I liked it, I also like bone tomahawk. I think Brawl in cell block 99 is his finest film but I've enjoyed all of them so far. I also enjoyed puppet master: littlest Reich which he wrote I believe

This movie was great. The shootout at the end was kinda meh though.

Zahler is an edgy cunt even edgier than Lars von trier to an extent but he’s effective as showcased in Brawl and Bone tomahawk and that’s what makes his movies fun since he uses violence to showcase real style scenarios and doesn’t let it up since it’s likely that’s exactly how a real situation would go.
Breh, bone tomahawk is leagues better than brawl. Vince is a great stoic character but brawl kinda loses itself in the end, bone tomahawk never lets up in the second act and gets grislier as it ends
I’d be hard pressed to ever watch bone tomahawk again as it’s far too violent but the story and tension are perfect

The lengthy word salad this writer-director conjurs up only works well in ye olde settings. The scene with Don Johnson was laughably pathetic, almost turned it off right there, but decided to skip some of it - and it still went on.

Too bad so much of the movie is absolute shit. The bank robbers were really interesting in concept and it had some decent flow going on during the stand-off in the van.

It's good, although not the best film from that director. The Handmaiden and JSA are better. I also like the rest of the revenge trilogy more than Oldboy.

Tarantino comparison with Zahler is wrong. It's not Tarantino if its violent. It's not meta enough, self-referential enough, towards the film as medium, films as a culture to be Tarantino.

I liked it a lot but other anons criticisms are accurate. Some of the dialog is terribly written like the Don Johnson scene, some of the pacing is a bit off which wouldn't be an issue if the filler was written better like in Bone Tomahawk and the ending shootout was anti-climactic
