First one was way better. More gritty and less Hollywoody.

agree
But is there a point turning it into a contest? They're both good movies.
Same with Alien & Aliens.
subtle, OP
its always like this. take metroid. first one has a real sense of fear and isolation. same with termiteeater, same with the matrix
That solid black background, man. There's something about old games.
Yeah, but I still prefer the second one.
funny fact, the game was easier for western players because we scam ltr, where as japanese go rtl
Both are kino so it's all good.
Can you explain pls
fuck it, this is now a Metroid thread
you nostalgia you lose (zoomers get lost)
Both had fantastic Future War scenes.
well whats to the left in the first metroid?
the best cover

kek, I got you now
Get out.
Is there a moment in all of action that beats this?
That's exactly the way I feel about Alien vs. Aliens and I prefer Alien for those exact reasons.
But Terminator was better as a Hollywoody movie.
horror movie vs action flick
wait he killed him???
no they went on a picnic together
no, was just a bruise
It's the same for Alien and Aliens.
yeah its almost like Cameron knew what he did with Aliens worked so he did it to his own movie
YES, AND THAT WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IF WE HAD STRICTER GUN LAWS
Anyone who says the first is better is just being a tryhard. The budget was tiny and the special effects were laughable. T2’s effects were so expensive and well done they still look great today.
Only correct post ITT. T1 and T2 are a perfect package.
a movies not just about fx and budget. point in case the blair witch sequel and saw 2+
Second one got a kid in it when you think about it
The action was just way better in the 2nd. I liked the atmosphere of the 1st more, but just like with Aliens, this was a good direction to take the franchise in so it didn't feel like you were redoing the 1st.
And the second movie is always "bigger":
Bigger promo. Everyone gets a interview clip on TV, saying that "we always planed to make this as a franchise".
Red carpet and premier.
More explosions, over the top shooting and actions, longer CGI shots and scenes
