>already a week out
>Nobody's talking about it
Yeah I'm expecting a HUGE drop off this weekend
Already a week out

>can't even get a hate thread going
Damn now you KNOW it's failing
You'll hear about Endgame having a big 2nd-week dropoff as well. Then they will call you a "hater" and "racist". Brace yourself
no wonder he wants spider-man to be gay lmao
Why do his movies never reach a billion?
Will this be the start of a slow decline?
Holland knows from the Sony leaks that they have a clause in the contract that Spider-Man can never be gay. He can look good for Twitter by saying it knowing it can not be allowed to happen.
when will Yea Forums learn that they are always wrong?
>A Marvel movie will flop, says increasingly nervous DC fan for the third time this year
His stories lack punch
They feel like auto conclusive cartoon episodes with zero consequences
Gay spider-man with la creatura as MJ...no thanks
It's already past $600mil. Its as popular and profitable as all the other bland cynical capeshit being shoveled in the dumbass masses faces.
Making a fan favorite superhero like spiderman gay would be a huge fuckup. Normal people aren't fags and can't relate, and pandering to a small minority like that is asking to fail.
It won't flop but it won't do what Disney wants, just like Toy Story 4 and Lion King, which is a flop in their eyes
I personally liked it.
They improved MJ character by making her more feminine and awkwardly cute. Relationship felt nice.
Mysterio was cool. His motivation was lackluster considering, yes, it was done before, but he wasn't all that evil like the other guys. He just thought that Iron Man was a fucking retard for giving the torch to Spiderman. Can't blame him. But i don't know, why would he give EDITH to a random special effect guy that he even fired? At least Spiderman has powers
Also Mysterio mind fuckery was pretty nice
>that zombie iron man
I was going to make a post about how long ago Iron Man wad and they're still pushing the same crap--but it was only about ten years. Ten years and how many dozens of movies already. Now even Black Widow is getting her own movie. At some point, are people going to stop doing things because it's what they think everyone else does? Like seeing purely common denominator action schlock in droves?
I spent all my hatred at the first one, shitty ass Miles palette swap with somehow even LESS personal drive, no stakes, no sense of responsibility, awful brand of Bendis-like MCU humor, constantly orbiting Stark (even when this movie is supposedly about Holland moving on, he goes crawling after Stark tech to "design" a suit in the most effortless reference I've seen), it's just a fucking faggot having the time of his zoomer life on the capeshit theme park. Actually makes me appreciate sk8er boy Peter in hindsight.
>Only a 92 million opening not counting the holiday crutch
I legit never want to see a superhero movie again at this point
Im kind of done with super hero movies from here only one im still interested in is dr strange and guardians of the galaxy. Im getting tired of all the origin stories and the underdeveloped villians. Then again ive only seen about half of the 20+ marvel films in theater. Namely iron man, avengers, and the previous 2 mentioned.
I'm in the same boat
I only got into the MCU for the Cosmic Marvel stuff (GotG was the first one I saw) and it seems that's pretty much all I care about in the series. I never even saw Homecoming
I don't own Disney stock so I dont care
MCU will never top Infinity saga. Thus it will decline.
>he didn't get with the hotter black girl
it's a shame
Everyone likes it, it’s a good film, just this small band of Raimifags and that one butthurt subhuman who prefers Miles making the same hate threads over and over. Holland is Spider-Man.
you might be retarded
She was just a black washed Valley Girl and she looks like a duck.
she cute though
He’s right, Peter is literally just white Miles now. That’s even worse than killing him off and replacing him
oh yea thanks for reminding me. ill probably go see it today ALONE. ist that crazy going to a theatre ALONE with no one else but me wow. i hope they dont make fun of me haha
adjusted for inflation the first two raimi films did
>movie for family and children
>no one is talking about it
yea dude, it's Yea Forums
Peter Parker in other movies:
>awkward but once he puts on the Spiderman costume hes confident
Peter Parker in this movie
>Awkward but once he puts on the Spiderman costume he is exactly the same
Why though?
actually I had that wrong, all three of the films did. I wonder why they never made the fourth one
reminder
>biggest marketing campaign of all time, almost twice the production budget
what were they thinking?
>Mysterio doing neat illusion sequences to fuck with Peter's sense of reality
>Neat! I can't wait to see ho-
>Next scene the illusion is instantly shattered and the final climax is just fighting an endless army of uninteresting drones/faceless army as per the usual Marvel climax
Don't bother arguing with secondaries. Odds are he's thinking about the hints of personality Miles displayed in the first third of Spiderverse.
As opposed to what, being a hood rat with an attitude? I don't know how you americans got convinced acting normal is a white thing and being an unlikable ass is your culture.
I don't know, focus tested oriented Ultimate Spidey adaptation? An obsession so deep with skipping Peter's origins they also forgot about his personality and motivations? Leaving a very blank slate in case Holland made it big so he could eventually replace RDJ as the lead, eventually assuming the Iron Boy title?
Movie was worth it for the first after credits scene.
>Gyllenhaal becomes a bad actor during every scene he fights in his choreographed battles with fake elementals
Nice touch
>spiderman is short
That’s literally his appeal lmao
At least he owns it where RDJ wears high heels and retarded shoes.
I thought he was phoning it in and then it hit me. Jake was pretty good, but I wish we got to see Bruce as Mysterio
RDJ probably demanded it too.
maybe for this version
>unironically caring how much money films for children make
I honestly can't relate. Guess thats why I HAVE SEX
thought his appeal was he's spiderman
I’m not American, she is a 2D personality that reminds me of a Valley Girl in her mannerisms. I don’t want her to act like a hood rat, your racist projection is showing, my point was she’s inferior to Zendaya’s new vastly improved MJ.
Funny how these movies are doing a better job setting up a Sinister Six movie with how villains are played by qualified actors in contrast to Holland and his supporting cast.
Ultimate was a bit of a manlet, right? Or maybe that was Bagley's art. Even Dikto's Peter was kinda tall.
Holland is a qualified actor, he’s virtually perfect in every role he’s been in. He shits all over Maguire and Garfield in terms of ability and presence.
Cambell as Mysterio was going to be a five second gag though. I prefer the MCU version where he's an actual villain and threat to Spidey.
>teehee I'm awkward
What an absolute legend. If only the dead greats of cinema could see what perfection looked like
this.
the movie was solid. so much so OP cant even get a proper h8 thread going.
Face it, MJ had to change. She was boring. New MJ is cute. Get over it
Fun Fact:
If this grosses over 1 billion marvel regains control over Spiderman and can refuse to allow him to appear in the Venom universe
Saying a black girl is a valley girl, or even 2D, for acting normal is pretty fucking racist, my dude. Assuming you're being honest, you let amerifats influence you.
>my point was she’s inferior to Zendaya’s new vastly improved MJ.
Oh please, put some effort into it. It'd be one thing if Zendaya was just ugly and getting shit exclusively for it, but she was also an unlikable and completely unrelated character to MJ.
DC Fans moved on awhile ago. The DCEU is fucked and if there was something to win, then Marvel "won." I still look forward to other DC movies, but apparently no shared universe stuff
Why do you make up blatantly dumb shit
Shared universes are utter stupidity in both comics and movies, the plot lines are completely at odds with each other.
>we love space mutants
>wtf we hate earth mutants
>our city is deeply corrupt and filled with low life criminals, mafia, etc
>this alien from a neighbor state with a messiah complex operating worldwide won't do a thing
>nor will the guy moving at lightspeeds
>or the other vigilantes known to murder criminals
>or the other vigilantes known to murder criminals
what about the punisher?
This. Mysterio doesn't even need the illusion, he could just turn all drone invisible and kill everyone when on the toilet.
But it's not impressive enough.
>I wonder why they never made the fourth one
The profits weren't nearly enough to justify the racism of the movies. I'm surprised Raimi actually even got 3 to make.
What did Raimi mean by this?
I don't feel like watching another diversity ridden spiderman, also, won't feel like watching another spidey movie for at least 5 years
The explanation is: there's so much stuff going on at the same time, everyone is always too busy to help the others.
It needs to make 1 billion or else the rights go back to Sony. They don't care if it makes good profit or not as long as it reaches 1 billion because they need it.
theankler.com
The movie has something else I wasn't expected... it's a nice vacation tour. You get to see Venise, Prague, Berlin, all pretty much unusual locations (well, not Venise but you get a really good look at it) instead of crappy generic burger city number 12.
Man, I want to go back to Firenze, best vacation ever
I imagine that's the general sentiment of most movie-goers, they'll just launder money through it anyway.
you got it all wrong
if it doesn't make a billion Sony will take him away
Movie didn't need to be over 2 hours
>50 pointless scenes of fat fuck and his new gf
>50 pointless scenes of flash
>50 pointless scenes of the weird teachers
>50 pointless scenes about Aunt May and Happy
Like c'mon, cut all these pointless subplots out
Did anyone here even see it? My few normie friends said don't even bother going to see it ...it's just boring.
Thankfully this board isn't flooded with Spider-Man posts though
So that's good.
You can clearly see the hand of Amy Pascal in this movie
>land in Netherlands
>it's just a bunch of stereotypes next to each other for a few minutes(lol windmills, tulips, wooden shoes etc)
>Raimi's MJ is beautiful and popular, as well as having some sort of "relationship" with Peter since childhood
>Makes sense Peter is in love with her
>Webb's Gwen is beautiful, intelligent, charming, supportive and has good chemistry with Peter
>Makes sense Peter is in love with her
>WhateverHisNameIsIDGAF's MJ is weird, unfunny, boring and not really good looking at all.
I don't give a fuck about the color of her skin, but why is Peter in love with this bitch again???
imagine someone in Yea Forums actually upset about stereotypes
oh its white stereotypes thats why
How can white stereotypes exist when white people have no culture?
I wondering why...
>that chin/jaw
Because Sony and Disney do not seek the male and the female audience that wants to see beautiful, curvy and athletic women
Because she's self hating just like him
> Holiday opening
The problem with those kind of physique is how it works well in a comics but tends to look like a porno parody in live action
I hate women.
This iteration of Spiderman is shit he's not his own man like Tobey was he relies on Stark for everything
>that wide nose
Ew disgusting
>that nose
Cute
what were they thinking? mysterio messing with spidey was cool though. tom has to be the worst peter parker.
gyllenhaal felt misplaced because of how good of an actor he is compared to everyone else
More than 20 years without Black-Cat but if one day she comes to the big screen I hope they find one that looks good in a tight suit.
>Next scene the illusion is instantly shattered and the final climax is just fighting an endless army of uninteresting drones/faceless army as per the usual Marvel climax
thank god I walked out right before that point. didn't miss a thing.
Why do not you do us a favor and stop posting?
t. Never read the comics
>Even. Dead. I'm. The. Hero
Bravo Mysterio
what a shock, regular people don't want to watch a coal burning spiderman
>black girl
>hot
pick one
>released it 3 days early to trick the idiots into thinking it had a huge weekend BO
I like DC stuff way more, but I read comic from both, and I gotta say this: DC wouldn't work in a movie universe.
>batman comics are gritty, almost always at night, and have a pragmatic and gloomy view of society and human nature, cops are either showed as corrupt or complacent, with some exceptions. Basically: In Batman Thomas Hobbs is right and Batman is the Leviathan of the criminal mind
>superman comics are colorful, positive thinking, with a positive view of humanity and society. Cops are mostly showed as well intentioned people. Summarizing: In Superman Jean Jacques Rousseau is right
And in some way, they should work together in the same scenario. That is the kind of shit that works alright in comics, but that's because in comics you suspend disbelief and you have no problems with tone. A movie with those two characters working together would either put one of then into the universe of the other, or be a tonal nightmare like the Justice League movie.
The same doesn't really happen with Marvel because most of their comics share tone. That's why I think they are boring, with the exception of X-men. X-men is neat. But in DC you look at one side and see an edgy gore fest with adult themes, and you look at the other and see a bright colored almost innocent story about a man wanting to do what is right and never stomping into things that makes him question what even is right and wrong.
I prefer DC to just focus on separated movies, without the expanded universe shit, I don't care about all that autism, I just want to sit down and watch a good original movie, regardless of tone. Fortunately that happened with Shazam, and I hope it will also happen with The Joker.
fucking retard
I work at a theatre and saw the two end credit scenes without having to watch the rest of it so I don't even gotta waste my time
It would have made the exact same amount if it opened Friday instead of Tuesday, it's summer. A 6-day total is still a 6-day total
Raimi Trilogy: Could’ve made 1 billion but they dropped the ball hard on 3
Garfield Trilogy: Don’t care
MCU: Spider-Man saturation at this point
probably due to the fact that he is a bad actor
I just have no love for these movies. They feel soulless, just like that stupid meme says.
I think they better job making it clear that MJ's whole deadpan goth thing is insecure teenage posing and not actually cool in this one.
why does my nigga spiderman have jungle fever
Me too, but unironically.
>tfw spiderman should have just been an inbetweeners esque holiday movie
>could have been funny with a goofy mysterio
instead it was just meh
If you actually read the article you'll see this isn't the marketing budget, but the money they received from product placement
no it's not, they actually mention that SOME of the companies have product placement deals as well
they may not pay for all of it, but this is what the marketing campaign ckst
i never watched that last avengers movie and couldn't even tell you the name of it.
So they didn't?
Based and dcpilled
He isn't. He is Iron boy
Do you live under a rock in the Arctic Circle?
This
i love going to the movies after the first week
you can sit wherever you want
you don't have to deal with noisy idiots
movie was great, mj is cute, the peter tingle
even mysterio's lower power level made sense as an entry level villain
Just saw it. It was shit.
>This movie was directed by a feminist
if you want to be arbitrary they didn't pass "a billion dollars" but if you don't adjust for inflation you're a mongoloid
Just saw it. It was great.
>I wonder why they never made the fourth one
Problems between Sony and Raimi.
It was a different time, user
>nu Spiderman addicted to delicious black ass
yeah, i'm thinking he's based
