Honestly this era is underrated and hated by the wrong reasons, we couldn’t have films like The Matrix or if it wasn't for nu metal
Honestly this era is underrated and hated by the wrong reasons...
nu metal had a place and a time
That was white teen angst between 1990 and 2005
A lot of the lyrics are JUUUUST vague enough that you can apply the general anger toward stupid kid shit like getting bullied or being pissed that you were grounded
my man I was just listening to the matrix soundtrack and sippin’ ‘sters earlier today
ONE
NOTHING WRONG WITH ME
unironically have this album in my work truck
>ALL OVER ME
>ALL OVER ME
>ALL OVER ME
>ALL OVER ME
>we couldn’t have films like The Matrix or if it wasn't for nu metal
Bullshit. Name any band that influenced the matrix. The Matrix had a huge impact on popular culture and you are probably mixing up the two.
I was listening to a few songs from Korn's self-titled. It's pretty solid instrumental stuff but the lyrics are fucking embarrassing
>A lot of the lyrics are JUUUUST vague enough that you can apply the general anger toward stupid kid shit like getting bullied or being pissed that you were grounded
I think this mostly applies to LP. It's probably why they are the most popular numetal band because basically every song is vague and you can just project what you're feeling on it.
AAAAAARE YOUUUU READYYYY?!
Aesthetically nu-metal had a big influence on a lot of late 90s/early 2000s horror movies. I think it's just because that style was popular at the time with teens/young adults, who were the core audience for those films. The movies don't owe their existence to nu-metal, though.
IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS
that album turned 20 a couple weeks ago
nu metal was kino. perfect soundtrack to the war on terror and teen angst.
A personal favorite.
In college I spent a summer working backstage at a large concert amphitheater. I had to handle riders and make sure bands got stuff they asked for. Korn was by far the friendliest band I worked with. Jonathan Davis seemed like a really great guy.
Korn is from my city, I moved a bench for Fieldey's parents one time cause my friend lived next door to them, they always seemed like nice people.
The first time someone pointed out that "Numb" was probably intended to be directed towards a girlfriend and not a parent figure froze me.
>numetal
Matrix was more inspired by Industrial you fucking zoomer, they are even in a Industrial club in the first movie
FUCK
SHOVE IT SHOVE SHOVE IT
rad. they were always my favorites.
Good starter if u dunno which way to go, metal or hiphop. Glad i went metal.
Yeah the soundtrack is mostly industrial and techno. The closest bands to nu-metal on it are Deftones and Rage Against the Machine
what's the most nu metal soundtrack to a movie and why is it dracula 2000?
Anyone remember this?
i remember numb/encore showing up in the miami vice movie
The only halfway decent band is System of a Down and if you still listen to this shit beyond the occasional trip to nostalgia lane you're a tool.
LMAO, I have that in my work truck too. I'm such a faggot.
Is Incubus really nu metal? I feel they are independent.
Make Yourself is totally a nu-metal album
It’s cool
Hybrid Theory had a lot of soul compared to recent LP shit
Their earliest stuff is definitely nu-metal. Same with Deftones, they both switched over to their own style by the late 90s
Deftones was the only good thing to come out of this shit genre.
I am related to Fieldy, he is an all around good dude
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOOOOOOOR
For me its Deftones.
MOMMY WHY?!?
>Rage Against the Machine
>A bunch of industrial
>Marilyn Monsoon
>some techno
>Basic School Shoot OST
The Brother's were really into all that early/mid 90s shit, and put it in their movies.
this
>graffiti decorations under a sky of dust
*ahem*
TRENT REZNOR IS A FAGGOT
>The 1975
>Pale Waves
>Cage The Elephant
>Vampire Weekend
Imagine being WORSE than nu metal
Industrial isn't numetal. And electronic has nothing at all to do with numetal besides linkin park
I'll give you Deftones and Ratm, but Rammstein, MM, and Ministry aren't numetal. you could even tell by the costume design it's influenced more so by industrial. Nu metal were wiggers, nothing like that is in the Matrix.
I think I won this one.
Post more nu metal kino
IMO Orgy is highly underrated, very original sound
NIN is based
I liked that cover of Blue Monday when I was a kid.
The Prodigy isn't "some techno"
Freddy vs Jason
I liked the ending credits song a lot.
>Sepultra
>Slipknot
>Lamb of God
It’s like I’m back in middle school. Gross
>This is a soundtrack to an Olive Stone movie
Redpill me on why is Limp Bizkit so fucking hated?
My teenage self (from the mid-90s early 2000s) agrees with you.
Used to listen to Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park, System of a Down and loved it.
I grew out of it, but at the time it was perfect. I wasn't even an edgy teen, I just loved how it sounded.
Oh man, I remember passing the CD of this for others to copy.
>Orgy
>Static-X
You got me nostalgic as fuck.
I DID MY TIME
Because he has shit taste.
Fanbase, they represented the college frat boy popped collar douche bags plus Fred Durst was a massive heel feeding the flames
Korn was kino, almost every copycat was shit. SOAD and RATM don't count
Deftones is better.
if you actually look at the musicality of it all, linkin park is some of the best modern 2000s music, especially compared to the horrible rap shit that was coming out at the time.
