Will was underused, they should've given him a skill or power to make up, because even his detection was lame by the end, sensing the monster when it's literally 2 seconds away isn't useful.

The tone is wrong - the show went from treating its characters seriously to making them more of a platform for meta humor, cliches, flanderization, fanservice, etc. Otherwise, I don't really see your complaints. The cinematography is fine. I think the soundtrack, while a little less explicitly synth-y, is pretty good. I don't like how it tries to be funny instead of letting the character stuff actually play out seriously, but I think the overall structure of the season is much better than season 2's.
