Today while in the line to meet JDF the guy in front of me was taking a picture with him. The guys friend was also taking a picture of them together. The lady in the booth next to us yelled at him to put his phone down and stop taking pictures. The friend stops and does what she says. Then when it was my turn JDF told me to wait a second and went to the guy and his friend and took a picture with both of them. He came back and told the lady that the people in his line can do whatever they want and that he’s just a friend taking a picture. JDF is just a super respectable and totally nice guy.

Too many negatives to list but as a kid, that was the season I began to lose interest in Power Rangers. It felt generic and I was pissed Billy was passed over. Having Jason back was cool but I wanted Billy as the Gold Ranger. Wouldve been a great character arc to go from shy nerd to second in command. Tanya, I didn't like too much. Kat was cool. So was Rocky and Adam. The Machine Empire felt more menacing but they still needed to have Rita and Zed on the show for comedic purposes.

I still hate what they did to Zed. When he made his debut in season 2 I loved how badass he was, and you could tell the rangers finally had a legit threat. Once that love potion happened, everything went to hell. Seeing him in that RV with rita was the end for me.

My top 5 (in no particular order) of the main villains:

Lord Zedd. Fucking great design. Was so serious, threatning and intimidating, they had to tone him down.

Venjix. Gotta give credit to the villain that came closest to win, and that technically wasn't entirely beaten by the Rangers.

Ransik. Based, woke, and did nothing wrong. And damn, the guy actually beat the shit of the Rangers without any silly upgrade or transformation.

Trakeena. Fucking hot, and so insane that she made memorable the season finale.

Lothar. A comedic villain done 100% right.

Zedd was a legitimate threat I could appreciate as a kid. I wanted to be terrified and caught up in the danger he possessed. Dude was responsible for wiping out TWO generations of Zords and was the first villain to lay siege to the goddamn Power Chamber. Zedd just kept upping the ante and the Rangers were always scrambling to compete.

Rita had a number of close victories too but what offsets that is that some of the Rangers would solo her monsters without even summoning a Zord so ultimately their threat was reduced. That shit stopped when Zedd appeared.
