>Rob Zombie
who?

zoomers out

have you all seen my wife's lack of an ass lately?

Astro-Creep 2000 was the only great thing he's made.

This is good too

youtube.com/watch?v=VcCg_44eppo

I think that 3 from Hell is ultimately going to be really underwhelming. 31 was such a shitty film that showed no signs of him growing as a filmmaker.

Wrong. Best thing he made was Hellbilly Deluxe.

He's pretty cool if you're perpetually 14 years old

He's not really a good director and the quality of his films is wildly inconsistent, but he's got a distinctive style, and that earns him points for me. He's made a few OK movies that I like for what they are(House of a 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects) and one that I think is actually great(Lords of Salem). The rest of them are garbage.

I'm baffled by how this guy has a movie and music career, while being terribly mediocre at both

>zoomers out
is he supposed to be alice coopers son or something?

>but he's got a distinctive style
like ripping off established popular horror films scenes ala tarintino?

No, that's Marilyn Manson

"Hey, guys, Rob Zombie here, with my latest movie 'Please tell me my spoiled-milk whore wife is hot, I'm begging you.'"

I remember hearing him mention in interview to make a biopic about the Marx Brothers. He’s a soft-spoken nerd who’s obsessed with The Munsters, his whole evil dark lord schtick is so at odds with his actual persona.

Dude is pretty pretentious and believes that he's "nerdy".

I only like House of 1000 Corpses

Yes, that's one element of it.

>Marilyn Manson
who?

Hmm. White Zombie were cool.

He started working on Pee Wee's Playhouse

the other element being his obnoxious wife?

Hack

I think he's very talented and probably shit on a little too hard but then again his Halloween remake was just one of the worst ideas of all time.

Lords of Salem could've been so much better but it looked really frustrating. I think he bit off more than he could chew.

Also he needs to just go ahead and put based Sid Haag in everything.

>sherry
who?

House of 1000 corpses peaked at the opening.

Devil's Rejects is great.

I have no idea why he waited this long to get a 3rd movie made. Sid Hieg was old as fuck when Rejects came out.

This.

I love Dragula.

I dunno, if being able to quote every Munsters episode chapter and verse doesn’t make you a nerd, what does?

its spelled Dracula user, Dracula

The first Jet Set Radio made me hate it though.

More like Sillybilly Deluxe

I hate pretty much everything he's ever made but I acknowledge he must have some talent because he's successful

i watched devils rejects as a child and that shit genuinely fucked with me to the point that of nightmares for weeks. its the only movie of his i cant watch

Why does he like showing us his wife's ass? Is he a cuck?

Devil's Rejects is fucking kino, everything else he's done is average at best. Also FUCK GROUCHO

Attached: 1533652551131.jpg (223x249, 8K)

>Why does he like showing us his wife's ass? Is he a cuck?
he and howard stern swap wives too

>look at my hot wife!

Basically every Rob Zombie project post-marriage.

why cant people just leave him alone i think it's cause of his name if his name was ryan walker people wouldent be complaining so much

Astro-Creep 2000 has the best CD booklet of all time

Attached: Astro Creep.jpg (226x223, 20K)

Lords of Salem and House of 1000 Corpses are his only good movies

does anyone get a devil worshiping vibe from him and his wife? or is it all for show for the movies?

Most of his stuff I've seen is decent although Lords of Salem might be the worst fucking movie I've ever seen in my life

I think he has a great style that he just completely throws away with his autism. He could have rebooted horror in a great way, but he just puts out worse and worse shit each time.

Why is he so obsessed with Charles Manson?

Attached: 883full-scout-taylor--compton.jpg (883x587, 77K)

i say theres a 50/50 chance its just an act to be edgy

got lucky with Lords of Salem and Devil's Rejects
shit music but at least could put on a great concert, at least he could 15 years ago

Why yes, I do own the collector's edition of 31. How could you tell?

Attached: 0sftgilsuw131.jpg (699x700, 43K)

Lords of Salem and Devil's Reject were pretty good, but the rest of his movies are crap.

he has good taste, quadbro

80s White Zombie albums are way better.

You might need to sit down for this one.
Some people like different things than you.

He's like 5'7
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

31 was Rob Zombie lashing out. He's one of my favorite working genre directors but 31 was him taking a dump. He was trying to get a hockey movie and a Marx Bros movie off the ground but nobody wanted to give him funding.
>well fuck you don't want me to branch out as a filmmaker? fine have another sleaze fest

I'm hoping he comes back around with 3 From Hell, especially considering it's characters he deeply cares for. Unfortunately, Sid Haig was pretty fuckin' sick during filming so they cut back his role significantly.

A small pinball manufacturer made a game for Rob Zombie. Only 300 units were made. They sold out almost instantly. Spooky Pinball should have charged more. It's not a phenomenal pinball machine, but it has its fans. The ball-saver animation is a pair of testicles being chopped off.
youtube.com/watch?v=UQ4-JYaVIOw
Here's a video. It's gotten some code updates since then.

I absolutely love Halloween 2 and it seems people are finally turning around on it. Lots of really good shit going on there if you can get past Scout Taylor Compton's horrific performance.

The Devil's Rejects and Halloween II are masterpieces, most of his other movies are good to great. One of the only legitimately interesting genre filmmakers working right now.

Scout Taylor Compton is great in Halloween II imo. She's over the top hysterical throughout but that's kind of the point.

Sid Haag has cool teeth.

Attached: spalding.jpg (798x420, 36K)

youtube.com/watch?v=omIIuyssVXM
I'd go for some more animation.

I watched an interview with Sid Haig from the last three years or so, and the poor guy seemed barely there, like he had been fucked up by a stroke or something.

I also think it's Danielle Harris's best performance of her career. (Not that there's a lot of decent shit to choose from)

those aren't his real teeth lmao

He’s an atheist. Irl he’s a vegan

I don't know but I know he holds the rights to make a Broad Street Bullies movie.

official Rob Zombie Yea Forums rankings:

>>>>>Halloween

He was prob just drunk or pilled out.

nah he went through some health scares but is doing better now.

Definitely. Honestly, I think it might even be Brad Dourif's best performance outside maybe Spontaneous Combustion.

Yep. I've never seen such a heartbreaking, genuine performance in a horror movie like the moment when he finds Annie.

I liked Spookshow International even though a lot of people don't. It's an odd layout that really pisses off fan layout plebs but it's a fun shooting game that's really fair. Spooky makes really solid machines too. I own a Total Nuclear Annihilation and love it. Scott is awesome.

Attached: TNAwallpaper4K.jpg (1340x754, 110K)

Yeah, I've never played Spookshow, but it looks cool.

>look at my wife
>LOOK
every single time

I have an unopened first pressing picture disc of Hellbilly Deluxe.

bobby zombie

It's fun and the resale prices make me want to get one. A lot of people also hate the playfield art for being too dark and plain but I just call them ZYplebs. I consider it minimalist.

Yeah? Well you're 5.7 inches lol

Face your fear and defeat it, bro.

let’s see it

Kino

>sherry doesnt need to be in every movie rob holy shit
every director that's married to an actress does this shit

most of the time it's a cuck fetish.

He's the kevin smith of white trash horror

la sexorcisto is the best thing white zombie made. This is known

Lords of Salem>The devil's rejects>Halloween 2>Halloween>House of 1000 corpses>>>>

I was reading an interview a while back about 31 where Rob claimed that he literally came up with the idea for it by demand, off the top of his head, and then cooked up the script in a few days. When he gives a shit, he produces good work. I'm just hoping he gives a shit this time. I guess he has to?

Attached: MIAK.png (939x741, 1.38M)

1000 after Halloween? Interesting. Why do you rate it so low?

You have a point. She worked okay in Corpses but it was much more a comedic tone.

In Salem she came off like she had a hangover all the time and didn't even want to be in it.

Yeah that sounds about right. It definitely comes off as "ha wouldn't a nazi midget speaking spanish be crazy? lets do it"

in Zombie's defense, she was supposed to be slowly getting possessed.
not gonna lie if i made movies i'd probably always have a role for my (hypothetical) wife. if she was around the whole time i was developing the project and characters she would have a good understanding of what i'm going for.

Well better in front of the camera than bickering from behind the director's chair I guess. She handles it better than Schwalbach in Kevin Smith's stuff.

Lords of Salem is frustrating as fuck there's so much good in there but there's just no weight to any of the scenes so I'm not sure how much would've been improved without her.

I like it but I like Scout Taylor Compton more.

Attached: 32432456.jpg (475x594, 72K)

>Lords of Salem is frustrating as fuck there's so much good in there but there's just no weight to any of the scenes
stylish and atmospheric scenes but i agree, no weight.
plus the ending is an absolute clusterfuck. he just didn't know how to end it so i guess said "fuck it let's do a music video with priests and dildos"

Its not even funny how bad those films are.

Someone post the leaks

It feels like he knew what the wanted for the final shot and then just tried to write himself there but it's probably more likely he had a four hour film on his hands and struggled with the editing.

he has a bit of trouble sometimes with endings. Devil's Rejects was obviously kino but H2 slumps at the end after a wonderful first two acts.

>look at my wife's ass
>LOOK AT IT
every single time

Brought back Danielle Harris so for that i give Rob Props. Too bad it was in his worst films
For a guy with a big mouth against modern horror films, he hasn't exactly done a masterpiece so far. Lords of salem had its moments but sadly he focused it on making it a vehicle for his wife instead of making a truly horror film
As a musician, his old band WZ was AEONS better than what he does as a solo artist. Have you noticed how as long as a solo artist the size of the Lyrics on his songs shrank like 80%? He went from "Planet pretty kill, psychoholic slag, tomorrow is another drag" to "Never gonna stop me, never gonna stop" like he isnt bothering anymore.
31 was awful. If 3 from hell goes on the same route he better reform White Zombie becasue i wont care whatever he does next

Shit like most of everything he does. Hellbilly Deluxe was his only work that had SOME quality, his movies unfortunately have no such exception.

*adjusts collar on trenchcoat*
I agree wholeheartedly, brother.

I really like the music video for Meet the Creeper.

Halloween remakes are underrated I enjoy them more then the new reboot

Why do retards honestly say this? His Halloween remake was fucking kino and you're a fucking loser if you disagree.

>s-swasher moobie gud..

Attached: 975A0946-E3C7-4FFD-9C77-65BA9E73E71C.png (1200x1335, 269K)

Making the focus on Myer's childhood was full retard but you sound exactly like the kind of rational user I want to spend time debating with.

This. They were his best movies.

so making the reboot focus on everyone but Michael was better? how was watching Laurie's daughter and husband or her granddaughters friends engaging?
>omg did you see that reference to the movie they retconned how sweet!

Why does him being nerdy surprise you? He's a manlet obsessed with horror movie culture and a specific aged aesthetic

Attached: 1559968168743.png (807x500, 169K)

The fuck is this retarded shit? The first movie had his childhood also, and Rob Zombie's only had a small part of his childhood in it.
People are stupid--that movie was fucking good.

>You're a retard and a loser for not liking a movie that I like
Yep, you're just the type of individual who likes these movies

H2 is kino and will be a beloved horror movie after another ten years.

lmao get some taste, pleb. his halloween was crap.

Rob Zombie if pleb filter. Shitting on his films is reddittier

>No one in this tread has seen his best movie

Based sourdough Papa

i love it, but it's a little painful to watch on like the 6th playthrough. Some songs are a lot weaker than others.
Number of years ago had a student movie night, I brought this and everyone was stonefaced throughout most of it. That was hard to sit through.

I actually liked the opening monologue

>student movie night
What is that?

students come over with alcohol we watch some shitty films, get drunker and eventually people go off and fuck or something.

Lol

The backstory was lazy and cringe
>Why is Michael a psycho? Uh, his family is dysfunctional.
The intro in the first movie shows Michael as a child killing people. No explanation as to why, and it's short.
The backstory in the remake is 40 fucking minutes and is lazy. Fuck off with this "t-they're the same" shit, fag.

Yeah Halloween was garbage. He tried doing something new with the back story then did a shot for shot remake of Carpenter’s. But H2 was fucking great. It was pure unfiltered Rob Zombie Halloween like his first should have been

i own the figure
but the movie was boring and jokes were dull

Attached: el-SuziXMuckupBlister.jpg (320x564, 33K)

here is a very detailed documentary on how rob zombie hated the original HALLOWEEN and how he remade it because he thought little of it
also explains why he accepted the job, is not because he liked it

youtube.com/watch?v=mMVpdUym4r8

Have you ever rubbed you peepee on that figure

Basically this. I like good horror movies, but they’re super rare and don’t come from rob zombie.

House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects were both Kino. Halloween and Halloween II are super underrated too.

so did you enjoy the reboot?
this guys voice is awful man video is ok but fuck

i know he sounds like a cock eater but he did hours of real research and looked up interviews and clips on the subject.

rob zombie was super against horror remakes like dawn of the dead or texas chainsaw

rob said multiple times "ONLY REMAKE BAD MOVIES"
then goes remakes halloween just to secure a contract with the company

i have legit licked the boobs

can i lick where you licked

His movies are pretty trash, and I really only like 2 songs he ever made, but hes got an attractive wife and his life is necromancer chic, and I guess hes got a pretty comfy amount of money. I think hes fairly based.

went to see lords of salem because i thought it would be kino, never watched another rob zombie flick again after that

you watched the more boring and pointless one so if you watch another it won't be worse

yes, the figure is cheap on ebay

this.

He’s my favorite director.
I don’t need a horror film to be this intricate art piece.
His works are vivid and visceral and unapologetically ugly and it’s really freeing to watch them. Haters will hate but he doesn’t care and nei5er do I. So pumped for three

He's like John Carpetner where the greatness of his movies isn't recognized until 10-20 years later. I am not saying he's as great as Carpenter. He's not. But he makes straight kino.

I think he'd better tell me what the fuck is going on with Raised Eyebrows because fuck that shit it's been forever

House of 1,000 Corpses is aesthetically pleasing but he basically blew his load with that, he just had an eye for what looks cool. That movie was banned though and got him some notoriety for that reason, I was intrigued myself as an 18 year old to see it. Then Devils Rejects came out and surprisingly got OK reviews, this is where the rob zombie movie director meme started. Devils rejects is an ok movie but the characters are annoying as fuck and it’s no classic (Hills Have Eyes remake came out around the same time, check that out if you’re into Shlock it’s entertaining). But everything hes released since has been shit, the Halloween remakes were terrible. 31, terrible, Lords of Salem terrible, he needs to stop casting his wife like Op stated. Broad St Bullies movie sounded interesting but I bet he has a shitty script with his wife on the team somehow. White Zombie was cool

Attached: C422976E-132B-4152-8DF3-9DADBA428BE4.jpg (1125x1404, 147K)

I like The Devils Rejects and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

>side pole CAT
>cuttin loose a little RAT
>drinkin with a BAT
>puttin on my HAT

truly a genius

White zombie was based as fuck, hellbilly deluxe was pretty solid, everything after took a nosedive straight into a pile of vegan shit.

>He’s a soft-spoken nerd who’s obsessed with The Munsters, his whole evil dark lord schtick is so at odds with his actual persona.

The members of White Zombie met at a private art school and started out playing semi-ironic NYC trash/noise rock before realizing that playing over-the-top MTV redneck metal was probably gonna sell better for them(even if it wasn't gonna win them the approval of bands like Sonic Youth or Pussy Galore the way their early shit did). He's been laying on the cheese ever since.

>Nobody ever mentions the live action gritty superbeasto Rob was writing, T-Rex

I love Devil's Reject

fuck you stupid asshole.

You’re mad because I like things ?

the plot of 31 was good, really good, but the constant shaky cam, lack of good sets and garbage dialogue ruins it.
the killer actors are retarded and the action is unwatchable...

i am mad that people with garbage taste like you exist and pay for garbage. you probably like slipknot and insane clown pose.

I like neither of those bands ( I’m a David Bowie kinda person ) my tastes are just very aesthetically driven

autistic i see, my bad

HEY I AM DANANANA
DANNANANANAN
DANANANAA AS YOU BURN
21 TO WIN XDD

Ass-burgers unfortunately.
I can tell the difference between bottle coke and can coke every time tho so it does come with perks

He's also kind of a dick, went to ozzfest and he threw a bitch fit on stage after something back stage went wrong, he did sorta apologize for it later but still

Lords of Salem is absolute pleb filter

lords of salem had its budget cut short and story had to be changed

the book based on the first script is much better

I adore House of 1000 corpses and Devil's rejects, they're like unofficial remakes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2.

Halloween is okay, not the best thing ever but far from the worst, Halloween 2 is just sort of meh.

Have not watched Lords of Salem or 31.

>Lords of Salem
if lords didn't have zombies name on it, it would be hailed as much as vvitch or hereditary

Good examples, it's literally Rob Zombie branded Söy Horror

That's just ridiculous. His songs are consistently catchy as hell. He has some shit ones like everyone else, but more good than bad, especially the older shit.

educated horses is criminally underrated

not disagreeing with you, but what makes the modern horror so toothless? what elements should I avoid as a writer/director?

I agree. It might have been shit but I enjoyed it.

Post based rob or white zombie song kino

youtu.be/AbfwqYrDvVE

Zombie basically didn't want to make the movie and it shows. It's a chore to sit through. Watch it with director's commentary if you don't believe me.

Look at Bye Bye Man and then you'll have an idea.
For a monster movie, it was garbage but as an unintentional comedy it was kino.

>Look at Bye Bye Man
um, can I not?

Garbage like SAW and Hostel stole the spotlight, the fact the last few generations have all been ultrasensitive little fuckheads, it was all downhill for horror when Millennials ended up being absolute faggots, zoomers will be even worse.

I don't really know how to answer.
The most recent horror films I have enjoyed have been the Conjuring stuff (specifically Conjuring 1 and Annabelle 2) and before that Triangle(2009).

Most other recent ones either feel too derivative (Hell Fest) and feel like they are going through the motions of the works of better creators.

Or they lean too far on being meta, subversive or high concept without the skill to pull it off.
Meta shouldn't be a huge factor anymore, Scream did that already 20 years ago.
That said I did like The Final Girls, but not as a horror.

Period Piece seems like the easy way out for a lot of these. Some good outfits or a more unique setting to put it apart from the crowd can ease you in but ends up disappointing (Apostle, The Ritual)

I think it's mostly the generation of creators and the events surrounding them growing up. The creators of the 80s would have seen Manson and AIDs and whatever other scares and killings. Without the internet, stuff filtered through the population in a different way than it does now. There was more of an unknown world back then. Nowadays if a shooting happens anywhere in the world, everyone else knows about it while it's still happening.
