Weird Al hasn't been relevant in like 15 years

Man, Weird Al's taken good care of himself and aged well.
It's too bad I'm not into modern pop so his newest stuff is also enjoyable for me.

Attached: uh oh.jpg (960x541, 60K)

nigger nigs?

Wierd Al is still alive?

he's more relevant in alt-comedy circles than to the general population. he was the bandleader on comedy bang bang for the last season or 2

He really has, I'm glad to see it.

>TODAY WAS THE GONNA BE THE DAY THAT I TOOK YOU TO TACO BELL
>BY NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE REALIZED I WOULD ORDER A GORDITA AS WELL
>holy shit Weird Al took a famous song and made it about food xD lmao this is funny stuff

dude’s more talented and wealthy than you’ll ever be you zoomer faggot

I'm two episodes into s3. It's kind of dull. Why is it so slow? Will Buyers was in another dimension like 5 minutes into episode 1 of S1.It was really fucking tense and mysterious. This feels more like a zany 80s comedy so far.

it's really gone to shit. but everyone seems to be eating it up

What would Weird Al have died of?
Baloney Overdose?
Literally choking on a chicken?
Slipping on a banana peel?

Attached: weird al 19.jpg (800x450, 45K)

I want Will to have a blond blue-eyed boyfriend.

>his parents died of a gas leak in the house he bought them

Attached: 1526702534959.jpg (333x293, 55K)

Does it at least get better? I want it to be captivated by it again but it's so boring.

I’m watching it now. 3 episodes in and every single male character has been completely neutered or turned into a giant piece of shit and every female character has all the answers. Even fucking Mike and Eleven, the love story at the heart of the series, gets broken up right at the start over stupid bullshit.

What, the 80's nostalgia?

It's weird how pop culture seems to have become fixated with 80's nostalgia even though we should be well into the 90's nostalgia already, and I say that as someone who loves 80's kitsch.

ehh sort of... pace picks up around ep5 but everything is still pretty predictable and the ending was pretty hollow to me. there are some highlights though

Music and comedy go together like fish and ice cream.
>mfw a comedian has a guitar leaning a few feet behind

the aesthetic is just superior

thats racist!

Attached: 2019-07-08 22_13_23-Netflix.png (908x449, 795K)

do you not remember literally 3-5 years ago when EVERYTHING was all about 90s nostalgia?

Well I can't say I remember a grunge revival taking place.

Everything just feels a bit formulaic now. Eveything's a little too set up and on the nose. Nancy and Jon have their own segment (where jack all really happens and it's not that interesting). Rats are a big thing for some reason. There are dopplegangers for some reason...... zzzzzz

My favourite piece of “women are amazing” bullshit is when the fucking ice-cream girl speaks 4 languages fluently and can somehow translate Russian as a result of that, even though Russian isn’t one of the languages, even when they say in the show that its a totally different alphabet.

The 2nd is the ridiculously over the top sexism in the newspaper boardroom. It’s just psychotic.

rock has no place in popular music anymore, and grungy, garagey shit never stopped happening in the independent world, so I'm not sure what you're waiting for exactly

*ahem*

Attached: file.png (924x1444, 2.33M)

fuck weird al

Kid Cudi was better.

this is so true

The point was that she, like many other people in the real world, has a "good ear" for languages, or apparently in general since she checked her band experience. They literally show her going "OK so they're making this sound which would correlate to this letter in the Cyrillic alphabet, and when I put it all together it seems like this word" Like it's not an unbelievable process because it's been done before.

Fuck you, zoomfags.

Most of the early 90's was holdover from the 80's and most of what was worth remembering about the late 90's never really went away in the first place, so there's not much to be nostalgic about. The 80's has a more dynamic aesthetic anyway.

my mom forced me to go to like 5 of his concerts at the Orange County Fair 10+ years ago when I was a kid and I fucking hate him

You're not wrong. Reggie was, obviously, the best, but I liked Kid Cudi's energy and attitude. Like he had no idea what was ever going on but he was down for it anyway. Too bad he got real sad or whatever.
Weird Al was a bit zany/manic/sharp for me, like putting sugar on top of ice cream.

what the fuck were they thinking?

Attached: Stranger Things S03E01 00_22_34.jpg (3840x2160, 1.3M)

It is a pretty cool shirt desu

Do people genuinely dislike Weird Al? Or even hate him? He's completely inoffensive.

yeah but earth tones and flannel are my jam. fuck neon.

where do you think we are?

I almost want to say S2 and especially 3 just feel over produced. Everything is so showy and feels a little too 'Netflix', as stupid as that might sound. They really layered on the comedy thick and everything feels pretty over the top.

Literal zoomer trash. I can understand not liking him or just not preferring him, but how can you hate a man like that?

>dude he's like rich tho!
Only by piggybacking off of talented artists and having his fans shit on anyone that tries to do parodies as a "copy of Weird Al"
He's a slimy little snake that acts like a "nice guy" that "always asks for permission" but then he goes out and shittalks anyone that didn't let him do an awful ripoff of their hit song.
He's shit

I can see being tired of him or annoyed?
I'm not, but I think a lot of that might just be from idolizing him when I was a little kid.

This is Yea Forums, part of Yea Forums(nel) - there's always a reason to hate something, ESPECIALLY if other people like it.

I could understand being annoyed or tired of him at some point. Trapped in the Drive Thru is musical kino though

>how can you hate him
Because he's a talentless hack that has never had a hit song that wasn't just someone else's song but with """funny""" lyrics

I'm 26, how am I a zoomer? Weird Al promotes unfunny comedians just they're black (Key and Peele) and his jokes are generally obvious and unfunny. Honestly go fuck yourself for liking this liberal trash

>The 80's has a more dynamic aesthetic anyway.
That's probably why I like it better too, and I'm a 90's kid. I also watched TV a lot less by the late 90's so I was more exposed to that 80's holdover stuff. Remember when all the toys went gratuitous neon colours?

>le ebin Yea Forums contrarianism and cynicism
I'm not a newfag. I'm asking genuinely because I assume most hate he gets here is just LARPing or zoomers.

No, thats not how language works. With zero prior knowledge of the language you can’t just fucking magically understand one after a few hours.

>p-people only hate Weird Al because they are negative contrarians
>LMAO AMISH PARADISE ITS LIKE GANGSTERS PARADISE BUT ITS ABOUT THE FREAKING AMISH INSTEAD lmao random xD

>I'm 26, how am I a zoomer
You are quite literally 1 year away from being a zoomer.

Are we gonna post our favorite Al originals now?
youtube.com/watch?v=SMhwddNQSWQ

It was actually a satire of the fact that coolio took a song by Stevie Wonder and turned it into a song about a niche culture. Al did the same but with something with significantly less representation. The lyrics are humorous anyway. Do you just not enjoy fun, user?

Weird Al is kinda funny at first, but he basically just does the same gimmicks in all his songs and it gets old really fast. My sister used to play like the same 5 songs by him when she would drive me to school, she thought they were soooo funny and good and I wanted to cut my ears off after a month of that

What I miss most about the 80s that a lot of people never seem to mention is the lack of racial tension between whites and blacks in nearly all movies unless their point of being was ABOUT racial tension. Everyone was bro, buddy cop and buddy adventure movies. No decade before nor after had the same feeling black and white characters just coexisting as bros.

>It was actually a satire of the fact that coolio took a song by Stevie Wonder and turned it into a song about a niche culture.
I didn't know that. Weird Al was actually 2deep4me.

>you need to have a hit song to be "good"
He's done plenty of style parodies that are good original songs.

>t. tasteless low IQ zoomer water trash

remember, you faggots like this garbage

chernobyl
and euphoria

talk about a bunch of s o i boy faggots

>d-dude he like makes original songs too!
None of which were ever hits, every hit song is just some hit song he took and slightly changed the words of
>that bullshit
Lmao nope, it was not that deep. Stevie Wonder's song was about racism and Coolio's was about life in the streets, Weird Al's song was "LMAO AMISH PEOPLE"

You're such a terrible person, I'm so glad I'm not you.

This. Rap was more positive to while still addressing urban problems.

Attached: 1553231888390.png (900x676, 410K)

The point is she's not understanding anything. She's identifying sounds and connecting them to established symbols for those sounds well enough to educated guess her way through, word by word.

None of which were hits. His entire career is owed to stealing other people's hit songs
>t. zoomer that thinks everyone loved Weird Al

>*has sold out restrospective tour with a full orchestra in your path*

What the fuck is that face, when the New Hampshire Old Man of the Mountain face broke apart was it resurrected as Weird Al?

This. Good to keep in mind whenever people here shit on something you like, these same fags unironically laugh at Weird Al's cringe comedy music

What never made any sense to me was the criticism of the 80's self-improvement culture, with emphasis on aerobics and shit. Why would staying fit be considered a bad thing, unless you're some fat acceptance slob?

>WAAAAAAAA PARODY IS THEFT
I literally linked 2 completely original songs.

Agreed. The last movie that was even remotely close to that was Let's Be Cops. And even that got weirdly dark at times.

Not who you linked but none of his style parodies have ever charted or been snuck into radio rotation.
I don't think Al isn't a talented singer but he's nothing without direct parodies.

>but none of his style parodies have ever charted or been snuck into radio rotation
So? There's loads of great music out there that never gets any fucking airtime.

>tfw it's 2005 and you send your middleschool ex a gaiaonline pm of youtube.com/watch?v=yWhpk-8QLFQ to burn her
Take that you dumb slut.

What a terrible opinion.

I already said you don't need top hits or being charted to be "good." I for one have never even heard him on any local radio. It's always shit pop and then "classic rock" stations that just play the eagles and nirvana 24/7 and occasionally something actually good like yes or rush

>views on youtube
do you know how many of those aren't even real accounts views
or how many repeat views there are. my sister is worth 2000 views alone

>gaiaonline
>not MSN Messenger

My dad deleted MSN Messenger because he needed to use it as a scapegoat after he gave the computer a virus while looking at porn.

Incest fetish?

MAXIMUM LOL

>MY TASTE IN ENTERTAINMENT IS INSEPARABLE FROM POLITICS
Zoomer trash.

I love UHF

Nigger I am prime millennial weird al fan. Literally only zoomers don't "get" him and actively dislike him for some reason.

Someone post a picture of his wife

I haven't seen that one since I was a kid. I want to pick up the laserdisc but it's like 50 fucking dollars for some reason.

I think they only hate him because reddit loves him.

wholesome Al

>turbo kid came out 4 years ago

how long is this nostalgia going to last?

>anonymous shit post in my thread last week, all I did was smile and turn the other cheek, that's okay in fact the janny I don';t need, because I'll be laughing my ass off while posting sneed

wtf cute daughter

Tbh I didn't even know he was married

>shit on based Pollack
He's too good for this world. Just wants to make us all laugh with high talent. Plus. His parents died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I'll take the bate.
I wish I could beat your ass.

I like Weird Al, except for him pulling his MJ parodies from future concerts because of that bs HBO "documentary".

There has been a lot of 90's nostalgia lately, but it's been confined to urban music and streetwear. In other words, niggers have been having 90s nostalgia while white people have been sticking with the 80s since that was our last great decade culturally.

I didn't live through the 80s but I feel like in many ways it was a very right-wing decade, or at least what we would define as right-wing today. When you look at what the modern left is all about, things like racial harmony or even self-improvement through exercising seem to run contrary to that. Leftists are all about conflict and subversion, they would rather shout about fatphobia and spread body awareness campaigns to change the beauty standards in the media, but that sort of shit didn't fly in the 80s. It was a very upbeat and harmonious decade with a hyper-capitalistic and enterprising culture. I wish I could live in a society that feels by and large moralized rather than demoralized.

'90s white rock nostalgia is about grunge and grunge is fucking depressing when 3/4 of the big four Seattle grunge singers killed themselves or OD'd (or both with KC). Based Eddie Vedder is still..... wait for it....... ALIVE

True. A lot of the current SJW shit started back then. Feel depressed for being white and male. The '80s were just fun and comfy.

It was really fun but I was a kid then, so most decades are fun when you are a kid. It did seem like people were rejecting the conflict of the '60s and '70s and simply enjoying life for a few years. Generation X grew up and kinda ruined that in the '90s.

It weirds me out. The guy looked older in the late 70s than he did in the late 90s.

>piggybacking
the entire fucking world is based on piggybacking
there, that's the fucking meaning of life - cutthroat and piggyback everyone else
not this number 42 bullshit

stranger things is cancer but that tshirt is lit. just ordered one for myself and one for your mom, who i'm fucking.

Fuck off, if Stranger Things' existence can some way benefit Weird Al then I am okay with it.

Trapped In The Drive-Thru isn't a style parody

I bought a version of this shirt.

He's been doing well for ages. He constantly tours and has sold out shows. I saw one some years back. It's amazing how many young kids go. There are generations of families raised on his stuff. Live shows make them more money than radio play and CD sales anyway.

Weird AL is that guy that's funny but if you ever hang out with him he's probably trying to do quirky stuff for a laugh the whole time.

>Weird AL is that guy that's funny but if you ever hang out with him he's probably trying to do quirky stuff for a laugh the whole time.

nope, hes actually a pretty laid back guy IRL.

Weird Al is a saint! Fuck you!

He seems pretty down-to-earth in interviews.

Posting Al kino.

youtube.com/watch?v=Q_I0tJigC40

Anons, Al Yankovic blew his brains out in the late 80s when people stopped buying his records. He's not worth getting into trouble over.

UHF was the first time I saw Fran Drescher and that's where my obsession with Jewish women with black hair all started.

Weird Al has never not been relevant

he could have harnessed his vast intellect for good instead of evil

Well. There was the one period in 1918.

>60 years old

HOW THE FUCK? I'm assuming Tom Cruise eats one meal a day and gets virginal blood transfusions from the church of scientology to stay young, but how the fuck is Weird Al so youthful?

"Britanny Spears isn't better than anyone else"

Except that's how white/men treat people all the time

Take what you're hearing and compare it to the phonetics of their alphabet, assemble words with alphabet, translate words

It's not that it's impossible it's that the translation would be rife with fuckups, but possibly they'd still get close enough to still solve the Hogwarts riddle that it was.

Parody music is the absolute lowest form of music, even below three chord country.
Even humorous and comedic music can be funny, but if you have a career entirely based on making song parodies you are creatively and artistically devoid.

trip over Harvey the wonder hamster late at night

I don't like the guy, but that fucking sucks, jesus christ. You can seriously be the most inoffensive, easy going person in the world and horrible tragedy will still find you.

As was pointed out earlier, the inevitable 90s revival is a full year, maybe two, underway, though pretty much confined strictly to fashion (streetwear) and music (indie/garagey stuff.) Still yet to pervade some of the other arts

He's a nice guy. Leave him alone.

>three chord country
how can people listen to this

How would Weird Al protect her from the nigger rapists?

kek

is that rico's bro from sarshiptroopers?

Because modern culture sucks so much people want the past but don't acknowledge the environment at the time that allowed it to be that way, no smartphones.

no way he isnt dying that hair

Weird Al finna be wholesome af yall

>15

Try 28 years buddy.

I remember getting his autograph at the airport, Al in 3D was one of the first cassettes I bought from him.

Only niggers and faggots hate the 80's.

I encourage you to check the Danburu threads on Yea Forums. They hate the lifting and motivational parts in a "cute girls lifting weights" anime.

If your bar for success is what's played on the radio then you sir, are a fucking moron. Radio plays what the labels LET THEM play. You can't request a song on the radio, it's an illusion. They were going to play the song you wanted in the rotation anyway.
