probably the same thing the guy on youtube told them to think
unreadable book
unwatchable movie
(OP)
It's the best version and anyone who disagrees or is confused by is a genetic defect.
not a good adaptation of the book. the things it invented weren't great. the things it adapted were hit or miss. I enjoy it but I love the book and view it as mostly unrelated.
Why does it add "OP" when I edit? I am not OP.
>unreadable book
>unwatchable movie
>identifies as a literal mongrel dumbass
Checks out.
Bad adaptation in many respects but still kino, the Baron is great and Paul is perfectly cast, and that's not even getting into the Lady Jessica
its fucking awful
lynch tries to blame the studio for it but its his fucking fault
Only dumb people don't "get" the plot or are offended by the internal monologue. Based Lynch made THE NPC movie filters for the ages.
unwatchable
tryhard magnet, an excellent way to distinguish between a poser and a true connoisseur
internal dialogue, the movie
*blocks your path*
Wasn't the internal monologue something Lynch was against and they added it during final cut, once he no longer had control?
David Lynch seems to hate it but I think there’s a lot of redeeming qualities.
>its suppose to be bad
no, fuck off
Lady Jessica a cute
>I'm a brainlet but havent realized yet
the 3 hour cut is kino, the theatrical version is horrible.
I always loved Dune. But it was released when critics had more power than they deserved. It would probably be well received if it was released now. And if you slapped a marvel or Star Wars logo on it’d be a hit.
It’s only flaw was bad affects.
I doubt it since he signs off on the rights for Dune 1984 time and time again. He just disowns the TV version. I prefer the TV version, but his condensed version is OK too.
Yyyyyyyyyy-ikes! *explodes a soiboi somewhere*
The miniseries was god awful. People just pretend it’s good because critics told them the lunch movie was bad.
got the atmosphere right
something that villeneuve has no hope to achieve
the soundtrack was amazing, Brian Eno is kino.
Visually interesting but narratively broken. They tried to stuff too much into a single movie.
Faggot! Aids Carrying Swine!
it's ok but the sci-fi channel miniseries remains the best adaptation despite the now dated CGI
this guy knows what's up based
>t. guy whose never watched it
The soundtrack alone made this film

i love it, but it's a mess.
Garbage adaption of the book. Probably the most experimental blockbuster of all time. If I wasnt such a fan of the book I would of had no fucking clue what was going on
Lynch should have gone and adapted God Emperor of Dune instead. One of the weirdest sci-fi novels ever written, adapted by one of the weirdest film-makers.
It would have been pure arthouse.
ITT: literal morons who can't appreciate a masterpiece because the inner monologue interferes with their phoneposting
Everything by Lynch is shit.
Kino
f(x)=x^3 where x is your rating of Dune between 0-10 and f(x) is your IQ
Great casting
Great costumes
Patchy at best SFX
Interesting music
Bad pacing
Westwood studios has made the only good Dune adaptions. They even got John Malkovich to play a role.

5 star post
I literally watched it last week. Hurt is phoning it in, the sets look like a kids tv show, the CGI is bad even for the sci-fi channel, the only good things are the performances of the baron and Alia.
Children of Dune was a bit better but way too condensed.
Yea Forums will think that it's either complete shit or utter genius, as with anything else.
I think it's an enjoyable movie that tries a lot of stuff, with some hits and plenty of misses.
It's never going to be your favorite movie, but I recommend you at least give it a go.
