Rank these franchises from best to worst

Rank these franchises from best to worst.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street
2. Child's Play
3. Friday the 13th
4. Hellraiser
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
6. Halloween
7. Exorcist
8. Scream

Scream should be third and the rest should be tied for last because they are all very BORING

You're all very BORING

Outside the top three, all those franchises really only have one good movie (the first one).

1. Halloween, far and above the rest, particularly 2, 4, 5, and 6. The first one actually wasn't that good.
2. Friday the 13th
3. Leatherface
4. Child's Play
5. [No opinion on the rest but Exorcist doesn't deserve to be on the list at all.]

Myers was maximum kino in 2, 4, 5, and 6, I don't care what any pleb says. To this day, 6 is the scariest and best Myers.

Halloween easily no.1.
Hellraiser 1 and 2 are watchable.
Exorcist 1 is alright.

The rest are garbage.

Friday the 13th > Nightmare on elm street > Halloween > Hellraiser > Texas chainsaw massacre > Child's play > Scream
Not gonna include exorcist because it's not a slasher like the rest

Halloween
Friday The 13th
Child’s Play (solid except for Seed)
Nightmare(1-2 and New Nightmare) rest are shit
Hellraiser (1-2, rest is shit)
Texas Chainsaw 1st

>Hellraiser

1 & 2 are kino. The rest of the franchise is a steaming pile of dog shit. Worst drop off in quality I can think of in the horror genre.

freddy has the best special effects
jason is the comfier
chucky the scareist for me as a kid
hellraiser the one I wish it had been better (fuck all those dvd loose based sequels)
the exorcist didnt know was a franchise
texas was too cringe for me
halloween too boring
scream is meta shit

>Halloween easily no.1

Most Halloween movies are shit though. One gets credit for creating the slasher genre but everything after was garbage. Weakest slasher franchise by far.

hellraiser hellbound is better than any texas,, scream or halloween

as a sleeping movies sure

"Lets explain it all with some mysterious dark cult!" ....Shite. Typical American 90s teen movie.

it has work behind it other than a fucking mask, hellraiser and hellbound are dream like movies, in time they will be seen as works of art Im sure of it

>Halloween, far and above the rest,
take your meds autist

Doesn't matter. It was an interesting twist, and whatever it lacked it made up ten fold in cinematography, Myers' mask, scariness, and kinoism.

halloween if it was as intended, an anthology saga not only about myers
From 1983 to 1988 we couldve had other great entries like like pumpkinhead

What do you mean like Pumpkinhead

1. Friday the 13th
2. Nightmare on Elm St.
3. Halloween
4. Childs Play
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
6. Scream
7. Hellraiser

I just wish they left things more mysterious instead of needing to explain everything.

But hey, at least he didnt get beat up in a fist fight with Busta Rhymes in it

Scream was actually okay.

Do these movies really need to be ranked? They're all pretty good. Why did you leave out the Evil Dead franchise?

Child's Play and Scream shouldn't be compared with the others. They're shit.

1) TCM, Halloween, Hellraiser, Exorcist, Nightmare all have good original movies with at least 1 other good one in the franchise.
TCM 1&2, Halloween 1&3, Hellraiser 1&2, Exorcist 1&3, Nightmare 1&3

2) Friday the 13th is a mess but I liked 1 and 4.

Personally

TCM (greatest slasher, classic)
Hellraiser (love the premise and book)
Exorcist (3 is one of my favorite horrors)
Nightmare (nostalgia)
Halloween (second greatest slasher)
Friday (whatever)
Child's Play
Scream (severely overrated)

Exorcist 3 is top tier kino. Not just this but it has the only good jump scare in all of horror. Perfect execution.

well it's a horror story kind of based on Halloween right? it's a fucking pumpking
like season of the witch was the first many Halloween movies without Myers, I used pumkinhead cause it was from 80s too, trick or treat comes to mind

>Best
Michael Myers (Halloween)
>Even
Hellraiser
Exorcist
>Worst
rest

I mean it's genuinely the best horror movie of all time so it's immediately at the top of the list

Taking into consideration the quality level of the sequels and franchise as a whole:
1. Nightmare on Elm Street
2. Friday the 13th
3. Child's Play
4. Scream
5. Halloween
6. The Exorcist
7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
8. Hellraiser

For me it's
Friday > Nightmare > Hellraiser > Exorcist > TCM > Child's Play > Halloween > Scream

Yeah but OP said to rank the overall franchises, not just the original films.

1. ANOES
2. Scream
3. Friday The 13th
4. Child’s Play
5. Halloween
6. TCM
7. Hellraiser
8. Exorcist (literally every sequel is shit)

Freddy is cheesy, not scary, and way overrated.

I don't think I'd consider any of these franchises to be particularly scary past the first installments but NoES has a pretty strong mythology, good special effects and above average acting compared to most slashers.
