good
It's pretty good and (you) liked it
Russians hated it. You should have seen their fuming and seething on their shitty russian forums. Subhuman russians. Never will understand why CIA is helping russians to expand their shitty russian empire. Traitors in CIA?
Sweatie did Russians hurt your peepee?
pitch black with weird shifts in tone but it somehow works
I enjoyed how Zhukov was characterized. Apparently he had even more medals in reality than they were willing to show in the movie.
It was much better than expected, solid 7/10 would watch again
>Russians hated it.
Only pidorashkas. I liked it.
I liked it.
Come here and get your good goy points, liberashka
Tell on yourself to FSB, for Sralin, for the Motherland.
Kino
What was his problem?
You fucken russians are only tough in small countries close to your shitty borders, try to invade Poland. Polyaks will show you subhumans who is the ubermensch. If not for CIA helping russians in border countries russia would be sucking bear dicks.
Beria was based and used russian girls as american young white guys should.
First half or so was hilarious. The second half was more dramatic but still gave some good chuckles
the Soviet archives contained the official testimony from Colonel Rafael Semyonovich Sarkisov and Colonel Sardion Nikolaevich Nadaraia, two of Beria's most senior NKVD bodyguards. They stated that, on warm nights during the war years, Beria was often driven slowly through the streets of Moscow in his armored Packard limousine. He would point out young women to be detained and escorted to his mansion, where wine and a feast awaited them. After dining, Beria would take the women into his soundproofed office and rape them. Beria's bodyguards reported that their duties included handing each victim a flower bouquet as she left Beria's house. Accepting it implied that the sex had been consensual; refusal would mean arrest. In one incident, his chief bodyguard, Sarkisov, reported that a woman who had been brought to Beria rejected his advances and ran out of his office; Sarkisov mistakenly handed her the flowers anyway, prompting the enraged Beria to declare, "Now it's not a bouquet, it's a wreath! May it rot on your grave!" The NKVD arrested the woman the next day.[25]
.
>Beria's sexually predatory nature was well known to the Politburo, and though Stalin took an indulgent viewpoint (considering Beria's wartime importance), he said, "I don't trust Beria." In one instance, when Stalin learned his daughter was alone with Beria at his house, he telephoned her and told her to leave immediately. When Beria complimented Alexander Poskrebyshev's daughter on her beauty, Poskrebyshev quickly pulled her aside and instructed her, "Don't ever accept a lift from Beria."[28] After taking an interest in Marshal Kliment Voroshilov's daughter-in-law during a party at their summer dacha, Beria shadowed their car closely all the way back to the Kremlin, terrifying Voroshilov's wife.
Was he /ourguy/?
First half was funny, last half took a turn for seriousness
>ourguy
Indeed, Beria was based. Even though history paints him to be horrible, things would have been better with him in charge, since he was actually much more amenable to negotiations with the U.S. and Europe than Khrushchev. The Cold War might have been a softer landing, and America might not have sperged out so hard about “muh gommunism”
>inb4 go to /but/
How bad is censorship over there and consequently, do people love western film because if it’s over-the-top no fucks given attitude or do you just see it at cheap schlock and drivel that appeals to low hanging fruit?
That's a lot of medals.
/int/
t. phone posting fag
>You fucken russians are only tough in small countries close to your shitty borders, try to invade Poland.
they did. they drove the Germans out at the end of the second world war, and they came damn close to driving the Poles out as well.
They already invaded Poland. More than once I think.
well he should have thought about that before being a fucking rapist
A little bit above mediocre. Not particularly funny but if you think you're smart for knowing who Stalin is and passing AP comp gov you'll certainly like it. The cast does the best they can with a fundamentally pretentious script
It's geared towards chapo trap house fans and similiar ilk. Very complimentary towards the viewer so don't feel like you have know anything about Russian politics to enjoy the picture. It's made with smug and self-satisfied Westerners, especially anglo and anglo-derived countries (USA), in mind
Nah he deserved worse than a bullet to the head, even fucking Stalin would agree
it feels a bit like a tv movie at times but its still the only comedy I've seen this decade that had a respectable amount of laughs.
Paul Whitehouse showing up was a nice surprise too as I hadn't seen him on any of the posters.
Its really good, the opera scene is based on real events and so is the scene of them trying to switch places at the funeral
It's a good comedy but the events are almost all fictional.
Molotov turning on Beria because he didn't really want his wife back or the orthodox bishops released felt really off.
Only Americans think knowing who stalin is makes you "smart", he was one of the most significant figures in the 20th century
Michael Palin was great.
Style of humor is very British, i.e. once in a while you may be forced to break out into a raucous smile.
Fell asleep after 10 minutes. Absolute trash.
Not surpring since he was the main reason the Germans were defeated in WW2
>Molotov turning on Beria because he didn't really want his wife back
I think he genuinely loved and cared for his wife he was just frightened of going against the official party line. Beria put him in a compromising position.
American humour : Stalin cracks wise
one of the prisoners farts before getting shot
Grown men screaming like children
The american version would have been sooooooooooooooooooooo much better aye?
Fucking retard.
all he wanted was that sweet german loli
For you
>he said he has papers on all of us he just said that
>...I WAS OVER THERE
>Dude, just pile on them!
Fucking hilarious.
Boring unfunny thrash
Kino travel documentaries.
Russians have zero sense of humour and dont understand satire.
>Molotov turning on Beria because he didn't really want his wife back
When did this happen?
I'm shocked by its historical accuracy.
i'm sure this movie with a star cast of established actors was directed to 10 000 listeners of a niche podcast
i'm also certain that godzilla king of monsters was geared towards listeners of castlesuperbeast
Ever heard of Dr. Strangelove, faggot? Suck a dick, Nigel.
>expect it to be lame like Hail Caesar
>it's actually the best comedy I've seen in a long time
Severe lack of PoC coupled with any female leads, or female roles of much substance, means this is a hard pass and not recommended OP
Pretty god awful.
Whoever thought improv for out of practice comedians needs 20 years in gulag.
i liked it, you guys know any movies simmiliar to it?
i havent watched many comedies lately but i just binged all 3 Austin Powerses and want some more
If you were a greasy balding manlet who had basically been given supreme control over every minute aspect of your entire populace's lives, I'm sure you'd be inclined to do the same
I enjoyed this film but Armando will never be able to top The Day Today, Time Trumpet or his self titled sketch show for me.
youtube.com
>"You're english is coming on so well"
OP here
Just watched it, not that bad
Only laughed a few a times, but I wasn't bored. It was an amusing film to say the least.
Probably the funniest parts in the movie to me have to be
>The entire coup scene, including the trial
>Krushcev awkwardly trying to switch places at the funeral
and
>Beria sperging out about the files he has on everyone
Zhukov was definitely my favorite character. Fucking based the whole movie
A solid 7/10 or 8/10
Wasn't fantastic, but wouldn't mind watching again
Dumbass conservatives sucked its dick for a month when it came out. Wtf are you smoking
