Ah, the Blockbuster era, where you would just grab this movie off the shelf because there was nothing else good and it had hot chicks on it.

spoof movies of the 00's. Sure they existed in the 90's too with all the Leslie Nielsen movies and Hot Shots etc but those had some sort of artistic and comedic merit. Then Scary Movie came along and altough it was decent it just lowered the bar for what a spoof movie is and all this shit followed.

Tbh, I never really understood the idea of making a spoof movie of Scream. Scream was already a spoof/meta movie about slasher flicks from the 80's.

But what's even more weird is shit they did in Epic Movie etc when they tried to "parody" Borat and stuff like that which already is a pretty good comedy. It's basically an impossible task.
