Who’s the best Grunge band and why is it Alice in Chains?

There was only one grunge band and it was Nirvana. Everything else was just a cheap immitator.

Local H made some real good music despite being a nirvana ripoff. Ripoff isn't automatically bad if you can at least correctly imitate good shit.

They're a glam band that started doing post-punk when grunge come up. They aren't metal at all.

Grunge were only less polished versions of the 80's post punk scene only without the sense of humor and anything the Pixies did is better and more perdurable than all of the Grunge bands combined.

I've heard some, the songs are very good but you can still hear how they're structured to highlight the vocal melody and it only makes you miss Layne even more.

It was less about the band and more about the state of rock music at the time, and they were the biggest rock band. Wrong place at the wrong time. That being said I find them very grating but not as bad as some of their peers desu

now Creed was a terrible band but at least it gave us Alter Bridge.
