of their original content before they even get a good name for it.
Based and physical copy pilled.
>they had the money because they were discriminated against
>they were discriminated against because they had the money
Their OC is all garbage meant to appeal to wine aunts.
The office and friends are the most watched shows on Netflix ergo Warner and NBC think they can steal the bulk of their audience because they still have a network ratings mentality
Daredevil was good but disney killed it so sucks for them.
>Having to pay for three or four seperate streaming subscriptions just to have access to everything
>vs. having access to every single channel all current shows and reruns of everything worth watching would air on with one subscription
It's starting to look like ditching cable for streaming was the soi-addled misdecision of zero attention span zoomers who can't wait for a show to be on or read a TV guide, and need their low-effort original series RIGHT NOW. Apologize to daddy Comcast, Yea Forums.
Cable is still shit. In the end you're still relying on the company to select what they'll air next and if you want to watch something they aren't interested in then too bad. With streaming you can just choose. I don't use either but streaming seems less shitty.
do they really think I'll subscribe to 10 different services?
Considering people pay $100/month for cable, yeah, they do.
Only boomers do that though. How many people under 30 do you think actually watch the TV nowadays?
I was the first one telling you they'll end Friends deal this year and no one believed me. Now fuck you faggots, your beloved netflix is going to fucking die.
only reason the price is that high is because the networks won't lower the price to the cable company to keep the price high and encourage people to pay for their network via streaming instead
So this means Always Sunny is coming back, right
You could just buy the DVDs and have them forever and ever, you fucking retard.
Criminally underrated
Imagine being a guy so obsessed that he collects these pictures for multiple films and series, then spends his time posting them in multiple threads, adding the same text to each one.
>thots cant insta-flip to whatever episode their OCD brain wants
>actually have to know what disc its on and what season it is
it will never work
Fuck you they're an invasive species.
Newcomers don’t care if everyone else’s slice of the pie gets smaller as that had non of it before
the problem isnt even the combined price, its the inconvenience of fragmented platforms. The advent of iTunes and later services like spotify were the major force stemming music piracy, not the campaigns against napster et al
after a gradual but consistent decline bittorrent has started to increase as a share of total internet bandwidth over the past couple of years, and this shit is 90% of the reason why
Tunneling under buildings and bridges, ultimately killing Floridians, sounds pretty based to me.
You can buy the entire box set of friends in dvd for almost nothing anyway. I would imagine the sort of person who wants to watch them more than once has probably already got them on dvd
Physical media boomers are having the last laugh with all this
>Bojack animators unionizing
And now they're going to shut down one of their most popular shows.
Wait wait wait you're telling me 2 of the 6 friends are Jewish?
How could Ross (((Geller))) ever be Jewish?
Reminder Netflix spent literal millions to keep friends on Netflix.
I have zero sympathy for streamers, legal or otherwise
Streaming SUCKS, if you have internet issues or you’re trying to multi-task and download/upload large files in the background your stream is at risk of buffering, degrading, whatever.
Each time you watch you’re assuming you’re gonna have a stable internet connection for the entire time.
Now, if you download an entire season onto your HDD instead of just having it loaded into your RAM you have it from this moment on until your HDD blows up hopefully no sooner than 10-20 years from now
Can watch whenever you want even without internet, and can copy it to your other devices as many times as you want.
Now waiting to load the stream to your last watched point either, just instantly resume where you left off.
Streaming is retarded in any format
The Office ended 6 years ago. Do people just keep rewatching the same episodes over and over again?
i dont even consume media that much, just youtube
They were originally discriminated against because they weren't Catholic and claimed to be the "chosen children" of god. It's simple stuff man
user, roasties don’t even know what a hard drive is, let alone streaming straight from that to their TVs or phones.
People like you and me will not be affected by this streaming shit, why even worry? Only women, retards and boomers will be upset at any of this
First, streaming splits into dozens of different services. People will wind up paying for 100+ dollar a month "packages."
Then, once they have everyone by the reproductive organs, they add commercials
golden age of what? giving money for shit shows?
They tried to do it with Sodastream, and somehow people caught on that time, but it really is the only business model they know. Everything works like a gym membership.
>Thinking of buying a pellet and hunting iguanas here in Florida
The origin was a Jew named Donin who voluntarily came to the Catholics and told them about what the Talmud really says (Chrisrians honestly didn't know because they had never read it). The idea that it's jealousy about money is incoherent. The idea that banking was prohibited is just lying. The biggest bankers in Europe in the middle ages through Enlightenment were Christian and not violating church policy.
Gain control over a stake of the streaming market
As far as their concerned they've been missing out by letting popular background noise shows like Friends and The Office exist on Netflix/Hulu when they could have it on their own service and pocket all of the money it brings. The end result being that most major networks get their own streaming service for $10 a month and we go to what is essentially an a la carte cable service on the internet
Based DROPPED poster.
Think they have the people just coming home from work and want to relax or people with half an hour to kill before going out demographics sewn up
>Paying for a movie on a per-minute basis
Now this is some next level jewery
people just put on the office on netflix when they have a girl over
>more streaming sites that people will have to pay for to watch their favorite TV shows
Unironically this is what people have been wanting for tv shows, where instead of picking "packages" you'd choose companies. Unfortunately this is going to cost a lot more than able eventually. Unfortunately for normies that is.
>"Piracy is finished!"
>t. increasingly nervous man
>just about anyone with a camera tv show
As long as they follow strict guidelines and fall in line with the (((agenda))).
Very true
It just gets to me sometimes how retarded everything is today
Streaming ruined all my favourite Videogames, the early 2000’s FPS golden age is gone forever
Fucking Steam, fucking Ea
Get the rights to Friends and The Office, setup a website that just streams random episodes of one of both depending on user preference, put 2 ads in between each episode and don’t charge people anything, make a shit ton of money. People watch those two shows as background noise comfort food, they just want it “present”. Why give them anything else if that’s all they want?
I appreciate how informative you are (I'm not that engaged in the topic personally) , but if that's the case, what exactly caused most of the spite at the time and what kept them so wealthy over such a long period of time compared to just about any other organized segregate? I imagine for a jew to settle in trade capitals and the likes they have to be fairly wealthy to begin with but they've consistently played a role in using their wealth for widespread services like art, banking, trade, etc.
It was, you're right.
That would be the correct thing to do... more like imagine White Star Line telling people that Cunard has better ships
haven't spent a dime my entire life on any film or tv series or song lmahoy
>mildly amusing tv show that ended 25 fucking years ago is now a hot property in the streaming world
What the fuck even is this shit?
It's called cultural stasis.
letting disney be able to buy them all out, basically. disney is going to own the streaming industry within a few years.
I pirated all my media in 2009 and I pirate all my media in 2019. In 2029 I will still be pirating all my media.
And still Netflix wasnt profitable. Now Warner are gonna get to throw together a streaming service with a smaller pie than Netflix and wont get the millions from licencing them the shows, so how are they gonna make a profit?
>Now Warner are gonna get to throw together a streaming service with a smaller pie than Netflix
Eventually Netflix's share of the pie will be small enough that they can be bought outright. Mergers and acquisitions.
>Netflix is 8.99 a month in the UK
>pay 5 pounds more and have all the episodes and extras
>rip all the episodes
>play them on any of your devices
>no bullshit “apps” that require all your info and card details
>no worries about being connected
>no bandwidth fees
>no buffering
>can lend to friends
>always have a disc back up
Fucking streamfags are cancer. They deserve to be stiffed for every penny they have
So now you get your shows that were on Netflix before, the shows Netflix still have left once all the actors in the market pulled out their properties, and you've spent a big fee on acquiring Netflix, who was never profitable. Whats the next step on this master plan
why do you fucking millenials and boomers keep watching these two shows
I have Amazon but because it's included with the free shipping.
Also on México you get ClaroVideo for free with your ISP, isn't the best but it have a couple of good shows and it's the only one to have our local movies.
If those wheren't a plus I don't see myself paying for a stream service.
keked and wholesomepostpilled
>I love sucking big company cock
Do Netflix have any good new originals? The ones I remember like Orange Black and House Cards all seem to be ending. Stranger things is the same show over and over again.
>ran out of shit I want to watch on netflix
>unsubscribed, got prime and went through and added every show and movie I give a fuck about to my list, once that's finished I'll unsubscribe and see if hulu has anything worth while
I still pirate shit occasionally but I like having at least 1 service so I can just watch shit whenever I want. I really don't think the industry is doing themselves any favors by fragmenting into a bunch of different services but I guess there's enough normies that have to watch the newest hit show immediately that they'll actually be subscribed to a bunch of different ones at once.
The industry is doing itself a lot of favours. All those stupid cordcutters now have about 25% of the content they had 5 years ago. If they try to subscribe to more they'll be getting jewed worse than the cable companies did to start with. The industry loves screwing its consumers, the consumer clowns actually thought they were going to win for once.
netflix shot really shot themselves in the foot though. They could've enticed more experienced content creators and had a smaller quantity of good shows that people would watch. Instead they hired a bunch of literal nobodies to do whatever they want and gave them huge budgets. Netflix has an astonishing amount of high budget complete garbage. Not like niche shit that might one day have a following, but like actual pure concentrated liquid garbage.
It actually fucking dilutes the good shit they have because you have to wade through so much trash to find one show or movie that's worth a watch.
>tfw cant torrent or comcrap send C&D letters
>streaming sites are either littered with ads that take forever to get through and when you do get through the ads the show has already been taken down
guess this is how it ends...
>all that normie trash
jesus christ
Digital distribution ruined gaming, Valve is the one that popularized it and pushed Steam using literal brainwashing. Just having the option to pay for a game digitally has ruined gaming, it allows for what is plaguing the industry today such as rampant DLC and mtx, games being intentionally released unfinished or unplayable without a patch because they can easily patch it through whatever platform which further encourages them to be released that way, being charged for a download, having to go through some console wannabe platform to legally play games, easy access which means more casuals play games which means games are made for them which means lower quality games, etc. Digital distribution should not be paid for, don't care about physical copies? Fine, then you should be exclusively pirating. Even if you exclusively pirate you should want all games to be sold physical only because that has already proven itself to be the best environment for great games to be made and you'll still be able to pirate anyways.
On PC it used to be $50 max for an actual physical copy that was better than today's collector's editions, now they want you to pay for a fucking download. Low cost =/= cheap or a good deal. Using the logic that digital sales are "cheaper" means that a restaurant charging $5 for a sip of water is cheap because it is only $5 without taking into consideration what you get in return.
I started pirating because of Steam
Perfect and ignored by Reddit. Absolutely perfect post.
Havent watched friends since 98. Havent seen the office since 2012. I mean who are these plebs binging on this shit
Who /HBOmax/ here?
>cable companies
Can't really blame the cable companies, blame the same networks that also have/will have a hand in streaming. They force cable companies to package their channels together thus increasing the price instead of just letting people pay for only the channels they want. The high price gets people to cut the cable and switch to streaming which is what they want and why they make cable companies package the channels
>Rip every DVD individually
>Have to put every video file into cataloged folders
>Make sure you have the correct episode names
>Put each folder individually onto your Plex server
>have to repeat this process for each show you want to watch
Yeah bro, fuck streamfags...
Normalfags pay for convenience. That's how you make money, cater to normalfag desire for convenience. They are so lazy they won't even use DVD players anymore.
I don't want to get up, take DVD out put it in a box, take the nest one out and out it in the VCR. I'm fat old and lazy
Don't forget Apple is launching their own shit too.
everyone apparently
IndieFlix does this
You don’t have to rip them though, you could just get your fatass of the couch and change the disc, that was only presented as an option. You could also just rip them to a memory card if you really wanted them to be portable on the go files, nobody even mentioned plex or putting them on a server to begin with
You're a fat fucking kike that wants everyone to bow down to MUH STREAMS
Die kike digital distribution shill, die
Who the fuck is going to pay for this many streaming services when you can just pirate shit? Why do these companies think they can make even a fraction of the money Netflix makes when the word Netflix is already used to refer to streaming content the way Google is used to refer to searching?
Plex is based tho. I've got a shit tonne of DVDs but never watch them now. I was going to watch Futurama the other day but just ended up watching shit on YouTube.
I'll probably get fired but fuck it. I'm getting paid and you're crying. Who's the real winner.
Zoomers literally don't know how to pirate. They don't know how to torrent, ddl, usenet, anything. They don't even know how to read an analog clock.
Leave a zoomer in a room with a laptop, utorrent and a link to pirate bay and they won't know what to do.
Okay Millennial snowflake.
Most people in general don't know how to pirate. You think older generations know? Ha
I saw in a leddit thread the other day that you can type
"google drive" ""
and it's all available right there for free
everything to ever exist exist right now on google drive for free
it's the future
You do understand that if nobody pays for games then nobody will make games professionally?
Why is stranger things not in this?
do it pussy
I get my shit from Youtube links to mega, burn them in a DVD and sell them in the local market of poor towns.
Join a private tracker, user. Haven't received a single email warning or otherwise
Sorry you're too poor to afford to pay a tiny bit of money to watch movies you're so interested in you're willing to sit through a shitty copy of it.
Exactly. "I'm not spending $70 register ass.com, what a waste of money!" "I'm not wasting $100 for 200 bitcoins, what a waste of money!"
My female housemate exclusively watches this shit + Bachelor. If I suggest anything else she says she is “too tired” to have to focus.
Women are a meme
My dad is 68 and pirates like a mofo. Granted, I had to show him how at first, but now he makes bank selling films and cds to other oldfags. It’s not even that difficult, I could probably teach my mum how to do it and she can barely turn a computer on
Your job's a joke
You're broke
Your streaming lineup is DOA
The titles at the top of the list are long-running network shows that have dozens of episodes to choose from. Their episodes are also usually very self-contained which lends to their rewatchability. Stranger Things and other shows like it have linear, sequential plotlines where no single episode is really good enough to watch on its own. Sitcoms are simply the winning formula.
>the only way for the video game industry to make money is to charge for a download!
so you're retarded and/or a brainwashed corporate cum guzzler
They could always charge for physical copies, hell I would start paying for games again if PC started getting physical releases again, download code in a box doesn't count. But oh wait, if they did that then they wouldn't be able to release games unplayable without a patch because people wouldn't be connected to some platform which also means they wouldn't be able to shill DLC or micro transactions, also since you aren't connected to some platform that tracks your data that means they can't sell your data on top of that, they wouldn't be able to charge for a download, would have to put in more effort to make a higher quality product but would get less profit, etc.
The industry made plenty of profit selling games physical only. The top 6 most expensive games to make were physical only at release and they still made plenty of profit, the exception being number one but that wasn't sold digitally, it had an arcade cabinet.
Buy why watch the same thing over and over? Would she have to really focus to watch similar shit such as Will and Grace, King of Queens or even Everybody Loves Raymond? People are just scared to try something new (new as in never seen it before)
>utorrent
I wouldn't be torrenting either in that situation
they'll be fine
So realistically, things are going to basically become no different than cable, except you get to choose which companies content you want to watch and just basically pay $10-20 a month per "channel". Then theyll crack down on account sharing, probably hike up prices, include ads and itll all be the same exact shit as watching TV.
As a consolefag, the day they go digital only is the day I stop buying games completely. I probably have one more generation of consoles left to enjoy
Why haven't pirates come up with a good open-source streaming solution? Nobody is going to want to torrent when they can pay 10 dollars a month and watch their favorite shows.
what
With amazon firestick and other devices(xbone and ps4) allowing KODI and other piracy streamers to be downloaded, itll just cancel shit out from streaming sites like cbs/nbc/hbo max within 2-3 years. Netflix, Hulu and probably Disney+ will be fine.
>Nobody is going to want to torrent when they can pay 10 dollars a month
>paying to pirate
Not so sure about netflix their original are often more miss then hit and they are 20 billion in debt and will lose the office, friend and all marvel star wars content in the future.
no I'm saying people will pay for an easy UI and fast streaming instead of having to learn how to torrent.
Piracy will never go mainstream
>boomers still buy swapmeet burned DVDs
Jesus christ
>he doesn't have a friend who runs a plex server that automatically dl's everything
disdain for plebs
but what do i do? everything feels like a distraction from "living" and i can't think of anything that i'd feel any sense of accomplishment or satisfaction from. even hanging out with friends, i mean what do you do there? just sit and talk about your problems and what's been pissing you off lately?
i got a job so i could buy nice things (tech things and some clothes) that i've been wanting, now i have them i just sit in my room and feel empty.
All the shows I have nostalgia for are on other platforms like Hulu and Amazon too.
Plus Amazon actually has some decent originals
Also Disney is working on their own streaming service.
In short, Netflix is fucked.
>Piracy will never go mainstream
as someone who lives in australia...LOL
I mostly play older games, I even have a few dedicated DOS and XP machines to play old physical copies from.
I started pirating when PC went digital only because of Steam. Digital has allowed for so many cancerous practices see that it lowered the quality of games released. 6/10 is the new 10/10. Great, we have more games than ever before because of the lowered barrier of entry for developers and consumers "thanks" to digital distribution, doesn't matter, you can tell when these shitty indie devs are making their games that they aren't even making the games to make a game, they are making it while jacking off and saying "SUPPORT THE DEVELOPER SUPPORT THE DEVELOPER, OMG PEOPLE ARE GONNA SUPPORT ME, THE DEVELOPER, HASHTAG GAMEDEV"
>Piracy will never go mainstream
Legalize it and it will. Paid digital distribution is technological stagnation, piracy innovated by creating torrents even while being illegal, there would be even more innovation if it were completely legalized in the US like it should be.
It’s usually boomers buying stuff for when their grandkids come over. Why pay 15-20 bucks for a Disney film when a boomer is ripping and burning copies for a couple of bucks? Not like the kids are going to complain about not having Dolby sound channels or some shit
yeah good luck getting that law passed lmfao
i didnt say that shit. all im saying is, in australia rn, a shitload of people pirate. and without vpn
Ow, well i guess fraisers still around. Also, what the fuck is with all the media companies bouncing streaming services around, is this a new media scheme.
Digital copies save money for companies so they like them. If people actually gave a fuck about it they would start to boycott game companies.
Physical copies wouldn't stop DLC either. Just look at how many DLC packs Sims had that were released as physical copies.
And DESU comparing digital games to digital films/music is kinda silly because games are just code whereas films and music have many more components in them that can't be properly represented in digital form.
Britfag here, been pirating solid for 8 years, and not just old stuff either - new films and tv shows as soon as they release. Never had a letter or a warning, my isp does try and shut down the sites here and there but mirrors appear almost instantly. Fuck the police.
fucking idiots, I'm not going to pay for 10 different subscriptions for 1 or 2 shows.
they had a good thing going, and some greedy idiots come and ruin it. shame
probably true
its fucking retarded, that i think even normies are catching on now.
Some people don't seem to have figured this out for some reason, but you don't need to be paying for all of them simultaneously. Just subscribe to one service at a time and hop between them once you've seen all that's worth seeing on each
When we end up using 20 different streaming services do you think people will go back to cable?
>leaving cable
Ahahahha not so fast boyo. Ain't nothing better than good old cable TV.
Why should I care if it saves them money? Games have only gotten more expensive when you take into consideration you get nothing in return while the quality of games has also gone down
Games being sold physical only discourages DLC which is far better than what we have now as has already been proven, when physical only the post release content either has to be big enough to warrant the physical release such as an expansion which still shouldn't exist, or has to have enough people to buy it to warrant the cost of physically distributing it such as the Sims. DLC and micro transactions did not exist for over 90% of games unlike today where every game has DLC or micro transactions or patches or updates. Greatly discourages DLC and other cancers.
>comparing digital games to digital films/music
You're right because digital distribution is far worse when it comes to video games because of the cancerous practices that it allows that don't apply to films and music
>boycott game companies
Fuck off. People bitch about EA being such an evil company then give them money for games. People bitch about the US exporting industry and outsourcing which lowers wages and quality of life at home while giving other countries wealth and power such as China which allows them to get powerful enough to literally kill those people bitching with hypersonic weapons yet don't do anything about it. People aren't going to boycott anything even if they hate it because they are lazy and only care about convenience no matter the cost, doesn't negate anything that I said.
>apple gets rid of headphone jack
>says its the future
>dont boycott them into bankruptcy, instead make the headphone dongle the highest selling accessory of 2018
If everyone were like me then the world would be a much better place, media would be sold physical only and piracy would be legal and boycotts would happen anytime some company tries some shit like pushing digital.
Get that corporate cock out of your mouth
Or just pirate and pay for none of them, especially 20 year old sitcoms
>tfw I have the office, friends, and virtually every other TV series, movie, and anime available for streaming on my Plex server I share with about another dozen and a half guys.
Not that I watch any of that trash anyway, I only watch anime.
Sounds kinda gay lmao
There are tons of streaming services with everything on it. Yesmovies comes to mind, not that I stream, I torrent everything because I'm not a retard or a bluepilled Jewish cocksucking globalist shill.
I don't give a fuck about piracy. I have enough money to buy any game I want and I don't suck corporate cock. I boycott Apple, EA and Blizzard because all those companies suck. I also don't play games that have micro transactions.
And what the hell is wrong with patches and updates?
Lmao, and then they go and blackwash Triss and Yen in the Witcher and shove interracial bullshit in everything thinking that it'll get people to watch their shit original content. Can't wait for kikeflix to die.
>Piracy is going nowhere
And thats a good thing
People are fucking absolute morons who already don't pirate despite how easy it is, of course they are going to pay for multiple streaming services and when the package deal comes along they'll pay for that too. They'll pay for the package AND the couple of services that don't come with it too!
Normalfags love eating shit.
>implying I ever left
>implying I'm not watching Dragon Ball Z on Adult Swim streaming on cable right now
IT'S NOT MY SHOW
>Yes dear, I was one of those losers that were subscribed to Netflix
>No, not Suck Dicks, Netflix. Although that too.
'av you got your hammer loicense m8?
Use their distribution network and name recognition. Remote controls literally come with Netflix buttons now.
>Just steal stuff, bro!
the mouse needs more leverage and money to buy sony
Office is alright, Friends is shite.
Because Netflix is the dominant player in the online streaming game, they're World of Warcraft in 2005.
The other companies are trying to muscle in on the act but it's too late, remember the Warhammer MMO?
Me neither.
>actually using utorrent
even retards would think twice before using that garbage
>thepiratebay.org
Done, now you have all of Friends episodes on your PC. No need for all that shit.
What I usually do is letting a network shared folder on the PC which can be accessed by other devices trough the wifi, like cellphones and the TV. You should do it as well, is pretty comfy.
Meh. I got other far better shows to watch.
it sure is
man i really need to get a plex server running
>Swamp Thing 2019
>Yea Forums Swamp Thing
Where's the USA show faggot?
>losing The Office
What will white girls substitute for a personality now?
...
The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.
Why do people like the US Office? It's not good.
Was the spinoff from the dtv second movie?
What does WB have other than friends? Disney is a day one buy for most because it's going to be so inclusive, capeshit, espn and disney flicks/channe stuff. But what's WB bringing thats a big deal?
