Did not find it as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I mean, first of all you kinda expect everything going to shit.

I saw it for the first time this year. I've always been a fan of that incredible music and kept telling myself to watch the movie someday so I finally got around to it. I went in blind thinking it would some deep philosophical film. Not very brainy, but it was certainly a psychological roller coaster. Every time the great music played it just sounded like the movie people ripped it off of some other movie because they were out of budget.
I don't think I disliked it, I just had large expectations built into me from many years of hearing the music and conjuring in my mind the movie I thought it had been made for, if that makes sense. Never done drugs/alcohol but both of my siblings fell into them pretty hard, so I guess it was an enlightening experience in that regard.
