Not that guy but I'm watching the Buu saga currently and even though some ideas are good it has some pretty big issues. I honestly enjoyed everything immensely right until Babidi appeared, and then everybody started acting like retards.
Frieza saga is probably better because everything up until Frieza actually starts fighting is very tense and solid, though it takes a massive nosedive towards the end.

I'm not done with the Buu saga yet so it might get better, but I find it hard to get motivated to continue watching.

The first is when Namek explodes and Goku is mysteriously lost, the second is when Cell dies, and the third is when Majin Vegeta explodes. That's the point, it's supposed to be for the ultimate martial artists, which makes sense for Goku. And Vegeta becoming the ultimate Saiyan makes sense for him.

I'm kinda sad at myself for not being able to get into Super. I just watched the movies, but it's a little disappointing knowing that I don't know as much DBZ shit as I used to. I guess life goes on. But I also heard they pretty much just stopped making it, so maybe I'll watch it all, one day.

Goku was the coolest when he was the strongest guy in the world but only had a power level of like 300 so he still had to rely on his skills as a martial artist. Somehow things were more lethal despite all the characters being way weaker.

Like look at this fight from Dead Zone. Goku only does a Kamehameha once in the entire movie but it fucking works and straight up obliterates these two dudes.

It was probably the smartest of the shonens, pretty creative in the settings/designs and the progression made sense. Characters that were strong in the beginning remained strong until the end and it never lost its important plot points like DBZ (for example, Seiya remembers/speaks to his sister during the final Hades fight, a theme present since the beginning). The only problem is that it could be a bit overly dramatic and the fights slow. You're also supposed to believe the saints are like 13.

The "heart" of DB died long before Z. The series isn't supposed to be about flashy laser explosions or upgrading your form or whatever other fucking nonsense. The series is supposed to be natural martial arts where strategy overpowers strength.

Kinnikuman's revival
>Lots of new, interesting enemies with unique abilities
>Writer understands that the protagonist's arc is over, so he focuses on everyone else instead
>21 enemies in the first arc. Protag only fights two of those. Doesn't even get to fight the main villain
>Protag's old friends are still useful and each of them get a victory. Even old villains return and fight the new bad guys

Dragon Ball's revival
>More of the same. "God ki" does absolutely nothing besides making you stronger. Hit is the only character with an unique ability, but he has no personality so it's still a boring fight.
>Every arc is about Goku. Everything focuses on Goku. Goku is everywhere.
>One serious antagonist per arc, every other antagonist is a joke (eg: botamo, magetta, frost, cabba and almost every ToP fighter besides Jiren and Kale). Goku defeats all the big guys
>Goku's friends are forgotten. This is the Goku and Vegeta show. No one else is allowed to be relevant (ToP tries to change this, but they only battle characters with no personalities nor interesting abilities, so it's pretty much filler)

DB has the potential to be the best in its simplicity and fights but it's ultimately too predictable and boring to be interesting long-term. Every tournament saga follows the exact same outline bar the last one where goku actually wins. Every non-tournament saga also follows the same outline bar the king piccolo one where they just barely try to shake things up a little bit.
Bitch all you want about shit like DBZ going over board and all that but it consistently tried to shake things up. Important characters dying regularly, Goku actually not being the one to kill the big villain, saga stories actually differing from each other more than just "yeah it's a different villain". Overall able to keep you interested far longer.

Think for a minute how fucking disastrous it would have been if he hadn't intervened. The main gimmick of 19 and 20 was that they could absorb ki attacks. The only way people would be able to beat them would be hand-to-hand combat so then it's all but guaranteed that there would've been even more fucking transformations just so that the characters actually had a chance using natural combat. Probably would've gotten SSJ2, 3, even UI right then and there.
