So I recently picked up the show in season 12. Around the time when Lucifer became President. Man... they should really have stopped with the overarching plots... it is SO bad now. I love Jack but come on, why couldn't they just settle donw for the Monster of the Week formula after season 13 ended? It's a chore to watch now... I SO much do not care about Michael.

Fuck English men of letters, that shit was so predictably no-fun, then it goes completely off the rails with the alternate universe shit. They bring back beloved characters but not the ones we actually want to see. (Charlie over Jo and her mom) Then they tease that shit all female spin off that nobody cares about... I'm pretty sure most people like Jodie and the otehr lady cop but god damn the girls are all insufferable. And then they bring back Gabriel just to waste him two episodes later. Then they nerf Jack and kill off Lucifer, fuck that too... oh and THEN they bring back Michael, the most unlikable character from day 1 and make Dean into some Peaky Blinders loking fag for 2 episodes until it suddenly ends because the uggo Shamman girl needs screen time to shill the damn canceled spin off

I said it before, I’ll say it again. The wayward dream walker was too big a plot to leave hanging. And the first half of season 14 feels so weak compared to the second half, I am almost certain the shoddy pacing was to close the dream walker arc and it was rushed because the spinoff was suddenly dropped by the CW. Had the spin-off been picked up, I strongly suspect season 14 would have turned out differently and more cohesive

I liked the portal hopping, it gave us new lore, new monsters, and the old ones (demons, vampires) had new and more monstrous appearances (tempter demons had horns, apocalypse world vampires looked more bat-like). There definitely was potential

Pretty much what I thought too, makes it even worse though if you think about it. What could've hapend if the spin off was made? When I first read about the spin off I thout it would be essentially Supernatural 2.0 with girls cast. Not so bad.. but the whole set up with the cream walker and thsoe creatures left an extremly bad taste in my mouth. I can't really think of a way they could've made the conlusion better for Supernatural out of that set up without forcing the viewer to also watch the spin off

Well, I didn't dislike the concept of it either, just the shoddy execution. They didn't even have interesting set pieces. I think they passed that one chapel 4-5 times in apocalypse worls because theay literally only had one set for it.
Can't really expect it to be better with more crative worlds or creatures since costume and set Budget was and is always a problem with CW

I also hate how the shapeshifter changed appearance without shedding, something only the Alpha, his mother Eve and the Leviathans were capable of doing originally iirc. This will be a problem with any spinoff attempt I fear. If it's not Sam and Dean no one is going to care and since good characters like Jo and Ellen get killed off so much they don't give us any characters outside of the main cast to care about.
A Cas or Jack spin-off would be too boring since they're so overpowered. Maybe an alternate universe attempt with antagonists equally as strong but the CW budget wouldn't give us anything besides them shooting beams at the monsters.
Bobby is dead and even if they brought back the original Bobby I doubt that's any direction they'd wanna take.
Ketch and BMoL gets mixed feelings from fans. Plus they're too OP anyway with how easy they wiped out monsters it'll get boring.
Rowena is still weird rooting for since she helps so much now but she's still a witch and there's still the whole "Sam will kill you" thing and most of her aiding the boys is for her own survival although she probably does feel somewhat attached to them now.
Outside of alternate universes you can't really set the stakes any higher for a new set of hunters if they wanted to spin-off that way than what they're about to go for with the final season but that just circles back around to the "literally who" problem. I just don't see any cast of characters coming close to what Jensen and Jared have given us. I'm sure they'll attempt something though since they're running out of shows pretty fast.

Stop making too much sense user it hurts. No but really, I was in the camp of wanting a spin-off but after the season 14 finale and the way they set up the villain, I also think we have unfortunately long passed the viability of a spin-off.

the only good way they could continue the show in any form is too create a sequel instead of a spinoff. they'd have to cast two giga chads like jared and jensen that could carry the show. maybe they could time skip and have two previously unknown sons of sam and dean (from random one night stands along the way) meeting somehow and discovering everything from scratch about their parents, monsters, and destiny as new stars of the next gospel. no one is going to want a spinoff of the original show. only a reboot would work imo

Ben Braeden was literally made for this, throw in Jack and Jesse (the cambion which everybody keeps asking for) and you have three lads that can have a good dynamic: hunter, half angel and half demon. And if you’re hopeful for a reboot you know damn well the Winchesters will no longer be recognizable. If there’s one thing having Supernatural 6-15 gave us that’s good, it’s that they haven’t rebooted the show yet into something awful
