Hmmm I wonder why, its 2019 its still a mystery no one can figure out.

I mean the underground place makes absolutely zero sense. You literally need to turn off your brain to not think about how shit of a twist it is.

This and these (((top critics))) are paid to push agendas.

Because Lupita’s performance and the cool music distracts you from the overall mediocre movie.

the two hiphop songs where the only good part about this shit

the movie completely falls apart when lupita gets to that facility. it just doesn't make any sense.

I tried searching on youtube "Us movie doesn't any make sense" and all the results I got was "Us movie ending explained". How the fuck all these brainlets NOT understand the ending?

its called affirmative action sweety

if we keep pretending blacks are competent and over promoting them above their abilities eventually the benefits of a doctor with a 2.7 GPA who got carried through med school will trickle down to all the other blacks and we'll live in a utopia

its sad you don't understand

Jordan Peel is very talented. His comedy show back in the day was hilarious. Get Out was a good movie.

This movie however was pure dogshit. Why cant we just give credit where credit is due?

Because the first 2/3 were kino. Too bad ultimately nothing made sense.

The first 1/3 was, then it just became a shitty action movie with them running away and stabbing people, all horror gone.

Nah, I still found everything up until after the car blew up to be enjoyable (in a slasher-y sense).

how hard was it to go full supernatural like Cabin in the woods did? Why try to make the twist be realistic when clearly you lack the intellect to make it believable and realistic?

The final fight was the best part of the movie though.

youtube.com/watch?v=HzszCs8ka-Y

Terrible film.

Niggity-Noggity, return them to property.

Between Us and his shit Twilight Zone reboot, it's pretty obvious he's a one-hit wonder when it comes to horror.

That's now how the bell curve works dumb dumb. There are smart blacks they're just rarer than smart whites. Not impossibly rare either just less common. It doesn't mean that smart blacks literally don't exist. Ironically racist tend to fall well bellow average when tested.

I liked it until about the last half hour desu but then Peele decided to spoonfeed the audience about a bunch of shit that should've been left untold.

You won't understand it if you assume that the ending makes any goddamn sense.

I wouldn't know, I don't watch movies with non-whites in them.

It does make sense. It's fucking stupid but it makes sense.
>b-but how do they
Shut up. You can pull that nonsense with every movie. Shut the f up.

>It does make sense

Oh yeah? Then riddle me this:
>How and why are there copies of all these people?
>Why do they mirror their movements underground?
>How long has this been going on?
>Does that mean that neither of the two versions has free will?
>Where do they get energy?
>Where do they get food?
>Where do they get clothes?
>Why have they not been discovered yet if they they require such vast resources?
>Why are they evil?
And much, much more.

Hey kid, you're doing what I told you NOT to do. Now please kindly shut the f up and go back to making hour long nitpick videos on youtube where you huff your own farts thinking you're some expert in movie criticism.

niggers

>Hey kid, you're doing what I told you NOT to do
Pointing out extremely obvious questions and plot holes? Okay, so the movie really is nothing but "just turn your brain off", gotcha.

Can they be super smart or average in the continent were they belong?

YOU CAN DO THIS WITH LITERALLY EVERY FREAKING MOVIE YOU MORON YOU'RE NOT MAKING A GROUND BREAKING DISCOVERY WHEN YOU DO THIS WITH US NOW DROP THE SMUG ATTITUDE BEFORE I REPORT YOU FOR GARBAGE OUTSIDE OF Yea Forums YOU'RE SO IRRITATING JESUS CHRIST

kek someone's salty. Jordan is that you?
Don't take it so hard that your movie makes no sense, I hear Get out was pretty good.

Also for literally what would you even report me? Discussing movies or not liking what you like?

Half black, is he not?

The ending makes sense as it is clearly explained. The tethered doesn't make any sense.

samefag? What has this have to do with the ending faggot? kys

>Get Out was a good movie.
Why? It was literally the skeleton key but with the racial undertones of whitey being jealous of how cool and strong blackey is.

True I really jumped from the ending to the Tethered there, I'll give you guys that.
Maybe I am retarded as well.

It was a fun movie. It's not even that racist. Whites were taking the bodies of black people who are genetically more athletic and putting inside them white people brains that are superior to their existing brains.

Then why were they stealing the body of a photographer if they only cared about athleticism?

Discussing this movie on Yea Forums is pointless, because the thread will eventually just devolve into "LOL IT SUCKS BECAUSE HE'S BLACK". That being said, I thought this film was fucking shit. While the first 30 minutes or so did a really great job of building up dread (I particularly loved the scene right before the family breaks in where she is explaining to her husband that she thinks another version of herself is hunting her, and thought the camera focusing on her blurry reflection in the window was fucking awesome) the movie goes to shit as soon as the family gets there. While tropes are very common in films, and some films take predictable tropes and make them work (Midsommar is a good and most recent example) the whole "having the evil villain explain everything to you in excruciating detail" is just incredibly annoying to me.

I also just thought the entire concept itself was stupid. There's a bunch of alter egos living in some underground world that have some sort of metaphysical connection with the other versions of themselves above ground, who built it, who experimented on them, why the project was abandoned, where they received the jump suits/scissors, none of that is explained. I guess the last two don't really matter, but I feel for such an outlandish concept there needs to be at least some attempt to rationalize it, or else it just takes the viewer out of the movie completely. Also, what was the point of them all holding hands across America? Why the fuck was 'I Got 5 On It' played SO much in this movie? It was so fucking cringe when they had an orchestral version of that song during the fight scene. I mean seriously what the fuck were they thinking.

I also think since this is Peele there is some sort of underlying political/social tone, and maybe I'm just missing something, but nothing I can think of makes sense. If it's about race or class relations, why are the poor or 'oppressed' people shown to be so violent, stupid, and obsessed with killing?

Attached: thumbs_up.png (79x80, 2K)

they did make a point that he had a body to be a good at wrestling or something. idk

>Why the fuck was 'I Got 5 On It' played SO much in this movie

It's a dope song

You and I both know why, stop coping.

If you honestly think it was a coincidence that a white family was stealing black people's bodies then you're a lost cause, and you also don't understand why pseudo-liberals crawled over one another to suck this movie's dick.

It's a movie, geez.

you're just mad because your ego is incredibly fragile so anytime someone makes a movie about white people bad you get extremely ass hurt but it's totally cool for you to come on here and call people niggers because dude fuck black people and fuck liberals lmao

pussy

Yea? And I'm saying I didn't like it. It was mediocre at best, but its racial undertones were garbage too.
They even had the "asians are weird asexuals" trope going for it.

Seriously, if you racially swapped all characters into white, nobody would've cared about the movie. It should show you how obsessed with race people are.

because if you criticize nignogs you're an evil white supremacist, didn't you get the memo from the shill media?

Attached: 1550725724166.png (406x202, 2K)

plotholefags need to be hanged

Even if he is it's enough to make him a protected class. Obama was half black but the media and any of his supporters held onto that portion for dear life.

DUDE, just turn off your brain, lmao

>caring about plot in a film
>ever
you're in the wrong medium.

just turn off your brain, lmao

In 2019 its rasist not to praise blacks. In the same way you wouldnt harshly criticize a child at a play

>searching on Youtube
that site is as biased as its parent company, Google.

The why part they mentioned something about illuminati making copies of everybody so they can change them with their puppet, should that person become president or some shit.

Its a nice premise, but the how part is not so great

why are you watching films instead of reading books?

That's a useful analogy. Thanks.

I don't think anyone asks you to turn off your brain for this, the opposite really. Peeles horror gets propped up as some deep involving thing that is smart.
This movie was meh. It's not even al little bit scary, so it failed there. The actions kind of lame, serviceable but lame. There's a few scenes that are pretty good, the ending 10-15 mins was probably the best part of the movie.

definitely overrated. Feel free to skip.

Why cant I do both?

>WAH! This movie didn't spoonfeed me!

That's you. That's what you sound like.

you can, just without bringing retarded "muh plot" sensitivities into a visual medium when talking about a movie trying to communicate a message rather than tell a story.

>>dude, just turn off your brain, lol

Who are you quoting?

>the ending 10-15 mins was probably the best part of the movie
reddit

It was the only time the shitty movie as mildly interesting. No one cares about what sites you browse.

>thinking his opinion is intellectually superiority
>unironically 'muh message'

It's about the journey not destination.

*superior

>>unironically 'muh message'
The fuck do you mean? What meaningless movies are you watching that aren't telling the viewer anything? Are you a capeshitter or something?
>It's about the journey not destination.
The journey was a thriller that entertained most people with the exceptions of plotpoint mental midgets like you. Do you think being too autistic to enjoy films with small discrepancies in their script puts you above the average moviegoer? You have the dogfucker plothole mentality.

movies are not porn

what did he mean by this

this. movie was terrible, made no sense had a watered down high school level theme. the minute the said 'we're americans' i knew there was nothing of value they were trying to say. I will say the photography was a step up from get out's zoom lens dual camera shit show, but didn't make up for some significant wtf moments.

Even if you're a nobody, film festivals now ask what the director's race and sexual orientation is. It's almost like if you're straight and white, fuck off.

>I also think since this is Peele there is some sort of underlying political/social tone, and maybe I'm just missing something, but nothing I can think of makes sense

From wikipedia
>For us to have our privilege, someone suffers. That's where the Tethered connection, I think, resonates the most, is that those who suffer and those who prosper are two sides of the same coin.

I didn't even see the movie so I don't know how well that message comes through or if it makes any sense, but I do know that believing in that kind of determinism doesn't actually benefit anybody

>film festivals now ask what the director's race and sexual orientation
Really? What a world *honk*

Attached: discipline you say.jpg (480x360, 9K)

>Can they be super smart or average in America?
yes

The Tethered don't make any god damn sense yeah.
It's got the writing of your average shitty horror movie- but it's got spectacle and flashyness that those movies lack.
The competition for Us isn't actually great horror movies- it's shit like Truth or Dare or the recent Annabelle sequel.

Attached: truth or dare.jpg (300x168, 8K)

>DUDE I CAN'T STAND NON-LITERAL FICTION BECAUSE I'M AN ANTI-INTELLECTUAL
>I ONLY WATCH 5 MOVIES A YEAR AND THEY'RE ALL CAPE SHIT

>Peele's latest racebait
>intellectual
nice

So, contrarian racism aside, there's an uncanny valley when dealing with fantasy, science fiction and horror, where you can leave fantastic plot points pretty much unexplained, and people will just fill the blanks with their imagination, or try to make rational sense of the whole thing and look for a plausible explanation...
But if you half-ass it, then it just looks dumb and lazy.
So, yeah. He could have left the tethered as a complete mystery and nobody would complain. He could have gone for the, I don't know, alternate dimension people running from a doomed world, and it would be just clichéd.
But this, this... this was annoying. Well directed, well acted, the cinematographer was top notch and the script wasn't boring. But the plot was midiclorian or Highlander: The Quickening silly.

>thinking the decay of Detroit has anything to do with racial identity
How retards are you?

Free (you)

Enjoy!

The lead woman’s accent was straight up distracting theatre camp bs. It’s like a generic spooky voice you make in your Halloween costume in grade school

Because it's a black movie and it is [current year]

More than that, it's unironically bad acting. I was taken aback watching it. I can understand the intention of it, but Lupita/Peel executed it awfully( she's the main culprit, but nobody was good).
A mainstream film with legit bad acting is a rare thing.

Mike and Jay loved it so you guys must be smoking something.

>How did this piece of shit get such high praises from top critics?
Because it's entirely black.

>How did this piece of shit get such high praises from top critics?

american negro worship
a nigger could film himself shitting on a table and they would give it a price

Yes, the reason Detroit failed is due to niggers moving in, not manufacturing jobs relocating along with their workers or polices created following the economic recession of the 70's.

Is this movie good horror shlock or is it another white people bad film like his last one?

>thinking the decay of Detroit has to do with anything other than racial identity
Fixed it for you.

It's mediocre horror shlock but less fuck whitey than get out.
Got overpraised for usual reasons so a lot of people plain hate it

I hate it, I do have some brown people in my blood line (sorry /pol/) but I refuse to answer these questions because only the quality of what I made should matter. I've basically lived my life like a WASP, not going to pretend I grew up impoverished, brown, and wanting to take it up the ass.

Nothing about the film was racial. You could replace the lead family with any race and nothing would change.

there's no half black. In today's society, if your skin color is black, you are considered black and therefore underprivileged
