Dani is such a waste of space. To pin a nearly 3 hour film on a protagonist whose a broken down, crying mess with no agency is such a bad idea. I get it, that's the way trauma works. Dani's characterization isn't inaccurate, it's just fucking boring. Maybe that would be fine if rounded out by a supporting cast I could care about, but pretty much everyone was a huge piece of shit. So now I'm utterly disengaged in the fate of the characters and waiting for the film to move from gory tentpole to gory tentpole before ending in, you guessed it, a climax that involves offerings being burned in a big structure. What a fucking snore.
