every horror movies because occult means scary and spooky

A Dark Song

A Dark Song.

unrelated but can someone explain to me what the FUCK this shit is?

It's the Bizarre Opening Ceremony For Gotthard Base Tunnel Complete Unedited Part 1

occult means hidden

thanks

eyes wide shut

Weird Semi-Satanic Aryan Sun Cults basically own Switzerland bro.

the ninth gate

>bunch of aging white perverts using some book as an excuse to dress up and have orgies

Kenneth Anger's Magick Lantern Cycle, The Holy Mountain, The Ninth Gate.

Occult simply means hidden information, from the Latin verb Occultare.

Uninformed people associate the word occult with horror, witches, satanism, etc. There is dark occulted information and light occulted info.

Here is an excellent presentation on the occult done by a former priest in the church of Satan.

the conspiracy

I'll say the same thing i said last thread. Even the "best" occult movies are little more than spoopy scary films. Sure, ninth gate, a dark song, final prayer, seventh seal and all your usual titles are OK and some may be in certain ways closer to real world occultism than most flicks, but its all shitty horror, ominous or bad endings, kewl scary movie shit in the end. Id be interested in movies that explore systems of magick as they historically are, or personal experiences of people. Hell horror would be fine if atleast it could be good and stimulating for a change.

but he literally channeled aliens to write books down, its hard not to bring ayys up.

it must be really annoying to be a performance artist these days and have people screeching about satanism and the nwo every time you try to do something abstract and arty

If i hide under a blanket does that mean I'm occult?

nah but go ahead and do it anyways and stay there

Reminder that A.Crowley killed a man on the north face of the Everest summit and threw him off the mountain, he was never charged for his crimes.

This. I read somewhere that the rituals they do are legit

Attached: holymountain-xlarge.jpg (1000x563, 74K)

They used the name of a real ritual, but the rest is made up :(

>Everest

*K2, not everest, still threw a guy off a cliff.

Look user I can appreciate someone trying something different and abstract but there is genuinely a lot of creepy shit in there weather intended or not. Just a strange performance for a tunnel opening of all things

Source? did he explain why? any other explanation?

you are assigning literal meaning to things that have none

I never said it was satanic I just said it was a bit creepy dude.

Seriously, what - the - fuck did I just watch?
I'm sure there's meaning in there like with history and mythology and stuff but I just don't get it.

Do they still pack those tunnels with explosives, you know, just in case?

Based

I never knew whether to believe this story or not. There's a lot of that guy's life story that is complete made up bullshit. But then again a lot of it is real...

I’m watching The Curse right now based on a comment in a thread yesterday

Nah, they used the general structure of the Abramelin working. It’s a really elaborate ritual that involves secluding oneself for months.

I agree with all of this. It seems too difficult for directors to really get across how the occult can affect your life in the most subtle of ways

And your flippantly disregarding the strangeness of this event

It's the most accurate portrayal of an Occult Ritual in mainstream film. I was really impressed that they did their research as a person who has an interest in The Occult and a shitton of Occult Literature.

He didn't throw a guy off a cliff that's a smear story. He did let a climber die and sat in his tent drinking tea while he heard the guy screaming. It's part of the Mountaineer Code that if a person goes solo and leaves a group he is on his own. If you try to rescue him you both die so rescuing some idiot who left the safety of climbing with the group is a No-Go and Crowley did nothing wrong.

RETARDED YURO ARTFAGS

AFTER YOU MEET SOME YOU'LL SEE THEY'RE HARMLESS

BUT VERY RETARDED

while it is the most accurate, it is still very inaccurate compared to the ritual that is explained in the book of abramelin (google for a pdf). Im not trying to sound like a douchy know it all, just trying to point out that the movie, while again it's good, is not an accurate portrayal of the abramelin ritual or one of anything that resembles real world occultism and the way people experience it. I suppose its fair to say that "the occult" traditionally encompasses supernatural and what i guess you could call fantasy elements. But there remains the fact that it is a field of study and practice in the real world too, with its own real world effects and i don't know of a single movie which manages to capture this, including a dark song. What makes A Dark Song still more realistic than most, other than the being based off the abramelin ritual, is the transformation of the main character's personality which becomes apearant in the final scene(s) of the movie!

The best out there is a dark song.
The ninth gate is also pretty good.

I've never heard of a case where someone performs the Abramelin operation correctly and meets their HGA and lives out the rest of their life as a healthy, well adjusted, holy person. There's always all kinds of horrible shit happening around it, or the person goes off to start (or continues) forming weird cults, or the person does all kind of perverted shit and promotes blasphemy. Like all of magic, does not work as advertised.

Ninth Gate is retarded.

There's some great ones on youtube

EXCEPT THE BIG BAD IS THE CIA NOT THE DEVIL

No it's not, it dumb as shit, and clearly based on the Simon Necronomicon (which is a fake)

I've read it user. You can't put an Occult Ritual without any theatrics in mainstream film and expect normies to like the movie. It's theatrical and takes liberties because its a goddamned movie. That being said its STILL The most accurate portrayal of an Occult Ritual in mainstream movies to date.

Interesting. Makes sense with his points of view.
Also, just, well... practically.

Lol. I can believe that. I still don't get it.

So, about as accurate as From Hell was.

jej

i've only seen clips, there's only one sex scene, no?

SPEAKING OF HELL

DRAG ME TO HELL IS HILARIOUS AND RIFFS ALL OVER THIS SHIT

BASED RAIMI DOES IT AGAIN

I loved that book as a teen.

My favorite Johnny Depp has to be Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Backed up by Secret Window.

yeah sure, i guess it's a matter of taste but i just feel awkward about the type of liberties they chose to take. Take the basement niggers for example, they were the worst part of the movie though i suppose they had symbolic significance. They couldve made something so much cooler instead of that though. And then they leave some of the coolest parts out like conjuringing and banishing some of the greatest demons ever from magical lore. They couldve also emphasised how these experiences are mostly internal but nontheless super sensory, intense and life changing. That all can be translated to very theatrical, stuff but desu it feels like they ran out of money half way through the movie or something? Maybe one day sombody will do a better job at someting like this, though again i'm going to reiterate like you, it was still the most accurate portrayal i've seen and an all around captivating movie

stop typing like that retard

watching now. thanks for the rec

completely reasonable especially on everest

It's probably a targeted disinformation/disruptive force to dissuade this topic from being discussed

Fair enough.

I always loved the Fields of the Nephilim video for their "Psychonaut" song. The themes of Leviathan and the Sumerian chanting always rubbed me the right way for some reason.

as an alcoholic, I could never do this ritual...
Perhaps if I got my shit together, I might be able to pull it off but 18 months, I dunno.

There are elements of occultism in many silent films. Occultism, esoteric nonsense, seances, hypnosis and similar stuff were extremely popular back then so it's often portrayed in films (mostly European films).

SATANIC BLACK MAGIC

FUCKIN QUEERS!

Attached: 1526170594662.jpg (766x413, 17K)

This is what I'm saying, that nobody should attempt this ritual. Everyone who has claimed to have pulled it off never comes out of it as a decent person. Or more integrated. Or holy. Crowley was obviously a nutcase, and his first attempt at the Abramelin operation supposedly resulted in the death of his groundskeeper. There was a guy who wrote a book about different ways to attempt it in the 21st century, but it turns out the guy is a massive literal faggot who is trying to build an astral spaceship to "ascend". Donald Tyson claimed to have met his HGA , and claims that it was...the demon Lilith.
The Abramelin certainly seems to definitely NOT do what its supposed to do.

KEVIN I KNOW IT'S YOU...

STOP SCREAMING AT PEOPLE IN ALL CAPS AND GO WORK ON YOUR ART YOU HAIRY BASTARD...

HOLY MOUNTAIN IS PRETTY RAD...

Attached: electric wizard liz.jpg (500x504, 62K)

The secret window is great as well, it has a similar vibe to the ninth gate.

Yeah. I have a hard enough time keeping up with the simplistic rituals. Meh... Lilith was around before Eve according to the Jews, so there's that. She just wanted to be on top according to the stories. Adam wasn't having that so she left.

Crowley was a nutcase. I remember a quote from Ian Fleming who used Crowley for a British operation in WW2 against the Nazis where he said, "I know a villain when I see one." And used him as the basis for the first Bond villain, Le Ciffre (the cypher).

For some reason that's one of King's movies/stories that keeps getting swept under the rug. It is truly scary and the end is just... WOW.

The corn in the braces.

Lol. When I lived in Seattle, WA there was a guy who was always running for public office as the "Space Guy" who I think was ascribing to the same kind of thing of Ascending.

Michael George Goodspaceguy Nelson

What's the difference between information and info?

Lilith was (((supposedly))) around before Eve, but according to the Babylonian Talmud, though the Sumerians, Akkadians, and Babylonians had a demon they called "Lilitu" or "Lilit". Either way, you're talking about a demonic entity, a fallen spirit creature. Not an angel of God. The entire point of the Abramelin, supposedly, is to put the practitioner in contact with a Guardian Angel assigned to them by God Himself. And least that what it's text says. In practice it seems to do something else.

The ending of the movie is better than the book. In both the movie and the book, Mort sees that John Shooter isn't a real person and Shooter is just an alternate personality. In the movie he kills his ex-wife Amy and buries her in his garden. In the book Mort gets killed when he tries to kill Amy and later Amy finds out that Shooter was a real person .

From Hell. Also read the comic by Alan Moore. Also read Jack The Ripper: The Final Solution. It's the book that covers the whole Freemason theory about the ripper murders and Alan Moore's source for his ideas on the comic From Hell.

The comic was interesting, the movie was idiotic, and they already proved Gull wasn't Jack, it was the jewish butcher. They conclusively linked him to the Strode murder with DNA a few months ago.

which is literally satanic and aimless

it's the biggest crime of spoopy edgy bourgeois overgrown goths like crowley, abramovich or 'creepy' artists. Just being bland nothings

Attached: 1561696365620.jpg (511x663, 43K)

You're thinking of the Polish barber Aaron Kosminski. The only problem with the DNA evidence that linked him to the murder is that the DNA evidence was semen on her clothing. It's more likely that he was a client of her's rather than the person that killed her.

>. But there remains the fact that it is a field of study and practice in the real world too, with its own real world effects
be honest alan moore, you're just too antisocial to be a normal God guy

Hrmm. Yes, I remember Lilitu from my readings and I figured it was all the same character. Not an angel of God... Fallen angel? Maybe these folks think they can redeem her? That's a stretch...

To be honest, I'm not all that familiar with the Abramelin ritual but just enough to know that I can not pull it off. Not yet, anyway. Everything I've seen about it seems to point that it goes haywire along the way. Perhaps it's the time frame? And dedication?

Kosminski was a Polish Jew, though. And while it's possible, he's the only suspect tied conclusively to any of the victims. It seems likely he's the Ripper. The alternative being that the Queen hired her chief physician, who was in his 70s, to discreetly eliminate five hookers, and kept him assigned to the task when it became clear that he was possibly the least professional hitman in history.

Yeah. I like the movie version better. Alcoholism is serious shit, man.

I was gonna post this but didn't because I'd be called out for shilling Moore's stuff but I wholeheartedly agree. There's that part in the middle where Gull totally goes off on a trip that is right up this thread's trip.

While I liked the movie, it was shit compared to the comic. But what else is new? It's fucking Alan Moore.

If its designed to connect you to an angel assigned to you by God, and you meet fucking Lilith instead, clearly something has gone wrong or it doesn't work as advertised in the first place. And in the Abramelin you don't pick an angel. You are already supposed to be assigned a guardian angel, and the Abramelin grimoire claims that the 6 month ritual lets you contact and meet this angel. It literally can't be Lilith.

>"Dr Gull, dispose of these strumpets discreetly"
>Gull immediately starts a string of highly public sex murders, each one becoming more and more brutal and ritualized

Ok...

To be fair, he did have a stroke that caused him to see some really weird shit.

Paulides Missing 411

Truth is that the rich occultists /pol/ likes to talk about are real, but they're actually larpers who want to try to be important, spooky and mysterious.

Moore flat out said he doesnt think Gull did it, it's just a framing device

From Hell is first the start of Moore's fascination with the occult but most importantly is almost a meta-piece about our fascination with Ripper and our web-weaving of narratives

From Hell is a really great comic. Maybe reading it after a shitshow that is a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which really lowered my expectations blinded me, but that comic really disturbed me more than any piece of media in recent history.
Anyway, while we are still on talking about Moore, this interview with him is pretty great, especially the occult part

This really was a good movie. Definitely a sleeper hit.

Jodorowsky confirmed that all the aesthetic of the film and his wardrove are just a show off to get pussy, you are an idiot if you think this movie is deep and avant garde.

nice projection. its funny how you need creators to tell you what to think about works

If you have a guardian angel, assigned to you by the Maker himself, and this angel is doing it's job, what is even the point of contacting it?

just pray bro

Yeah, dressing like a big retard in a wizard hat gets you mad puss

the HAIL SATAN documentary

That is an excellent point. It makes much more sense to simply pray to your guardian angel than to conduct a months long magic ritual during which demons must be summoned and supposedly conquered and which is known to drive people insane and ruin lives.

That, and a description of the emergence of a so-called middle-class in England.

It's a brilliant book. I have the compiled one and a bunch of the individual comics. Showed them to my father and he was enrapt. I was surprised, actually, because he's not one for comics but I guess that one wasn't really Peanuts or the Family Circus.

Prometheus was frickin' awesome. At least at the start.

You shouldn't need anyone else to figure out what to do with your life.

I've always been curious about this part.

That's nice dear, doesn't change the fact it's full of occult symbolism

It is impossible to separate the occult from the schizos because one leads to the other. The occult is filled with cursed practices that will bring ruin into your life and will destroy your mind in the process. No one escapes this fate.

Not about the occult. It’s sci fo horror

If you get out and repent you can.

there just isn't a lot of kino

what do you want?

From Hell is a decent suggestion. The Exorcist is good enough. Except for the head spinning bullshit. And projectile vomiting. Other than that, though...

Unfortunately true. Or if there is, I'm unaware of it.

I'm not sure if you just have poor reading comprehension or not. I'm telling you that THOSE WHO PERFORM THE ABRAMELIN WORKING NEVER GET THE ADVERTISED RESULTS. THE FACT THAT, SUPPOSEDLY, DONALD TYSON ENDED UP IN CONTACT WITH LILITH, AND CROWLEY APPARENTLY ENDED UP IN CONTACT WITH A GUY WHO RESEMBLED AN ARAB, PROMOTED HOMOSEXUALITY, PROMOTED THE WORSHIP OF FALSE GODS, AND WAS EXTREMELY AND OPENLY BLASPHEMOUS SHOWS THAT THE ABRAMELIN DOES NOT WORK IN THE WAY IT SAYS IT DOES. Why is this hard to understand? If a book says "do this, this, and this, and you'll become holy, wise, and wealthy and will meet your guardian angel", and if everyone who performs it instead dies in poverty, goes insane, engages in perversion, and meets entities who openly hate God or who even identify themselves as demons THEN IT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT.

The Redux with the crabwalk backwards upside-down was too much too soon.

The other guy said "he's Polish", trying to act like he wasn't a Jew. And given some of the things Jews get caught doing, yeah.

i think you are taking the book of law too literal

>The other guy said "he's Polish"
His nationality his Polish yes I didn't know it was a requirement to point out everyone religion on top of their nationality

>trying to act like he wasn't a Jew
He wasn't "trying to act" like anything you dumb nigger he just doesn't let Jews live in his head free of charge

And this is just blindly accepted by many occultists. Yet everyone who does the working itself ends up with wildly different, though always blasphemous (or simply moronic) teachings. And none of them get any of the material benefits associated with the Abramelin.

Catholics have a prayer to the guardian angel that many learn as children. Also the prayer to Saint Michael is famous. And neither of these include blasphemy, and are much easier and safer than jeopardizing one's life, sanity, and soul with the "sacred" magic of Abramelin the "mage".

So they basically get trolled just like the boomers get trolled by King Paimon at the end of Hereditary.

Point taken.
What you have said makes perfect sense. I shall heed the warning because, well, perfect sense. I am fine with working an honest job and paying my bills as a normal citizen. I am NOT looking to meet Lilith.

Perhaps not.

Dude was fun with his literacy but still kinda strict at the same time. I don't know. That's one of those things I have to read numerous times to really "Get".

Interesting. Thanks. I shall look into this. Also, it might be good to teach to kids, no?

It doesn't matter if you take it literal or look at it as esoterically as possible, Book of the Law is bullshit. Even magicians in the middle ages, who accomplished MUCH more than bitch ass Aliester Crowley, knew that there is One God, that Christianity is real, and that demons try to deceive you. Crowley convinced himself demons are all in the mind, and proceeded to promote blasphemy, satanism, and faggotry his entire life. RHK is pretty obviously just Satan.

So, knowing that Kominski was ethnically jewish is letting them live in my head rent free?

I guess. Never saw it. Although if you actually do the Abramelin you're supposed to summon Paimon, among other pieces of shit.

pointing it out when it has zero relevance on the subject at hand is providing accommodations for Jews in your head at no cost yes

greys terrify me.
what's the best shit about aliens?

Attached: L1SsYSGwlhoTs9JbUfwF4VqwxwWfansc_diej3WoJ30.png (620x609, 156K)

Dang, that's a violent prayer!
But, Ok.

Praying to your actual guardian angel for help and guidance in serving Christ is safe. Magic, not so much.

Despite the fact that someone wrote a message about the "Juwes" not being blamed right by one of the murders. In this instance it actually does tie in. Dumbass.

This. I always thought this. It's so blatant.

But what's the difference?
Meaning in praying to Christ or to an Angel? Honest question.

Praying to doesn't imply worship. If you pray to your guardian angel, or to a Saint, it's like asking a more experienced friend for help. Jesus Christ is God, and deserving of worship. Angels are not, good angels are merely God's servants. While more powerful than you, they are nowhere near as powerful as God. No one is.

Lord of Illusions

Also, one of the things wrong with the Abramelin, structurally, is that it effectively seeks to place the aspirant in the hands of a being claiming to be his guardian angel, not in the hands of Christ. Toward the end it even refers to the guardian angel as the magician's Master, when the only Master should be Jesus. And as stated before, you have the "fruits" of the book: nobody who performs the Abramelin working ever gets what the book promises. They get results, usually very unwanted results, or results that clearly are not from the intended source. It seems like they may be connecting with something but not God or their actual guardian angel. Leaving yourself open to a demonic presence can easily lead to possession and would explain why everybody who does it ends up promoting blasphemy and perversion and generally being deranged.

You haven't heard of Ramsey Dukes, then. youtu.be/nm1bc1IrPVk

Hrm... Good insight. Asking advice from an experienced friend. That makes sense to me. Thanks for that.

I feel cheap but a lot of Depeche Mode songs seems to say the same thing.

I know exactly how that happened. Someone in government thought it'd be a cool idea to have a show at the opening ceremony, everyone agreed but then nepotistic motherfucker decided that it should be one of his friends that works for the local arts university. That guy then says he'll need a year and a shitloads of money to do the show. That guy hires literally everyone he wants him to owe him a favor to take part in the dance. Then he realizes that he actually has to do something with all those people so he just starts coming up with weird shit using the theme of trains and construction and shit. If anyone complains about it being weird he just calls them whatever fancy arts people call people these days because idiot and retard have gone out of fashion.

Hereditary

I just meditate on sigils related to things in my life and generalized rituals to the Greek sometimes Norse gods.

I am atheist but the pageantry helps push the belief which fuels it into the collective unconscious. Just because gods aren’t real doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Finally a little sex magic with blood and spit and you are good to go. Practical magic.

How is he not blasphemous?

Which would explain why Crowley bent towards the Black Magic after abandoning the ritual partially through? Yeah. I'm gonna avoid that one. My sister's a bible-thumper and I can't stand it but there are some things in there that resonate.

"Whenever two are together, I am in you midst." I'm paraphrasing but, still. The thought of communion is there and it always struck me as a profound sentiment.

Atheist magicians always make me laugh. If you don't believe in God or the supernatural, what exactly is powering your magic? What gives the hairless primates of Earth the ability to change reality with their minds and willpower in a completely materialistic universe?

this thread is kino desu

Suspiria (1977 & 2018)

Attached: 1535057443599.jpg (500x500, 163K)

Crowley insisted he practiced "white magick", but cursing people, worshipping false gods, letting dudes bone in the butt, and sexually pursuing Arabian boys? Those are all totally evil obviously.

still can't get over how bad the remake was
But the original is amazing, Inferno and Mother of Tears are also great.

Orobas was in Suspiria?

Reality is malleable and completely subjective. If you believe in God, that’s great. He’s real. I don’t. He’s not.

Don’t get into the fallacy of trying to prove or disprove a subjective experience, it completely destroys the purpose of both our beliefs. The only difference is yours has an organization to perpetuate the same ones.

>CTRL F
>no 'Secret Glory'

Secret Glory.

Dark Ritual is a good movie.

it was already posted

If reality is completely malleable and subjective why are the laws of physics set? You can believe you can fly all you want, but if I throw you off a roof you will objectively fall until something stops your fall.

95% of occultic stuff is simply gay atheists who are still mad about their parents making them go to church on sundays. 5% is true darkness and you would do well to stay far away. you'll know it when you see it if you're looking

I can see what you're saying about atheist and collective unconscious. I do believe the same. I like the idea of idols and gods and what-not but don't believe in them. But I also believe they stem from our own minds and in that there could be some power to mediation and sigil making, etc... So I try.
No sex magic, though. I gave that up 30 years ago.

>/x/ schizos
/x/ is my board and one of the best boards in 4ch fucking normie

no, i just like using that seal when i relate a post to the occult.

This stuff is dumb. Basically everyone who gets into 'occult studies' are just edgelords, into it for the novelty and mystique, or greedy. None of whom are the people fit to understand any of it.

Of course, if you ignore edgy dogshit like Crowley and get even a cursory reading, one should realize first that 'magic' is severely self damaging and not ever helpful, and that the basic view you might start to have should lead one to just want to live benevolently and in love and take let life unfold harmoniously and in due time, which is the only way it will anyway.

Like if you pretend to be readup on this stuff by superficially dropping a few kabbalistic terms (obviously just for show) but still go on acting maliciously, trying to deal in toxic energies (and there's no hiding it in the occult, if one registers that you are malicious towards them then you're dealing in toxicity) you already don't understand this stuff at its basic level and are setting yourself up for massive regrets. Really, love is the only way. Not pretending outwardly either, but being genuinely kind and benevolent. Anyone posing as mystical but who's obviously nasty and cruel is just a straight up poser. Which includes every edgelord magician who are mostly unhappy larping goths.

I still need to check out inferno

If reality is limited to the laws of physics, why are you attempting to discuss philosophy? You seem be to focused on power level bullshit and not the reason for following a path (of which there are many). All paths are correct, all beliefs are right. You just have to follow speaks to you, and follow it with everything you have.

Atheist don't have to believe in a materialistic universe, they just don't need to believe in gods and they don't need to have rational reasons for doing so. You can just straight up say that you don't believe in gods because an demon told you and you'd still be an atheist.

However the biggest difference between magic and say physics is that we all agree on the vocabulary, symbols and maths. So across disciplines within physics you can talk about electrons or something else and everyone understands what you're talking about. With magic, basically every major cult leader or whatever just reinvents this this. It'd be like if you started developing physics from scratch but you kept all the words from the old system of physics, so you decided that electrons have a positive charge and neutrons have a up spin and shit like that and then you changes the names of those so that the electron, proton and neutron are now a quarks and quarks are now atoms and so on.

So you can have people like atheistic magicians who just say "Well god isn't a real god because I don't like calling him god." and that's basically valid within magic.

Oh. But why? That doesn't make any sense.

It's really great, creepy and at the same time beautiful imagery. I hope you're not afraid of weird bodies of water.

V-Ger

If all paths are correct they are meaningless, as they directly contradict each other. I know that chaotes believe that belief is just a tool, but that is a pretty dumb belief.

Cursing people is probably the worst in my mind.
The rest... well, you're on your own with that stuff.

Isn't it fascinating how people are aware of the occult, aware of the topics, and yet the discussion is not about how to harness Gnostic wisdom to perfect ourselves on every wavelength of universe we can access? And I thought you were woke, Yea Forums.

>and one of the best boards in 4ch
maybe back during the skinwalker days now it's just a bunch of schizos being edgy and asking how to summon a succubus to fuck

Gnosticism is bullshit and tends to lead to insanity. Kinda like Abramelin.

Ironically most magic systems developed from one over arching system and has been added upon over the years. John Dee developed the Enochian system, add in Kabbalah and you get closer to the OTO and Golden Dawn, which then leads to Crowley, then you get to Chaos magick.

Somewhere along the way some mediation and yoga practices were added in. Now if you take the basics of hermetic tradition, add in sigils, and here we are today. It’s all very similar. Even Tarot and Jung has similar themes.

Joel Olsten, Oprah, and Tony Robbins sell magick.

There’s nothing I can say that can convince you of anything you don’t already believe, so good fortune on your path, I just seek to provide knowledge.

I dig that sigil. Looks good.

literal hollow-skull-tier opinion.

I got into it because I just like calligraphy. That's all.

Oh, and a correction, belief is a tool of religion. It is antithesis of magick. Magick is willpower.

Which Chaotes tend to believe can be used to focus willpower, much like a sigil (new Chaos meaning of sigil, as in "sigilized intent", as opposed to older meaning of "seal or symbol of an entity or an entity's name ").

Spare in the hizzy!

>edgy dogshit like Crowley
I'm guessing you haven't actually read much Crowley.

They mean the same thing. The concept is to sigil yourself basically. You are creating fictional entities for you to mantle. There’s many takes on it.

:)

I'm aware. While our outlooks DEFINITELY differ, us getting into an in depth conversation about ANY aspect of magic, sigils, evocation, talismans, etc, would derail this thread further than we already have.

Crowley is long winded trash.

fuck off, pleb.

It's pretty weird there's such lively discussion about occult shit on the tv board. Looks like that one old forum that had occult shit all over it way back when lol

Go jerk off to your faggot bf Johnny Depp, queer.

when will they make a good skinwalker movie?

Huh?

>Mother of Tears
>also great.
There's no way you believe that.

t. Medieval Catholic LARPer

im skitzo and im in yo thread bad boi

So which of his works have you read?

Whos this dude?

Isn’t Liber 4 basically all you need? This is coming from a magician. I get it if you want the whole artist performance aspect but practicality and brevity you need that plus 4/8 fold breathing technique plus his yoga style.

are there any real life occult cults that have the same ideas as the one in Lovecrafts novels with cosmic entities from contemporary times when he lived?

>getting this mad because you have shit taste
lol

basically any occult that worships demons.

but demons are always connected to religion is it not? I'm talking about indications that they basically worshipped aliens from space

A ton of them. Huge waste of time. Book 4 is even overrated.

they all worship aliens from space. alien is just another word for angels, demons, spirits, guides, gods, etc.

I deal with the occult mostly from a philosophical point of view, with self discovery and growth as my main goal, and I agree that love is all that matters and should guide our actions, but there's also some dark shit that's quite real and can be very harmful for yourself and others. Also the mind is a very strange and fragile thing, so switching belief systems, performing rituals and consuming certain substances can mess you up if you aren't very stable or prepared.

>Anonymous
Scientology. Also, the Nation of Islam thinks that blacks themselves are from space at upper levels. Retards.

I like to think demons as other dimensional beings.

>scientology
hmm, launched in 1952, though he was born 1911 so I guess those ideas may have floated around there somewhere.
in the novels, yeah, but were the cults themselves aware of it? I mean did they specifically mention entities coming down from stars or living on planets or other dimensions and so on, something that indicated that it was more than just "demons from hell"

It just depends on what you view. Crowley contacted entities, Dee contacted angels. Are they lying? Were they lied to? How do you know, presuming contact was made, they are what they say they are?

Angels in the Old Testament ARE Lovecraftian horrors. It’s all a matter of how these things are represented and how they are interpreted by you.

Don’t go to religion and magick for object truth of ANY kind defeats the purpose.

nice cop out

there's nothing inherently wrong with "magick". it's a way of reprogramming your brain into a healthier mindset. the advanced magick is more complicated and potentially dangerous but most won't get into that listening to joel osteen or any other positivity guru.

If someone has to convince you of something to believe it, you aren’t on a spiritual path. This isn’t physics, it’s literally metaphysics. The same rules don’t apply. All systems are valid and true. It’s how they relate to you and how you interpret them that makes them have any kind of value at all.

We can do the Yea Forums trolling shit, or you can see I’m saying his beliefs are valid, while also showing that mine are as well.

They don’t contradict, they overlap, parallel, and intersect.

There are literally people who believe Lovecraft acidentally accessed these entities and that they are all real

yeah but that's probably contemporary new age idiots, I'm more interested if there were analogous cults before it was a popcultural phenomenon, like were there ancient alien cults in the late 1800s/early 1900s for instance

All the Colors of the Dark

that's cool

Well according to Jay Dyer, all major Hollywood films use occultist symolism. L. Frank Baum was a theosophist so Wizard of Oz counts

thanks

These are larping chaotes.

What meaning is that, where can I read abou it?

Alestair Crowley plays pretty heavily in that Jack Parsons tv show Strange Angel. Too bad it's on CBS All Access. Of course... we have mystical ways of finding those.

is that how you're supposed to say Osiris? I always it O-sai-ris in my head

Do these retards know that Isis is a goddess that predates Christianity? Hell. The terrorist group named ISIS doesn't even call themselves that. Many European reporters never called it that. US media gave it that dumb acronym.

If they were smart, they wouldn't be using their camera to record the TV screen.

Oh Kwa Tanzin Won

At least it wasn't in vertical portrait mode. There is a special place in hell for those people.
