Original teasers like this rarely are made anymore because the industry has changed enormously since then. This Spider-Man teaser tells a story entirely with original footage, which was probably on the initiative of Sony. Today the industry is made up of trailer houses which compete with each other for a project, and they're all using the same footage given to them by the studio. They can't really create an original story like this, it's all based on creating a story through the random chunks of footage they get.
