Can anyone recomment me some horror kino? I’m sick of childish stuff with cheap and infantile jumpscares and prefer a more atmospheric, slow-burn type of horror film. My favorites are pic related and Hereditary.

Eyes Wide Shut

Under the Shadow.

An Iranian Horror film set during the Iran-Iraq war. A woman and her child are left behind at home after the woman's husband is conscripted into the war as a doctor, but soon they end up getting cursed when a strange, mute orphan arrives at their apartment complex. Eventually she discovers they're being haunted by a Djinn and attempts to free themselves from the curse while also surviving constant bombing raids.

I remember watching this at a film festival and really enjoying it. Very high on mood, psychology, and atmosphere.

Not him but while it was good at the time, the horrendous special effects are so bad it's nearly unwatchable presently. I can usually get past that if the movies good enough, but holy shit they are really bad
