Discussion about the show is dead and trannies and faggots have taken over. It was definitely great for two months (even if degenerates side-rolled it for the past weeks some members kept posting a lot of interesting background story on some of the real-life personalities) and I'm pretty happy for it - I don't recall ever being all the time in one place and enjoying every minute of it. But the core posters are gone and the few remaining will migrate somewhere else or just move on.
Nonetheless, it was a great ride, frens. Hope we see each other again in the future.

that's true of basically any crime committed before the widespread use of the scientific method in police work. You're a british peasant in 1820 and a body is found in your field bludgeoned to death with one of the tools left outside your house. How do you prove you didn't kill him? You can't. Autopsy is barely legal and anybody could have done it. Old-timey justice relied on witnesses a LOT and if enough upstanding citizens accused you of something, be it witchcraft or blasphemy, you'd probably get convicted for it no matter what really happened.
Everybody knows it's impossible to use material evidence to prove Hickey's buggery unless he happened to write it down in his own hand for some reason, and therefore no-one HAS to prove it, but you do need witnesses or the captain himself walking in on the act.
Also, in my opinion you fail to consider how incredibly harsh the punishments on a 19th century british warship could get. I'm sure you heard of keel-hauling but it's worth googling if you don't know what that entails exactly. I can't imagine that getting caught falsely accusing a fellow sailor of an offense worthy of a death sentence would have been kindly regarded. I'd tend to think any captain of the era would have hanged the man making the accusation, or worse, for damaging morale.

So first of all you must build awareness of your dreams and especially the moment when you are dreaming. Many use a daily dream diary but I don't have time for that so I just recite the dreams to myself as if I'm telling a story. I can't vouch for this but for me, personally, constructing a separate dream persona has helped. I refer to my dream self by a separate name and write/think about him in the third person.
Once you have established a pattern, you need to practice reality checks. Think of something that will let you know immediately if you are dreaming or not. I find that light switches don't do anything in my dreams so I flip light switches. Some people recommend observing clocks for change, or observing hands and feet for distortion. Do these reality checks multiple times a day until it becomes so ingrained in your routine that you start to do it in your dreams as well.
Once you have mastered dream awareness, it's time to get to Hickey. It helps if you think about him throughout the day, or have things around you that remind you of him. Then, when you are going to bed, tell yourself firmly several times, "I will dream of Hickey tonight." If you do dream of Hickey, be sure to record these dreams in great detail and continue the process.
It will not work the first few times but don't be discouraged. It took me years to get to this point.
Oh and to avoid waking up just as your Hickey dream is getting good, practice prolonging your dreams. When you're able to sleep in, if you feel yourself waking up, just continue with whatever you're doing in the dream and tell yourself firmly "I am still dreaming." This will build endurance for the big shot, so to speak.
