The notion that a scrawny gray alien could reach such an insane level of strength like that just due to sheer trauma, and no implied genetic bullshit like Saiyan race or S-cells, is pretty neat. And instead of being a chatterbox, he's quietly the strongest character in all of the ToP, sans MUI Goku.

Because Jiren was never meant to be a big bad/major antagonist in the way that Freeza, Cell, Buu or even Zamasu/Black were. He was basically just a wall for the Z fighter team to overcome, as well as a plot device to sell you shit like MUI Goku figures.

Super's character development is so fucked it basically has an identity crisis. Almost nobody is a real continuation of who they are in Z, everyone is a caricature except for Future Trunks who is somehow unscathed. Black Zamasu is also the only arc of Super I can stand because I am actually getting more of someone I know from Z.

No, they’re really not. They all have to have some kind of power scaling to make villains interesting, but most only care about their own universe specially in manga/anime. That’s why there’s a plethora of anime universes that master Roshi could solo, because only relative power matters and story is much more important. With DC it’s always a stupid yo-yo game where every hero will reach reality warping levels and 10 issues later jump back to street crime only that no matter what level they’re in the fights look the same. Even Marvel is 100x better at not doing that shit than DC is.
