All for a glorious moment, before he crumples and folds like some kind of warped fleshy paper, his deformed little freak cartoon body falling like sand over the ground as the facade of his equality dissolves under nature.

someone as well-rounded and charismatic as steve harrington wouldn’t be experiencing such newfound social-ineptness. sure it can be argued that stranger things operates entirely as a cultural nostalgia machine meaning that incorporating 80s high school narrative arcs is what they’re trying to emulate rather than real life interactions, but then again steve harrington wasn’t developed as your average high school bully—he had a redemption arc in the first season which was part of the reason people loved him so much. It was a refreshing take on the high school “bully”.

So now having said that, we’re forced to assume that Stranger Things season 3 is in fact now a subject of bad writing that isn’t consistent with the show that it used to be.
