Now that the dust has settled, was he right about the prequels?

yes
the sequels being bad dosen't retroactively make the prequels good, they're still bad

I will say, however, that I get more enjoyment out of watching the prequels than watching the sequels.
The prequels come from a more creative thought process, it just falls apart in its terribly lazy execution. The sequels come from a creatively devoid preproduction but have (mostly) competent directors at the forefront
it's easy to criticize. Those fucking hacks cant even unironically make a decent flick. The shit they make are just as bad as the shit they make fun of. Stupid!
If being a critic of something required you to be an expert in said craft, it would be an opinionless world.
And maybe that's a good thing. It would be better if haters wouldn't hate. Better for both themselves and the creator they hate on.
Fuck off with that. You have bad taste and you should get shit on for that, as should whoever was responsible for making the shitty product you like.
PM is pretty damn awful, but it picks up. The trick is being able to admit that you can enjoy shit movies as a guilty pleasure. I can't find any pleasure in the sequels. They are just bad
For the most part. That said, they can still be enjoyable on some level.
You can make any movie seem worse than it is by criticizing every single thing in it.
What's funny though is that if they were released today, him and Jay wold be all over them calling them pretty good movies that's worth a watch, like they do with all the marvel shit that's more or less equally, only they don't even have the saving grace of having some sort of creative passion behind it.
It's better to be shitty but kinda interesting than "technically a competent movie" but utterly bland and forgettable.
RotS is in the top 3 of SW films
fuck mike
kill jay
marry rich
Jay posted twin peaks gif on twitter. Will we finally know what to think about Twin Peaks: The Return?
This is pretty much it, the PT has a lot of failings, but the ST's failings have highlighted what the PT did well and people have latched onto that
Was it autism?
Came here to say this.
Nope. All bullshit.
Fact is, prequels were kino and too intellectual for him
>REEE why were the fight scenes fun and crazy instead of shitty simple garbage they did for budget reasons in the originals
It's treason then
His voice is annoying and I hate it. Some people won’t listen to you it your voice is too grating.
The prequels had more heart than the sequels.
That should say a lot.
Too stupid to tell who's who in the intro to Rots.
>there are people who actually believe this
sneed
I never watched it.
prequels have some cool battles
Yes, absolutely.
Yes. RLM is based.
No. They are great compared to nu-wars,
No. Films had some interesting ideas but the execution was off. Sith is good though
The Phantom Menace looks gorgeous because it was filmed on 35mm film.
Attack of the Clones is a horrible story with boring characters and looks awful and flat.
Revenge of the Sith is what we all wanted the prequels to be, but looks too much like AOTC to be regarded.
The only thing that makes the prequels enjoyable is they had years of fun memes and OC that make them enjoyable. Because OC is dead, and most people only want to REEE out when it comes to the sequels there are no fun memes. Only anger and culture war shiposting. Had the ST started 10 years earlier we'd probably have fun memes and it'd be fun to shit on them too.
It's such a waste Disney didn't just remake the prequels. JJ directing the scripts from the prequels would be good.
Plus, they already have all the criticism collected, so it would be easy to fix things up. Too bad Disney wastes time remaking cartoons.
Yikes. This didn't age well.
>JJ directing the scripts from the prequels would be good.
No.
Imagine actually thinking this
JJ is a fine director, but JJ is godawful when it comes to being creative. His mysterybox shit is not good writing.
>10 years after Plinkett
>Prequels are more popular than ever
>The younger generation loves the prequels just as George Lucas predicted would happen
George Lucas was right. Plinkett was wrong.
For the most part yes, but I think there is an error in viewing the prequels in the same perspective as the OT. The OT is very much a mythological and fantastical perspective. The prequels seem to be made from a historical-political perspective. Whether this was intentional or not, I feel that the two trilogies are quite distinct and make it harder to compare 1:1. I don't think the prequels were trying to be mythological like the OT
It is very much intentional and fanboys were too set on SW being the similar movies done in the exact same way.
The only time I ever enjoyed watching any of the prequels was a stream of ROTS on Yea Forums. There were about 20 anons shitting on the movie from beginning to end and it was a really fun experience.
Revenge of the Sith is unironically an underrated classic and Lucas’ masterpiece. The other two are shit and boring
It should be legal to kill people who demonstrate bad taste.
The PT are very dry and they awkwardly try to mimic Shakespearean-esque stage work. It has a very different taste than the OT.
Before niggers fags and jews took movies that could just be "bad" and made them "bad and clearly propaganda:.
it's not, it basically that Plinket was saying about the only decent part of it is Sheev
sheev was great, even plinkett admitted to that
everything else sucked
>everything else sucked
Even the visuals?
And sound design?
And soundtrack?
I think this still makes sense, since JJ never had full control over TFA. When they made the prequels, they could have done nearly anything with the universe, as long as it led to New Hope (and Lucas fucked up the continuity anyway). But when Disney greenlit the sequel trilogy, they did it with the sole intention of playing it as safe as possible. TFA was fated to be a bland turd before JJ was even hired.
JJ might not have had full control over TFA but TFA still reeks of all of his personal creative failings so he clearly had some control. He has co-writing credit on the script, and it follows his "Mystery Box" bullshit formula.
Prequels have a lot of hot Twi'leks.
