Because ST was at the height of its meme popularity
This.
S1 9/10, S2 4/10, S3 8/10. Don't @ me you know I'm right.
S3 was 7/10
Season 3 is fucking garbage.
>Haha I can beat your burp by farting
>Hey fart face haha
>Sassy little girl thats full of sass and attitude
What the fuck is wrong with you people?
S1>S2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>S3
Did they really had to cuck Steve like that?
I'm so sorry that you never had friends growing up, user.
>S1>S2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>S3
you're a joyless creep
This, season 3 was trash and the first two seasons weren't amazing to begin with.
>An absurd amount of meandering for a series of its short length, so many scenes of characters just bickering back and forth that never went anywhere meaningful of progressed their relationship/s in a satisfying way
>"Alright we have Mike and Eleven in a relationship, but damn writing a relationship sure is hard. What do? I know, let's asspull some contrived eyeroll worthy conflict that will keep the two separated for most of the season. That way when the conflict is resolved it will feel like their relationship wasn't progressed at all!"
>Terrible injections of ""comedy"" in odd places, prior seasons had mostly serious climaxes with high stakes, this one's ends on a wet fart filled with fireworks used as explosives and meme singing
>Most if not all plot setups were extremely predictable and by the numbers, "hurr your summer gf totally isn't real, am I right audience? Winkwink"
>Characters feel almost out of character and obnoxious, kids are no longer kids and thus dont have the charm they used to, now all of them come off as obnoxious brats
What garbage. Fucking predicted that "THREE MONTHS LATER" shit at the end too, what lazy fucking writing. "Uhhh we don't wanna have to write Eleven being told of her adoptive father's death and her processing it and overcoming the trauma, le timeskip
>Did they really had to cuck Steve like that?
How do you get cucked when the girl you like is a dyke? He will find a girl. He's just not found his calling yet. He will become a cop and marry his true love. It's coming.
>He will find a girl.
or a boy
90%? 94%? We live in pleb times...
Stranger things is like 50% for 80% of the runtime and about can vary between 60 - 80% in rating during the good actually upside down related part of the plot (and those parts are scarce as fuck)
No,we cant agree you faggot
You're just a normalfag retard. This season was a soulless cash grab.
Is stranger things worth watching? I know nothing about it. What is the appeal of it? what is the premise?
The first season at least if you are curious.
It's a fun horror live Letter to the 80s. If you hate 80s nostalgia and are tired if it by now then dont.
Boooo
if you are a pedophile, retarded or addicted to binge watching sure
This shitty season got 90%? WTF were these plebs watching because it wasn't the same season I was watching. This season was booorrrringggggg and stupid
Why did they release the entire season on one date? Am I just a brainlet?
Not a netflix user or American so I wouldn't know
2nd half of season 1 was pure shit though. Take off your nostalgia goggles zoomer
I actually thought season 3 was better than season 2 and the last few eps of season 1. Anyone else?
First half of s1 is still peak ST though.
2 was so fucking dull, 3 is a massive step up
Anyone who prefers 2 because of duh monstuhs is a complete retard, the enemies were never ever what made ST good, they're so generic and boring
Agreed. S3E6 was so boring though. It made me keep checking the time. S3E8 was such a good episode.
The first half of the season sucked. The writing was noticeably worse, Hopper especially, and too many of the characters are veering into "convenient genius" territory, especially the creatura kid, black sassy math girl, conveniently speaks 4 languages ice cream lesbian and Hopper who wildly flouts any rules and bitches like a snivelling child about his personal problems. I mean, honestly, the interactions between him and Joyce felt like a more believable teenage drama relationship than anything the kids experienced.
The latter half, and especially the last few episodes were pretty good though. To be honest, the series felt like it could have honestly been a movie rather than a whole season.
Oh yeah it was definitely better desu. It had a pretty good horror vibe going with it, and the flow was definitely more consistent. Steve still saving tho show tho.
I haven't seen S3 yet.
Some questions I have before going in...
1. Do they explain why the Upside Down has structures from the real world in it? Obviously the monsters there didn't build them.
2. Do they explain why in season 1 there is just one demogorg in the whole UD but in S2 there are all these dog things and not a single Demogorg? Also it seems like the Mind Flayer or whatever that tornado spider thing was finds people pretty quickly but in S1 was nowhere to be seen.
3. Does Steve actually "win" at all? In S1 it was nice seeing him get a taste of his own medicine but in S2 they blew him the fuck out
>No
>No
>Steve falls in love with a lesbian and got blown the fuck up. He did save Nancy and the others from Billy though.
They always release entire seasons in 1 day
>still never explaining the Upside Down, Mind Flayer and his plans, the Russians beyond 'we want bio weapons', and no Brenner or other subjects
Boring bullshit. When 11 first showed up on that beach, I, for a second, expected this to be a parallel earth we'd see get taken over by the Upside Down creatures showing that they have destroyed worlds before and move around like a plague. Also, Back to the Future. That alone makes me wonder if they'll do a season where Earth does become utterly fucked and they have to do time travel to reverse the Upside Down monsters taking over. It'd be more exciting than the stale shit of s2 and s3.
>explain shit
>Netflix series
Boy you have not been paying attention. Netflix trash never explains anything.
It goes like this, season 1 sets up interesting characters and lore which drags you into the world. The first season is always the best. Second will expand upon those ideas slightly but not reveal anything fully as the illusion of content is there so you stick around for the third. The third will inevitably turn whatever genre a series is into day time tv drama as the characters relationships replace everything, nothing is explained further and you're left wondering why you bothered in the first place.
All netflix shows are 1 > > > 2 >>>>>> 3 >>>>> why are you even watching this shit still
The biggest problem i have with this season is understanding how the fuck did the russians build a Giant underground base in america during the cold war
He wins a fight against a random mook. Then Dustin makes a joke about him always losing.
i second this...
>tunnel alone would take years and create insane amounts of man power and equipment
>lel look how cool this elavator is!
Holy fuck was that base bad. It made zero sense.
based
How did the Russians even get away when the US army arrived? Do they have a teleporter or something? Also, I think it's bullshit if Hopper survived. He was in the blast zone and it won't make sense for him to be in Russia with that post credit scene.
This is the problem with inserting a lesbian character. It can never be just A lesbian character. Because by show's end we'd ideally like most of the main characters to have paired off so they can live happily ever after. One lesbian upsets the balance, so now they need to throw a new lesbian in next season to give her a happy ending, and another female character for Steve to pair off if they want to end with a happy ending for him too. As if the cast wasn't crowded enough already.
this show is for fruit cakes
The monster design in S3 is kino
It looked good. The Mind Flayer and the monster at the hospital looked great for CGI. I think they even used some practical here and there. It definitely doesn't like the bad ones you see in the MCU or more mainstream movies.
>One lesbian upsets the balance
Imagine thinking this way.
looked boring. Badly animated as well.
retard critics, season 3 is miles better than 2
Or why absolutely nobody alerted the government sooner. They’ve been through this twice now. Maybe just call up the men in black the second you find a Russian underground base eh?
Just started watching season 3, what am I supposed to think of it?
The upside down is a mirror of our world which is why it's the same. It's the "bottom of the tightrope" as explained in season 1 with the flea and the acrobat metaphor
Is the Mind Flayer still alive? Is this how it worked:
>small fragment of him survived in Hawkins after gate is closed
>awakens from dormancy when gate is opening
>creates flesh physical vessel
>is destroyed when gate is closed
But the big shadowy prick is still around in the Upside Down, right?
just make steve gay
I think it's bullshit Joyce didn't grab the fucking gun in the room and shoot the big Russian guy off of hopper and if he did die then season 4 is going to be complete shit
Episodes 3 and 8 of S3 were probably the best out of the whole series.
The show is a 7/10 at best
so Jim is alive and in Russia, right
>not the American
Yes.
But how was there a white demongorgon if they had closed the portal?
You think it was a waste of time because they flanderised my favourite characters.
this show was never good
No he's dead. Brenner is alive.
>Sassy little girl thats full of sass and attitude
worst part of the show all seasons combined.
What do Demogorgons eat while they’re in the Upside Down
Alexei mentioned other portals around the world
it wasn't even staffed with secret service, either, but by the fucking, non-english speaking, fully geared, red army. Did they just drop a battalion from an Antonov?
no they didn't. this is a marginal difference and season 3 has higher average rating.
kys
It takes place on the mid-80s and has a campy 80s vibe, that’s about the gist of the appeal
>1. Do they explain why the Upside Down has structures from the real world in it? Obviously the monsters there didn't build them.
No but it's becoming increasingly obvious that the Upside Down was likely an alternate dimensional plane that was given the physical appearance of Hawkins when 11 entered it
11 will probably die in the final season to destroy it once and for all since she obviously has a "link" with it
>2. Do they explain why in season 1 there is just one demogorg in the whole UD but in S2 there are all these dog things and not a single Demogorg? Also it seems like the Mind Flayer or whatever that tornado spider thing was finds people pretty quickly but in S1 was nowhere to be seen.
The demogorg was an idea for the self-contained story that is season 1. Once it became obvious that this was a hit show, the show writers created the Mind Flayer to serve as a longer-lasting series antagonist/final boss. So for all intents and lore purposes, it was there in season 1, they just didn't run into it. As far as the demodogs go, that's anyone's guess but the logical explanation would be they are an earlier metamorphosis stage of a demogorg.
>3. Does Steve actually "win" at all? In S1 it was nice seeing him get a taste of his own medicine but in S2 they blew him the fuck out
He gets his redemption moment against Billy and also beats up another rando so technically in the overall series he's 2-2 now. He does get btfo of a new relationship though.
The Jonathan actor looks so weirdly sickly. Did the Duffers make sure the actor didn't use his wealth to Chad himself up in his contract and keep him looking as frail and sickly as he did in s1?
Coke addiction
Formally is getting stale now. Gate opens up, Mind Flayer is a fucking prick, they close it. What exactly are they going to do for s4 if not a fucking retreat? If they want a grand finale radically different from everything that preceded it in s5 that keeps in with 80's nostalgia shit, have Earth get fucked up by the Mind Flayer and them using time travel to reverse it with all the obvious Back to the Future inspiration.
>ROTTEN TOMATOES: SEASON 2
Rotten Tomatoes season 1 was kino
The s1 Armond White story arc is something I doubt they can top.
This ENTIRE show is shit
>implying he cant overcome her issue with one good dosage of the D
I mean it would be nowhere near the first time a female has claimed to be lesbian or bisexual until 1 dicking changes her mind, especially so for high school chicks.
The real issue would be the faux outrage from the lgbbqtzp community that a gay character was turned straight
I agree. It's getting tired. Ethan Hawke's daughter is cute, but that's negated by the sassy black girl being irritating.
Thy only show the reviewers the first 2 episodes or so of the season. So yeah honestly I'd put early season 2 above early 3. You got Mike Will friendship, Halloween, Billy being cool, Hopper Eleven bonding. In 3 you get awkward makeouts, everyone breaking up, newspaper subplot, no one feels like they even like each other anymore.
If you grew up watching Spielberg and Carpenter movies or read a lot of Stephen King, you'll dig it.
>show adds perfect 10l/10 waifu
>bitch anyway
RT based again. S1>>S2>>>S3
>time travel
ugh
I mean I'll concede that it would probably work better for Stranger Things than in most pop dramas, but still, the fact that these kids specifically keep going on these crazy interdimensional adventures is starting to get unbelievable.
When season 2 was actually doing it's own thing and not crutching on season 1, it was really good. It also had a better final boss moment than 1 did.
She's only a bitch because she likes Steve and girls cockblock you when they like you. Back when I worked retail I had a coworker do this to me with cute girls that would come in. It was annoying.
S2 was clearly different to S1. S3 was not clearly different to S2. Ergo, S3 is stale on release and the franchise is dead.
Why didnt you fags like s2?not counting the punk diversity squad
It's far too serious to be campy or fun tho
Did this series become a kid show in this season or did I just notice it now?
she races with season 2 poo in the loo girl at being annoying
They saw that garbage credits sequence and knocked it down a few pegs. God, that pissed me off
All pretty valid points. I'll add in the terrible credits sequence that ONCE AGAIN pulled the "hurr durr, they're not really dead!" garbage. PLUS they're doing the demogorgon again? Come on, now...
>It also had a better final boss moment than 1 did.
No it didn't. I'm fucking tired of "battles" where eleven screams very loudly and uses her force powers. The new season sucked but at least they nerfed her and did something different to defeat the monster
This is what you think a perfect 10 looks like?
>ummffffffhmmmm help me duffers
literally how netflix has always worked
Poor froggo
Jesus Christ how embarassing
At least one of them can act. BTW, am I the only one who thinks froggo is on par with smug nigress in terms of bad acting this season?
I think froggo is the one that has improved the most this season desu. He’s more of a teenager now than a kid. Although sometimes he acts more like Richie Tozier than Mike but that’s probably just the script
Season 2 had really great things about it, but somehow seemed less than the sum of its parts. Like it had Bob and the Winter Ball and Eleven/Hopper relationship and lots of individual things that were technically better, but it just didn't seem to come together. Whereas S3 didn't really have as much standout stuff like that, except maybe Suzie, but still seemed like a more coherent and a better whole product.
It's not out of a 100. It's how many people thought it was good enough.
Why does Will look like a tranny in too much makeup this season?
>Hotter than Phoebe Cates
youtu.be
Do americans really believe that?
Was there ever an explanation as to WHY she was nerfed? What happened that caused her to lose her powers?
>characters relationships replace everything
I could actually live with this. Instead we got three different plots, meaning the characters barely mixed and interacted with each other at all. The following is literally all of the relationships explored over 8 episodes.
Eleven-Mike
Eleven-Hopper (slightly)
Eleven-Max
Mike-Hopper (slightly)
Mike-Will (slightly)
Hopper-Joyce
Steve-Dustin
Steve-Robin
Nancy-Jonathon
Bauman-Alexei
Mrs Wheeler-Billy
There was no clear explanation, but probably the monster biting her leg somehow made her super weak
She used her power too much and Max was kinda making her to abuse it, doing the opposite of what Mike told them because they don’t listen to listen to the men
Statistically proven people likely binge whole season if they get to watch whole thing this way.
This. I'm not as hyped about the show anymore, but if you rewatch it now it's objectively 1 > 3 > 2. 2 was dogshit. They should also stop the thousand-man-band next season and start focusing on one or two groups, rather than like every fucking child and adult getting ten of their own scenes every season. Shit's simple to follow but feels convoluted to watch. It's going to be especially hard to get new people into it now. It has 3 seasons with lore. Telling the simplest premise, "A group of kids attempt to stop an alien invasion created by an evil organization," becomes a real mouthful when you also add, "There are a lot of D&D references and the aliens come from an alternate universe know as The Upside-down. The main girl of the group has superpowers cultivated by the evil scientist group." Shit's getting to be too much. This is why nobody new will watch like Westworld or The Handmaid's Tale, or any other crap, because there's too much world built. A good story takes little space but gives the cinematic impression that there's a larger world around the protags.
>underground facility that has a 3 hr long tunnel
>siphons from power grid without govt noticing
What I don't get is why more half the season revolved around the Russian base, is this meant to be a nod to the 'ebil soviets' trope in the 80's? This really seems to be the only explanation for why the show has full-on 50's style soviet uniforms UNDER US GROUND. Other than for setting up the interrogation scene that felt like it was someone's fantasy the whole time, I don't understand the purpose of this excessively long plot hole.
post suzie feets
You could see Finn was expecting an innocent little peck but Millie went into it full french style like an old experienced woman
>Caring about the RT score for a fucking web series
Based Millie trying to cure froggo's gayness
Why didn't the Americans and Russians just NOT try to contact interdimensional fucking demogorgons and stick to waving nukes at each other instead?
Daredevil was actually 1 > 3 > power gap >> 2
>season 2 7.88/10
>season 3 8/10
learn to check the actual ratings retards
youtu.be
You smiled didn't you?
Was it Kino?
I want to breed with Sadie and her thighs
The first 4 episodes of season 2 were fantastic. Everything went to shit as soon as Electra showed up.
What the fuck was up with that scene? It reeked of product placement, but for a product that has long gone extinct.
haven't finished the season, huh?
She looks like she's going to end up with Chloe "the Muscles" Moretz build.
Looks like she can kill Will with her barehands
She's been practicing with Drake
Agreed. The camera work is so shoddy. There isn’t a scene that lasts more than three seconds before they cut. Writing is terrible. They’ve made the characters annoying and it doesn’t help that they all have gotten more ugly
This season is bad but it has the hottest Mike yet
They actually reissued it as a tie-in
The spy stuff was the best part of the season and they should have focused more on it than the spooky scary shitslime monster
His wig now looks ridiculous and his clothes made him look like a lanky retard.
Imagine being Finn in that scene and being all like...
Based Finn hating Millie
>Mike tells El she is using his power to much
>Max went full retard saying El wil know when is enogh
>El obeys Max
>The writters want to make Max right with things like Mike opening his feelings and saying sorry
>Mike ends up being right and El ends up all fucked up without Powers
>No one ever make Max to see see she was wrong
Fucking girl power shit
S2 > S1 > S3 > S2e7
prove me fucking wrong
It would explain his empathy with Will. They both hate Eleven.
>>youtube.com
What the fuck was his problem?
House of Cards best season was 2
millie wants his teen peepee baaaad
How is that a problem?
Holy fuck Millie is STILL thirsty as fuck for Finn Dick
youtu.be
she is very average looking and with his actor cred he can have any 10/10 teen vegana he desires
Why is she so touchy with him? Is she bff with Jacob Grazer?
Damn Will looks ready for his boipucci to be pounded when he has a good haircut.
wait a minute, shes british?
ew... ew
Why did this little shit cause all that romance drama between El and Mike?
shes a thirty closeted dyke who can't stand to see other people happy
Because otherwise they'd have had to give her an Lucas something important to do rather than just Being Mike and El's relationship councilors. Even Will had more of an independent plotline this season, and he had four lines. Why the fuck didn't they just have her doing something with Billy instead?
Nah pretty sure the big shadowy prick was the mind flayer in the Upside Down, and he got out since the russians opened the gate
both accurate. also s3 felt just too familiar.
1) open rift
2) monsters grow stronger
3) find monster
4) close rift in epic battle underground
its the same as in s2.
S1 > S2E7 > The rest
>Why the fuck didn't they just have her doing something with Billy instead?
Because they couldn't write anything for Billy in the first place and instead made him a fucking zombie right off the bat
>tfw no punished Billy arc
Poor billy didn't even get to slurp those god tier milf juices
someone made an edit of murray saying "have sex"... yes?
Yeah, completely wasted character.
>dude I loved my mother and hate my father
That scene with the nigger shitting itself was disgusting
This. Watch Lucas dump her ass for good
maybe the characters are less irritating because I know people just like them in real life. That "annoying smart little girl" type is unfortunately something I've encountered a few times and they hit it really well here.
Poor Finn ;_;
No
no, it's Murray who's in Russia (got caught after the events) and Jim is in the Upside Down - did you not catch the last lines he said: "Leave the door three inches open for your poor old dad." it's literally right there. He escaped into the portal and season 4 they're going to have to rescue him.
S1 10/10 S2 8/10 S3 10/10
fuck off back to pol
>Punished Bill: A hero denied his milfs
>tfw will never live in a small close-knit village community where everyone knows everyone else
Its Brenner.
Billy is the only character who I felt was wasted this season. I mean he's a pretty interesting complex character, but that all went out the window when he immediately became a mind-slave. Pretty sad that we won't get to see a redemption arc or him change in any way.
What the fuck is her problem?
She's a dyke in denial. Next season she's going to get graphically raped by Robyn.
All I have is this.
that's gonna suffice. thanks, comrade
she's got that 14-year-old "I have a boyfriend so I know everything about the world" thing going on. It's pretty authentic, but authentically annoying is still annoying. Same with the little girl with steve and dustin.
What the fuck is their problem? How did they find the time to construct an underground fortress with multiple levels in less than a year? Why didn't the lab notice their activities? Where did all the staff evacuate to?
She wanted to see Mike taking a massive shit
>How did they find the time to construct an underground fortress with multiple levels in less than a year?
this is really the one thing I'd want more foreshadowing of. Just some "the construction of the mall went way over budget" or something about construction having gone on there for a long time, but it really felt like a stretch to ask us to believe they built that entire thing and imported all those russian-only-speaking scientists without the government knowing between the events of seasons 2 and 3.
farewell, Yea Forums
C'mon, if you did some clandestine spy shit in a foreign country, you'd certainly just bring over your own dudes with zero knowledge of the local customs and language and have them all wear uniforms.
What was with all the meme humor this season? Like, what in the fuck was that Neverending Story scene? It completely ruined the pacing and tension of the otherwise serious climax. Why can't stories just be dramatic and serious nowadays? Why does fucking everything have to have Marvel tier meme humor?
Everyone would just call it a ripoff of Endgame.
He better actually be dead. I hate that he may still be alive. It would completely ruin that otherwise beautiful ending (yeah I said it)
Maybe there’s more to the Hawkins base they let on to? So they just redid it.
They can also just kill him off.
>Why does fucking everything have to have Marvel tier meme humor?
Blame Joss Whedon for that, Buffy and Firefly had that type of humor constantly, so when he was brought on to write and direct The Avengers, he naturally carried it over to the movie and it caught on with audiences. That's why its found in most blockbuster movies nowadays
the ending was fucking shit
I think the complete opposite.
I think Netflix wants to make it a kid show but the Duffer brothers want it to be darker.
The whole way the Mind Flayer remakes itself with melted human, like half-Blob, half-The Thing, was pretty terrifying.
Also, lot more swearing then previous seasons.
How so?
list of episodes where nancy is near nude? thanks.
No it wasn't. It's not scary to show feelings faggot
Well they were bribing the mayor...
They had some weird promotional thing were they actually re-released New Coke.
Reminder, if Suzy just gave them the code immediately, Hopper and Joyce would have destroyed the machine before the Commienator found them.
>people still care about Nancy when Robin exists
This. Season 1 was legitimately quite dark and mature. Eleven killed innocent people. Jonathan was a massive fucking creep and paid the price (which somehow makes Steve an asshole). Barb was killed and forgotten. Hopper sold out Eleven to save Will. You just don't see things like that anymore. It's obvious that Netflix capitalized on the popularity and made the show more digestible and "safe."
>Netflix just wants to be safe
Also manbabies:
>REEEEEE LESBIANS
Season 3 has a scene where a guy's face gets vaporized in slow mo and all cronenberg body horror with the Mind Flayer was pretty dark
I definitely liked this season better then the second.
But I do hope the Duffer Brothers keep their word and try to make the next one the last one. It is kind of getting old and there’s only so much you can do with the characters.
Also we see a teenage girl get murdered by Billy, who then proceeds to murder her family.
That scene where the flayed citizens' bodies gets mutated after getting damaged reminded me a lot of Resident Evil 7
Visually, yes. But I want more narrative and character risks. Things that are more mature and complex than "let's kill the big scary monster again!"
I’m just glad we didn’t get any more of that X-Men rip-off group that Eleven is a part of for one episode.
It honestly feels like Netflix told the Duffer Brothers there wasn’t enough Eleven in their season 2 script so they quickly wrote that episode. I mean, S1 and S2 both have eight episodes and S2 has nine.
Yeah. That street shitting paki bitch was random as fuck
>shitty hopper voice over
>shitty heroes covers in the background
>everyone so sad and melancholy
it feels forced as fuck. we could have at least seen what actually happened to the characters like where they were moving, what the new job was etc. all the characters are still sad and in mourning like from the havoc pre the three months later card. didn't feel like a real resolution at all
A number of citizens (including children) died just to create masses of flesh for the Mind Flayer to assimilate and Eleven gets the shit beat out of her to the point that she probably won't be able to use her powers in awhile. So there are consequences
Bravo Nigflix
That shitty Heroes cover is by Peter Gabriel and it’s actually great.
It was used in Season 1 too.
It was boring as fuck
>we could have at least seen what actually happened to the characters like where they were moving, what the new job was etc. all the characters are still sad and in mourning like from the havoc pre the three months later card. didn't feel like a real resolution at all.
They're obviously reserving that shit for the next season, the ending was basically teasing "where will they go from here"
>>shitty heroes covers in the background
Its called bookends user, the song first played when Joyce left the house in the first season and they're playing it now because the family is leaving the house permanently
Nameless extras dying offscreen =/= consequences
this show was never good
>the song first played when Joyce left the house in the first season
i thought the played it when they found the fake will in the lake
Well, it seems like it brought Hawkins on to national notoriety.
I bet you the next season has everyone moved away cause no one wants to live in Hawkins anymore.
>S1 8/10
>S2 6/10
>S3 4/10
Is anyone else happy they referenced Day of the Dead and even used some of it’s great music?
That movie needs to be more well known.
So S1 (8/10) > S3 (7/10) > S2 (5/10). Season 1 was pretty solid and hit all the right notes to make it feel like I was actually watching something from the 80s, Season 2 was mediocre because it was obviously trying to capitalize on the newfound success of the series and was filled with rethreads of plotlines from the first season, Season 3 was a big improvement over the last season and I liked that it felt like an actual continuation of the overall story rather than reusing the same story beats
It's been three months, not three years. Have you ever lost a close friend or parent? You don't just get over it in three months.
im not saying everything would be okay in 3 months. but it felt unsettled unlike then endings of S1 and 2. there should be at least some resolution
The scene where they find Will's "body" immediately plays after the Demogorgon invades Joyce's house
Jay liked it.
S3 is a diffent kind of bad than s2 for me. It feels like a complete disrespect of s1. It's almost as if the duffers have no real writing experience and stole the idea from someone.
Most of the plotlines have been resolved by the end of the season, the only reason why there's going to be season 4 is because of the russians
S3 has a 'spy kids' vibe to it, feels like a tween thriller. Completely different from the more dark atmosphere that S1 had
s01e01 was fucking kino
i was like
>dis gon be gud
too bad it was predictable trash
are other seasons any better?
season 3 is the worst season, easily
You will never be satisfied. You've put too much importance on vacant entertainment in your life. It's inherently meaningless. It doesn't matter if you watch it or you don't. You won't be any better or worse for how you engage with it. If you think every shitty tv show needs to be considered like a great work of art, you're never going to be happy. If you just reconcile that it's meaningless and worthless and by watching it you're wasting your time, you'll be able to enjoy it.
Yeah hehe that would be so funny!
>meaningless
so is the rat race and ultimately life, you will die one day and nothing you do matters anymore
great, faggot, so enjoy the tv show in between taking a break from trying to find meaning in life. Entertainment is never going to give you purpose.
Pleeeease let this be the hit costume of Halloween 2019.
Dude thank you. I've been saying they kidified it for days now.
I don't mind not having a purpose, just want to enjoy life's pleasures with the limited amount of time Im given
bro. no one is going to remmeber this shitty season by the time halloween comes.
NGL having that as a costume, alongside another person dressed in soviet military attire would be fucking hilarious
Season 2 nd 3 are both pretty bad for mostly different reasons, but they have the same problem of the writers having no clue what to do with characters, shoehorning in stuff, poor dialogue, bad characterization etc.
I don't really understand how anyone could think 3 was better, it was still a mess it just didn't have a glaring episode 7 level clusterfuck that S2 had, but it's still not great.
As I've said before Season 1 is the best season of this show and the only well done one.
>5 mins in
>anti russian propaganda
man wtf
Doesn''t help that a handful of them out completely out of character from previous seasons. Hopper is the worst offender, of course
Triggered.
Jesus I'm surprised they didn't just start making out or something with how giggly and retarded they were this season as a pair.
I watched 10 minutes of season 2 of this show and gave up there and then. Convinced I made the right call.
Season 1 was a solid 6.5/10, comfy popcorn flick.
It's a fantasy/sci-fi TV show. Stop being autistic
the whole thing is an elaborate way of complaining about russian collusion. IDK what was expected, other than the standard american pavlovian response to anything involving russia
>show takes place during the Cold War
>get offended
>monsters
>real world
I fele like I'm the only one eho liked s3, but then again I skipped that one episode everybody hated
It's neve been stated otherwise in the show, so everything that was actually happening in real life in the 80s is presumed to be happening in the show in the 80s.
With the addition of sci-fi/monsters etc. Have you ever watched a tv show or movie before mate?
Stop letting the bigoted autists of Yea Forums tell you what most people think of this or any show.
el americano
What an embarrassing fucking post.
S1 9/10
S2 4/10
S3 10/10
Fite me faggot
This. I can't really give season 3 a leg up maybe VERY VERY slightly over 2 but it's still plagued with tons of issues that S2 also had. Problems that Season 1 didn't have at all, which is why its far and away the best season. At least 2, despite how bad it was, didn't destroy established characters though
People that weren't around for Got s1 and can't afford cable or don't know how to pirate really want this show to do well. It's become obvious a new demographic wanfs to be part of something big in a post Got TV industry. Stranger Things is the only show with a big enough fan base but merit simply isn't there so they desperately convince themselves it's still worthy and it's just another weak season.
>just turn ya brain off brosef
Yeah, entertainment isn't a big deal and isn't whats important in life, but it can still be criticized for being a poor product. Season 2 and 3 are poor entertainment products.
They probably tried to push that idea but Millie fought against it, so they switch the gay to Robin instead.
Yep, my thoughts exactly. This show has run itself into the ground and it is clear as fucking day the writers are scrambling to make a cohesive story. It's so obvious they had no idea what they wanted to do after season 1, and were just banking on it becoming a hit (good work I guess, since its popular as shit now. nostalgias a hell of a drug)
>We can all agree that S1 > S3 > shit > S2
Yep
>So why did critics like S2 more than S3?
Sjw pandering
So glad it basically got retconned + flashbacks I barely remember anything from it but still remember s1 even though I saw it twice when it first released
S3 was suprisingly great I honestly thought it would be terrible but even though it had a magical mmhmmm minigger it was based and dare I say redpilled
The mayor was perfectly cast fucking hell Cary Elwes is getting old tho
haha yeah that would have been so gross amirite i mean two girls yuck haha
>bigoted autists
Many if us that are disappointed were huge fans of s1 and a large part of why normies even give a shit. I get that the amount of negativity can be overwhelming here but this really is a show that is zig zagging in quality relentlessly.
Why didn't they just use a real town instead of making up one? Do you have to like buy rights to use real towns/cities in movies/shows or something?
>S3
>but then again I skipped that one episode everybody hated
Wait what episode are peopple skipping in S3?
>not killing him off this season so we can stop cringing everytime he's on screen
One job, Duffers
Right haha, I would have definitely shut it off I mean that would have been really weird hahaha.
>It was Cary lwes
I'm gonna be honest I didn't even fucking notice at first. I don't know if that means I'm retarded or if he is infact getting old as mold.
I am a massive fan of Mel brooks robin hood men in tights and recognised him immediately
Because Hawkins sounds cool?
i don't think they were ready for it to become so successful. there were sketches for a sequel to be set 10 years from the events of S1 but everyone loved the kids so much they had to stick with that - but they had no idea what to do
>He actually just used the term "forced diversity."
Because small towns no one even knows about until they show up as a location in media often get mad when you present it's police force being incompetent and introduce fictional things in it and make it look unsafe.
I wish I was kidding. Although its also entirely possible they just wanted to use a fictional place just like the town from the story they ripped off
I'm surprised Yea Forums isn't hung up on the capitalism speech the negro-loli gave.
if they killed him we would never be introduced to the god tier waifu suzi
None of the child characters will ever die. So like more than half of the central cast.
No stakes: the show.
i probably skipped about 2 hours worth of footage.
pretty much anytime when just kids on the screen I fast forwarded
If you can't stand the kids why even watch, it's focused around them lol
s3 had way too many characters and it follows the stupid formula that that town is the epicenter of everything wrong with the world
s2 actually dared to go in a new direction
Upside Down is an alternate reality of our current version, except the monster thing arrived and took over sooner.
you need to watch each season as a parody of popular movie genres of the time period
Season 1 was obviously Mystery/Thriller-based horror, like Alien or Predator, where the unknown was the main appeal.
Season 2 was more standard Horror, like Aliens, where there was less mystery and more just disgusting spooky looking shit.
Season 3 is more Slasher like when it comes to the Mindflayer plot, whereas the Russian plot is more Action based
The Russians could send nukes through their portal and just mine the wasteland for free resources. That's the only way it makes sense to me.
>Liking Robin throughout the show
>Hoping Steve end up with her
>She's end liking girls
>Wanted her to die so badly after that
Fuck i really hate it when shit like this happen, just reveal it from the start, dont make my heart break ;_; poor steve...
back to the future being in the show is literally just for reference
the only good foreshadowing was the The Thing poster in the beginning of the season
getting really sick of every child being a fucking super genius
the only believable kid is Will who just wants to play D&D and never grow up, but apparently that's because he's a faggot or something, which seems to me like actually making fun of fags?
giant gorg is better
you wanna know whats shitty about this season?
the russian never knew and interact with the mindflayer or something, it really bother me
I got over it in an afternoon. Some of us have jobs and families of our own and can't afford to keep crying. Unbelievable, I know.
Increase of political ranters pretending to be critics
There was more billy scenes. Meaning there was more sex. Normies love sex. They all talk and think about sex. normal sex, gay sex, no sex. sex sex sex. consume. consume. Primal urges is all that goes on in their minds.
They hated all the jabs at communism and the love for capitalism.
fuckers never worked for their lives
There's actually no way he's dead. If you check the scene where the machine explodes, he isn't in the shot, also no "goo" where he was supposed to be.
Is it really that "smart" to understand the base definition of the word capitalism? She doesn't say anything profound, she's just like "dude you know what I love, money going around and shit, now get me another scoop, whiteboi."
Because he was vaporized.
Feel free to watch the scene again.
I kept expecting him to pop up all like "PSYCH! I just hid behind some boxes." I was glad he was actually dead. Not because I dislike the character. Anyway I wouldn't be surprised at all if they bring him back. Which will suck, of course.
Kino scene. I laughed.
Will they manage to put together season 4 before El starts to look like she’s in her fifties?
She was using them too much and she got bitten
Because her bf is a nigger and she thinks all men act like niggers.
They could easily do a million things with the Upside Down.
But it can't keep riding on 80's music and same characters.
ah shit man, dont finish the season.
>strong independent women women being suppressed by white men the season
All old characters got one dimensional as fuck. And these "evil white dudes" are comically evil. These series feels like a kid cartoon at this point.
Season 2 was "Bitchin!", yo. How can you not know that?
This is Jake Busey. Feeling old yet?
>mfw watched Season 1
>never watched another
>have no interest to
*dab*
I'm envious of you. I feel obligated to watch the rest of the season but my stomach was turning during S3E1 at how childish the show had become so I'm mustering up the courage to finish.
The eleven episode alone in season 2 brings it to the bottom. Also Season 3 looked the best the show has been, some shots of the mind flayer looked big budget movie quality
i agree with this and i am only 20mins into the first episode of S3.
its just so disappointing that ive put it on my way back burner for when im really fucking bored and run out of actual good shit to watch.
No, in S3 the characters were like a goofy caricature of the characters in the first season. Fat cop was chewing the scenery like nobody's business, and they're just retreading the same fucking plot over and over again. Jesus fuck, it's so bad.
Do you think El could smell anything in her black room vision? It’d be so funny if he could smell Mike when he’s taking a shit lmao
Holy shit, I'm not the only one?
Am I the only one who thinks it's fucked up that all the people who got flayed were glossed over?
Weird how the two storylines were entirely separate. What should have happened was when the Mindflayer showed up at the mall a battle breaks out between it and the Russian soldiers.
>Russians are comical cartoony villains for majority of the season
>Mind Flayer finally shows up and starts wrecking shit
>Just when all hope seems lost the Russians come in and start gunning it down, not for heroic purposes but rather to kill it and study its chemical makeup
Would've been pretty neat actually
She's not the only one.
no
this
More sjw shit in season 2 maybe, rt is known shit anyways.
Is that Will? he looks lot less retarded outside the show.
Em... Source?
