Agricultural communities are settled, stable and rely on a high level of communal trust. Just as farms are owned through many generations, so are local businesses. A new owner of a feed and seed distribution cooperative would want to have the name of the former owner on his sign. If the former owner allows the new owner to use his name, then he is to be trusted.
