and don't say the training, because
a) They are dressed differently
b) They are using lances not wooden sticks
c) They are not looking in the same direction
d) The ground is not red
e) Is standard training as seen in a million movies depicting military drills.

Should have cast Hitomi Tanaka as Mulan and Anrio Okita as Shang Yu, and made Mushu an octopus instead of a dragon

I liked it better when she had to use her wits, and there was that beautiful avalanche scene sweeping away the mongol horde but to each their own. This new take is going to fit much better into the chinese cinema market though.

In the original folktale she isn't a rebellious cunt who escapes her arranged marriage for the military for her own sake. She did it so his sickly father didn't have to, being a story about self-sacrifice and filial piety.
