Prove me wrong.

They are overrated shit? Agreed

inb4 they made george sell star wars to disney

AVGN is Nevermind The Bollocks

Edgy

just watch rlm as a group of dudes who casually discuss movies without taking themselves (or the movies) too seriously and you have some of the most consistently entertaining and insightful movie reviews on the internet today. everyone else is such a pretentious shill it's not even funny. and if plinkett isn't your sense of humor, that's understandable, it's not for everyone. just stop pretending it's "film criticism" and that you're cool for being pretentious about it,.

James Rolfe was Bach.

kinda funny how their credibility vanished with the release of the star wars sequels.

Well, the Plinkett reviews utterly tanked in quality. The cracks could be seen even in the RoTS review.

Every one of his reviews before TFA is kino. But then he made a bad call by talking about a shit fan theory for like three hours instead of taking a dump on it in 5 seconds and moving on with the funny and analytical stuff. He then reduced the psycho-stuff so no more kidnapped hookers are to be found anywhere in his creepy basement. Then he got even more lazy with the TLJ review.

It was cute as fuck when they tried to course correct by going in so hard on Rogue One. But the damage had been done, "JJ should direct, Daisy has charisma, it's everything I wanted it to be". Then the botched Plinkett review with that really awkward ring theory deflection.

You literally cannot refute a single point of the prequel reviews. All the hate is pure contrarianism.

>PRACTICAL EFFECT GOOD, CGI BAD

But then they corrected themselves by destroying The Last Jedi for the utter piece of shit it is.

I grew up with the prequels and even I will say that some of the CGI in the prequels is an abomination. Not all of it but enough to ruin some scenes. Not that the sequels are much better with their overdone particle effects andack of impact though

CGI is bad when it's bad. It was bad, you blind motherfuckers actually defend that CGI? lol
Half the problem isn't simply using CGI but a combination of using CGI as plot and trying to do things that could only (poorly) be done with CGI

Saying practical effects are better only worked up until you saw that practical effects in TFA and TLJ were shithouse.

I saw TFA and it was so trash I fell asleep in the theater. And a couple of bad movies does not imply practical effects are bad

Yeah what was up with that? Yoda looked way worse even though they supposedly used the original mold, Chewbacca was apparently a guy in a costume but he looked like CGI etc. I think the only good one was the R2D2 knockoff

Let me summarize his Phantom Menace review for you:
>muh midichlorians
His “points” are tired and laughably easy to refute since they’re mostly based on a piss-poor understanding of the film to being. He’s just a sad old many whining about it didn’t live up to the Star Wars of his childhood.

Midichlorians are a pretty retarded thing to be honest, but some of his points like kids being bored because of politics are completely invalid since loads of kids loved the prequels.

this - the ''all cgi'' dictated the scenes and simplicity of both frame composition and characters interaction w/ each other and their surroundings (also laughable dialogs)
