>Who is your favorite giallo director? >What's your favorite giallo film?
I have seen Inferno recently, i didn't really like it. The music, visuals and kills weren't on par with other Argento films i have seen although i did like the final 15 minutes of the film.
Haven't seen it but can't be better than the book.
Joshua Collins
THIS THREAD IS BOOOOOORING
Nolan Perez
Op has continually shown he has no idea about any of this stuff.
But hey, this is Yea Forums / the internet. People don't know shit.
Andrew Reyes
>Giallo >Arthouse When will this meme die? Just because they're old and foreign doesn't mean they're good. Literally Italian 70s blumhouse
Eli Torres
This is the first time i'm making this thread. If i made ART Kenneth Anger, Joao Cesar Monteiro or Theo Angelopoulos edition it would get 2 replies.
Robert Gray
KYS
Logan Bailey
keep it going OP, we need some actual film discussion on this board!
Joshua Foster
Just because it's art it doesn't mean that it is good. In any case following your logic Visconti also shouldn't be in this thread but I don't see you protesting to him.
Robert Richardson
No u
Nolan Sanders
arthouse/avant garde is just codeword for homosexual
Connor Myers
Thoughts on Una Giornata Particolare? Don't appreciate the homo and feminist sympathization but actually pretty good film on fascism I guess.
>Who is your favorite giallo director? No one, fuck giallo >What's your favorite giallo film? None, you faggot. Giallo is shit detective+shit thriller, get yourself a better taste, faggot.
Oliver Taylor
So who is your favorite Czechoslovak New Wave director?
Jason Howard
Obongo Russoueme F. Zdazdzynzky's "A Woman Once Said To Me That There Are Birds That Exist And Then I Slept Through The End of The World" is amazing.12 hours well spent!
John Lopez
I didn't think it would manage to keep me interested for two hours, but it was way better than I expected. The acting is on point. The camera work is also impressive. The only other Ettore Scola film I saw was We All Loved Each Other So Much, which is a truly remarkable film.
Jeremiah Torres
Masterpiece It's really good. Mastroianni is great in it. Scola is a pretty good director. C'eravamo tanto amati, Le Bal, La terrazza, Dramma della gelosia (tutti i particolari in cronaca) and Che ora è? are all good.
Sebastian Collins
Same goes for Czechoslovak New Wave, it's a pile of smelly shit.
Colton Reyes
What's good then?
Jeremiah Morgan
Satantango.
Kayden Bennett
Werckmeister Harmonies and The Turin Horse are better.
Austin Barnes
Been wanting to get into French Surrealism and early experimental film in general. Where's a good place to start? I've heard Un chien andalou and L'Age d'Or are good places to start. I've seen La Coquille et le clergyman and Meshes of the Afternoon and loved both if that helps
Benjamin Cooper
You little faggot dare to argue with me, you little bitch.
John Wood
A Report on the Party and the Guests is one of the best horror films I ever saw, at least until they get to the actual party. The constant threat of violence, the arbitrary rules, being forced to cooperate and humiliate oneself, the intelligent writing - it's what horror is about much for than any shitty American slasher. I don't know how this movie wasn't copied relentlessly. It's like a template for other directors.
Don't ever reply to me you daft cunt. Yes, Bunuel is a good start.
Nolan Jones
>Yes, Bunuel is a good start. Thank you user. If these threads are commonplace on Yea Forums i might start using the board more. I've been wanting somewhere to discuss/get recommendations for art house films.
Brody Green
No problem. Some user started this general recently. It's been going for a week i think. archive.4plebs.org/tv/thread/117460202/#117460413 This is the last big thread i think, there are also links to the previous ones.
I want to watch it, but it's 3 hours and 15 minutes long. Is it worth the time or it random improvised scenes with almost no plot and character? I'm somewhat weary of the french new wave.
Blake Edwards
It does have a plot, but it's a disgusting metaplot
Brandon Robinson
It has a plot and it's quite entertaining. Rivette is my favorite FNW director.
Noah Taylor
>Who is your favorite giallo director? Dario Argento is obviously gonna be the choice of most people, it's a genre dominated by him. But apart from him I guess I'd go with Sergio Martino.
>What's your favorite giallo film? If I disregard Tenebre or The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, then I guess either The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh or Spasmo. I love Spasmo.
