Is there a series with a similar level of narrative complexity out there? I feel as if up to this point I was served a real meal for the first time when all I had was fast food and maybe a good stew sometimes but rarely.

L O S T

>was written season after season just sticking things onto it without an actual plan

I've heard bad things about the writing there.

Twin Peaks

TRY WATCHING IT BEFORE OPINING, INSTEAD OF EMITTING PREJUDICED OPINIONS BASED ON THE OPINION OF OTHERS.

Best show

Twin Peaks is similar and it's my favorite show but the writing works on an associative level there which is very different and somewhat unique when it comes to tv series.

sub or dub? having a hard time getting into it

I'm watching it in German without subs. For a German series the acting is surprisingly good.

always subs

Higurashi no Naki Koro ni

You have to endure the first four episodes. They are the pleb filter. Memorize the characters. It will all make sense and then it will become one of the best written series you've ever experienced.

No. Nothing even close. It's easily the most complex plot that actually makes sense.

That sounds far fetched. We've had decades of TV. There must be something worthwhile there.

Subs. I watched the dub for like 5 minutes and it was god awful.

I'm not saying it's the best but from a narrative standpoint I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the fuck they even planned this all out.

I used to love lost until it turned out the fan podcasters had far better and more interesting ideas than the actual writers who went with muh magic and turned anything scifi retroactivrely into a red hearing.

>S1 handsome boy Mads Nielsen dead
DROPPED

The Island is Purgatory.

They all died in the plane crash in the pilot episode and all throughout the series they're in purgatory.

>tripfag
>shit show
gee, what are the odds?

I think it’s not that impressive. It started getting a bit ridiculous by the end

Because it wasn't planned out at all and they're making shit up as they go along. The biggest indicator of this was the future flashlight that Jonas and Claudia had.

NO, IT IS NOT...

Yes.

The final scene in the series finale clearly proves it is Purgatory.

Future flashlight is from alternative future. Sic creatus mundus est. It splits and then flows back together.

lol weeb gtfo

the leftovers op, thank me later

YOU DID NOT COMPREHEND ANYTHING.

tfw on season 2 still don't know all the characters at different ages

brainlet

Are you retarded or are you trolling? Jack's dad spells it out for you, "Everything that happened on the island happened. Those that got off, lived until they died, those that died on the island, died on the island." Or some shit like that. The island was real, the flash sideways was purgatory.
