for me it's the fact it's all played straight, no winking at the camera bullshit

I just enjoy the rapid pace, so even if some of the jokes and puns fall flat you get quickly shifted to the next one. Reminds me of a bunch of improv sessions with how the whole thing flows logically yet at the same time ridiculously between scenarios

XRA is like the grindcore equivalent of a sketch comedy show, where drum fills are individual jokes in 30 seconds blips of insanity with sustainable dialog to be had about implications and timing and whatever.

The argument Xavier and his clone have towards the end of season 1 is possibly the greatest piece of 3d animation to ever exist, because it accomplishes absolutely nothing, while summing up a major ethos of the show: Stop looking for meaning in the world, and take it at face value so you can actually enjoy it.
