What's the best horror movie ever made and why is it Haxan?

I don't think it's the best but I still want to congratulate you on your taste.

Häxan isn't a horror movie.

DUDE

Haven't seen that one yet. My favorites are The Thing, Kwaidan and Hour of the Wolf.

it’s the exorcist and probably always will be.

The Shining ya goof.

Also based taste.

Not very good taste.

Looks dumb as fuck, congrats on your shit taste and kys

I always felt the shining was more of a psychological thriller but if it’s considered horror then definitely strong contender. I appreciate that input

Haxan plays with multiple genres. Although it is ostensibly a documentary, it is tenable to describe it as a horror film.

You'd probably enjoy other Japanese classic horror films like Onibaba and Ugetsu. Probably Phantom Carriage, too.

Evil Dead (2013) is the best horror movie of the 21st century

I have Onibaba and Kuroneko in my watchlist. I recently started with Mizoguchi so i will watch Ugetsu soon. Phantom Carriage was fantastic.

Only if you find knowledge frightening. Not uncommon nowadays.

Add Jigoku to the list.

Only a lack of knowledge would lead someone to be unafraid of it.

Thanks, will do.

Also, Hausu, if it's not on there yet. It's very light-hearted but it's also a Japanese horror classic.

Yes i have heard that it's good. I already have it there.

Patrician taste. Don't listen to plebs.

Haxan is garbage. Especially the dumbass PSA moral tacked on at the end.

The devil party scene is fucking incredible for the time though.

Psycho and Halloween

Damn that looks super boring.
The only thing "horrifying" about it would be sitting through that shit.
