The cop that was the first on the scene had also seen Broderick earlier in the day and had given him directions because he had gotten himself lost. The cop said Broderick didn't appear to be intoxicated when they spoke and there wasn't anything suspicious at the crash site to indicate otherwise, but he did note that Broderick had still managed to mess up the directions he'd given him earlier otherwise he wouldn't have been on that road. There really doesn't seem to be a conspiracy on anyone's part but that's not to say it still isn't fucked up that Broderick never fully admitted culpability. Jewy as it is that's the first thing any lawyer would tell any client not to do though. Hell if you guys read your car insurance policies they all say the same as well.
