theres like 100 kinds of elves and yet humans are the superior dominant race in the world.
there are dwarves that are called dwarves but they're actually not dwarves because /subvert expectations/
and there's like 5 million diferent kinds of gods all capable of interacting with mortals and all gods want mortals to worship only each one of them and yet they dont go into the world and make mortals praise them by physically being there. also the MC is literally the most powerful guy in existence because he has a dragon inside of him and yet dragons arent as powerfull as him despite being 100% dragon instead of being 50% dragon and 50% human like the mc

Lmao

huge fucking yikes

Maybe try getting a clue before calling something shit?

You’ve only skimmed the surface of elder scrolls lore

After the fourth game the High Elves (basically magic golden Jews) decided they solved the world-ending crisis (when in reality Sean Bean gave his life to stop it) and turned into an autocratic government with the goal of putting men down. Skyrim starts around the time they're the dominant force, the superior human races are battling it out amongst each other, and Skyrim's conflict is due to OP's guy starting a civil war over religion (which the elves are trying to destroy and supplant with their own).
Dwarves are just a type of elf but they magically vanished at some point. The last dwarf is in Morrowind and he's a fatass confined to spider legs. They're known for creating robots and ruining an entire race of elves into blind abominations.
It's not five million gods, it's a variety of pantheons whose deities tend to cross between each other. Some good, some bad, some very worse.
Is Skyrim your first Elder Scrolls game, or are you just incapable of learning things?

>theres like 100 kinds of elves and yet humans are the superior dominant race in the world.
Well for one humans breed and reproduce faster which always helps. Also the Imperials control White Gold which is basically a scale model of creation and bends reality. It's no coincidence that the Emprie started collapsing after it was destroyed in TES: Oblivion.

>Dwarves that aren't dwarves
eh, thats just a naming convention, more of an inside joke than anything

>and there's like 5 million diferent kinds of gods all capable of interacting with mortals and all gods want mortals to worship only each one of them and yet they dont go into the world and make mortals praise them by physically being there
Aedra are basically dead/comatose, and Daedra are unable to freely enter Mundus without being summoned, and even then their power is limited. The rest of the 'Gods' just don't give a shit

>the MC is literally the most powerful guy in existence because he has a dragon inside of him and yet dragons arent as powerfull as him despite being 100% dragon instead of being 50% dragon and 50% human like the mc
I don't understand what you mean desu. The MC is basically a super-weapon made for the purpose of killing dragons. He's not 50/50, he's just a dude with Dragon Blood

Skyrim does a terrible job at presenting the lore. Elves don't work together, some are cannibalistic, some are smug cunts that want to be seen as the superior race and pull strings from behind the scenes.
IIRC, the Gods gain power by the followers they have. They use their followers to do their bidding.
The 50/50 shit is a trope in a lot of fantasy. A complaint about it is a co plaint for the entire concept.
skyrim is shit

is a new one gonna ever come out? this is was unironically one the last games I played

Elder Scrolls takes a long time to develop

Bethesda games get worse every interation anyway, don't bother.

>All these retards thinking CHIM matters

There is no lore in Elder Scrolls anymore, it is just a reason to go around exploring a generic medieval ambient.

>LOTR
>Witcher

Dark Souls lore is kinda weak, honestly. I love the game and like what little of the lore is truly concrete, but considering how much is actually vague I just can't rank it among those there. I could probably put Bloodborne 2nd though.
I'll admit I'm not very familiar with ASOIAF lore however. Witcher lore I'm only exposed to what's in the game and a short story collection I've read. TES lore has always seemed like a more boring DnDlite to me though.

>t.Zero Sum
Even got the digits to match

Elder Scrolls is there baby. They’re going to not try and mess it up. They’ve been using fallout for testing bs

So? Fallout gets worse every gen too. It's gonna be Skyrim 2 but with even less content this time. Can't have those toddlers getting confused.

As long as they keep using the same engine it'll always be screwing up. They need to make a new engine that just works better.

Attached: chrome_2019-06-18_16-21-06.png (573x541, 330K)

Skyrim was your first TES game, wasn't it? For every step forward they take, they take 2 backwards.

I finished Oblivion a while back and started another runthrough of Skyrim fighting for the Imperials since my last playthrough was for the Stormcloaks. It just feels wrong fighting on the same side as the Thalmor, I kill them every chance I get but it's definitely not as rewarding as helping Ulfric. Does finishing the game as an Imperial soldier pretty much fuck everyone or do the Thalmor get what's coming to them anyway?

Oblivion > Morrowind > Daggerfall > Skyrim

Oblivion was the worst though

你很笨

>t. brainlet

I vaguely remember a bit of TES lore about a humanboo monkey-man who hated elves so much he got a bunch of people to dance on big pillars to turn an elven god into a human, but I can't remember any names to check it.

Thane?

Attached: Bill_Wilson-0.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

Marukhati Selective

Thalmor were playing Ulfric as well.

Would Viggo Mortensen make a good Balgruuf?

Attached: ViggoMortensen.jpg (768x433, 48K)

This is a really solid ranking. Fuck GRRM that ft bastard thinks he's like J.R.R.T.

The Thalmor's goal is to extend the war as long as possible. They play both sides, the Stormcloaks by providing unrest against the Legion, and the Legion by demanding the arrest of Stormcloak sympathizers. Ulfric himself was captured as a Thalmor prisoner during the Great War, and they used him as the firestarter for the Skyrim Civil War by starting the Markarth Incident.
Even if you're part of the Legion, the Thalmor will still have patrols ready to judge you on bad things, like wrongthink or wearing Talos bling.
AFAIK an Imperial victory is a return to the status quo but it means more unity between the races of man and any mer who oppose the Thalmor, potentially it could lead to the return of Talos worship once the High Elves are beaten. A Stormcloak victory is the same, throwing off the Empire and leaving them weakened with new allies around them who have since abandoned the Empire, but Skyrim needs to be built back up nonetheless before it can support the fight against the Thalmor.

I actually liked Skyrim. Before you go into autistic rage, I couldn’t get into morrowind because I kept dying to the dumbest things(bandit with a weapon that keeps paralyzing me same with the bugs) sure features did get removed but I didn’t feel it was ever drastic. Maybe I don’t care as much

What?

lol that's precisely why I prefer dark souls lore. It's just the feeling that you're wandering an old, dead world where history's already finished.
I'd put LOTR in second and I don't know the rest enough to rank.

Thanks.

It's a big sand box, but any and all challenge goes out the window fast unless you self impose it.
I remember breaking the game in the expansion where the first dragon born comes back, and in the final battle he's monologuing about what a fucking badass he is, and if you kill him before hes done with his speech then your stuck forever there.

LOTR > DS > TES > Witcher > GOT

Bloodborne lore is better than DS though.

The best TES game is Morrowind, with Oblivion a close second.

The best Fallout game is New Vegas, and the series has gotten worse since its release.

Come on dude, DS lore is non existant. Its just a bunch of cool but disjointed tales and allegories that go nowhere and are just things the developers liked.

Its a really great game series but to say it has better lore than TES you must be retarded.

Skyrim had the best soundtrack imo

for sure. and best programming for music. Morrowinds soundtrack was good but you’d often be fighting shit with celestial exploration music in the background

It had good sound design in general. If you were just wandering around in the world you could close your eyes and be able to tell what was around you by how the music changed or sounds of animals.

Witcher is comfy but it has shit lore, come on. The whole conjunction of the spheres doesn't fit at all with the universe and removes any sense of folkloric feel which otherwise is what it excels at. In fact, you are better off just ignoring all that since it will only harm your experience.

I hate how americans can't for the heck of it understand what a civil war is and think that the imperial side are not nords and that the war means "imperials vs nords". And of course most see it in a Braveheart mindset (LE FREEDOM XD). If the imperials lose in Skyrim, humanity, Nords, Imperials, Redguards, Bretons... all of then lose to the elves. There is no arguing this.

dwemer obviously

Yep I know that feel, I had to equip a shitty weapon to not obliterate him immediately

not necessarily true. Hammerfell already seceded from the empire and beat the Dominion

Not true at all, either side winning has the same outcome. Whether there'll be a Dragon Break or some other huge event isn't clear yet but Bethesda are never gonna tell us the 'true' version of which side won - making it redundant.

Why does everyone think GoT’s lore/worldbuilding is so bad?

This

The correct order is
Morrowind > Skyrim > Daggerfall > Oblivion

should be morrowind>daggerfall>oblivion>skyrim

>same Houses have been in control of the same lands for several thousand years
>the few times a Great House was supplanted (which literally only happened when Aegon invaded), it was just an instant, smooth transfer of power
>the Great Houses have been around for centuries but all are somehow down to a handful of members - such as there only being 5 Starks in existence after Ned's death and 3 Martells
As well as a few bizarre scaling issues with distances and the sizing of things, the entire world outside Westeros being a series of Lovecraft references and most of the cultures we see are bland, nonsensical or just stolen from the real world 1:1

Gotta agree, Oblivion managed to be the worst of both worlds. The combat lost all the RPG-style depth from Morrowind but didn't at least have the aesthetics of Skyrim to be a proper action game either. So it was just spam clicking as fast as you can.
Everything looked ugly as sin, especially the people, the voice acting was dreadful. And the setting was so bland that everywhere you went looked exactly the same anyway. It was pretty much impossible to be immersed in.

That's exactly how I feel about Oblivion, it just feels primitive. Skyrim, as broken as it was, was comfy and fun to mindlessly play, I don't know why everyone acts like it's a terrible game.

>oblivion over skyrim
>when oblivion literally retcons everything about cyrodiil
lmao

Wrong, it's
Daggerfall > Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion

the lore may be dubious in oblivion but the quest writing is phenomenal. Just about every quest has an opportunity to double cross the quest-giver and the characters and scenarios are memorable despite the fact that it’s not a well put together game

It's pretty barebones for an RPG but looked nice and had a great soundtrack so you can get lost in the world for a while if that's all you're looking for.

>The combat lost all the RPG-style depth from Morrowind
>lost

both morrowind and oblivion are good only for exploration and quests. morrowind's combat is as bad as it can get: unbalanced and unsatisfying. turn-based combat would be much better (and I don't like turn-based).

it is often unappreciated that the fact that npcs move around makes a huge difference when you are exploring the world, specially villages. morrowind's ghost towns with statue npcs are depressing. the lore makes up for it though.

>tfw no Remen Cyrodiil biopic

Because they're miserable NEET losers who subconsciously feel inferior to everyone else and they're desperate for any reason to make themselves feel superior, so they turn matters of opinion into matters of fact, make their opinion the opposite the majority, and tell themselves that they're correct and everyone else is wrong.
If the majority of people hated Skyrim, you can be sure the exact same people who hate it now would then love it.
The nature of contrarianism is an overcompensation for self-loathing.

It’s pure nostalgia but I kinda love how incredibly lifeless and depressing Morrowinds landscape feels. Adds to the world even though it wasn’t intentional

Well met friend. I knew you were a smart one.

Floating comfortably around the middle of the Vivec picture, although there are some references after that I get and some before that I don't.

Well, your yuropoor ass sure as shit doesn't get the lore either. It's made very clear that EITHER side winning is bad for the Thalmor; the Redguards beat them alone, so can the Nords, but a united Empire also isn't good for them at all. Their goal is for the Civil War to go on as long as it can to weaken both sides. Moron.

The only cool parts of the lore of ASOIAF are the Targaryens, the Starks and the Iron Born and their fleet. Everyone/thing else is boring and generic.

Talos himself said it's time the Empire moved aside nerd

So I’m doing another playthrough of Skyrim soon, and this time I’m doing a pure-blooded Nord who’s siding with the Stormcloaks strictly. Here are some mods I’ve got that are Civil War related, all SSE:

>Warzones AA
>Open Civil War
>Immersive Patrols
>Man That Border
>Civil War Checkpoints
>Civil War Aftermath

TES at the top solely because it is the OC of Kirkbride’s drug-induced astral projection whereas LoTR is lifted directly from the Bible and Migration Era mythology. Then Witcher and finally GoT at the bottom. Dunno shit about DS.

The Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire definitely are not allies. They are in a state of Cold War and the Thalmor have extrajudicial power. Think the relationship between Nazi Germany and Vichy France: France was nominally independent buy it was the NSDAP that was calling the shots and the two states had conflicting claims in Alsace and North Africa, and the SS did whatever the fuck they wanted.

I recently installed Skyrim a few weeks ago and have been (re)playing it more frequently now, and I noticed (again) just how much of a buggy, poorly coded piece of shit game it is even with mods. Yet, I still fucking love it. Even with shit breaking all the time, and the piss poor npc AI and the lack of lasting consequences or accolades for all your deeds, and the structure of quests allowing you to become literally fucking everything for every organization making you pretty much the ultimate Gary Stu. Even in spite of all this, Skyrim still manages to be fun.

Truly it's a special game (and by special I mean retarded).

I can see how jumping right into space travel, moon colonies, and the more esoteric shit could be a shock to someone who's still under the impression that TES is another generic D&D fantasy clone (which Oblivion and Skyrim don't make an effort to dispel). It would definitely seem like being random for the sake of random.
But TES has been a Science/Fantasy blend since Morrowind, the crazy shit has always been there for anyone who wants to look for it. And if you look deep enough nothing is just there for the sake of weirdness, it all ties together pretty well.

How can you be this much of a retard?

The game straight-up tells you that the war between the Empire and the Thalmor ended in the favour of the Thalmor. The Empire can win in a rematch, but only if it buys time to rebuild the Legions.

Titus Meade is literally Quintus Fabius, trying to keep everything together until the time is right to beat them back. He's got them tied down dealing with the plausibly deniable Redguard situation, but the Thalmor have a perfect patsy who's going to rip Skyrim free and give them license to come in and take out the deity of humanity on top of that.

This is outright explicit text in the game, not deep lore that you need to read on the wiki using Ihrlen lesnses while high on nine kinds of shrooms to get.

>The Hist don't give a shit what's going on, you can't invade Black Marsh

Imperialfags are the only ones who need to worry

>Redguards are literally indestructable with their deus ex machina kill-all button
wat

The HoonDing nigga
Also they have nukes

He's full of garbage. The Aldmeri Dominion curb-stomped the Imperial Army on the way to Cyrodil.

I'm always an imperial because they are white

This is TES though, throwing bodies at each other doesn't mean shit in wars of this scale. Wars are won by whoever has the biggest bullshit death ray or Godly Avatar on their side.
Tiber didn't build the Empire with armies, he built it with a big stompy robot. It won't be brought down just because it ran out of soldiers.

You are aware that as a consequence of the Aldmeri victory that the Imperial possible super-weapon was destroyed and that if Hammerfall really did have the ability to shred as effectively as you claim they already would have, right?

The main Imperial super-weapons (big stompy and White Gold) are already long gone before the Great War even started - which is why they're currently fucked.
And the HoonDing only shows up in dire circumstances. We have no idea the state Hammerfell is currently in but if the Redguard's are at risk of getting screwed, he will show up to knock some heads.

>let's just ignore the evidence that it's purely about two clashing armies because that's what the lore specifically states and agree that I'm right because reasons

How about no?

And Aldmeri Dominion army got curbstomped by Imperial one later on.
>state of Hammerfell
civil war between two factions: Crowns and Forebears. Aldmeri Dominion in the region is fucked because subversion doesnt work that well and a "missing" Imperial Legion is fucking their shit up.

>whole war starts because some uppity elf niggers want to wipe out all memory of a God in hopes of ending the universe to sate a grudge going back to the dawn of time
>but lets treat it totally literally like it's real life
GoT is more your speed nigger

Dont have one. Imperial/Nord/Breton because they look human. And Dunmer because they are the best.

I'm aware of the causes of the Great War. However, it was fought conventionally and relied on legions more than world-shattering mage power. The Thalmor beat the Empire, which was fighting for its very existence. If they had more to use, they would have.

Both sides were exhausted, but you'll note that it was the Aldmeri who were able to force virtually all of their win conditions on the Empire because they were the ones with the upper hand.

Meade is playing for time. Ulfric Stormcloak is shitting everything up and risking the Empire in so doing.

>And Aldmeri Dominion army got curbstomped by Imperial one later on.

Because they were isolated and over-extended at the time. The Aldmeri had reinforcements coming but had the upper hand in the war, hence the peace negotiations favouring them outright.

>pretty fun but the lore makes no sense
If you just jumped straight into Skyrim the whole thing can be a bit jarring and confusing. I played Morrowind and Oblivion first and I was still sort of lost at times.

>the "modding community" is one of the most autistic things ever to come out of vidya
The game came out EIGHT YEARS AGO and these dudes are still making photorealistic ass and titty mods, it's fucking amazing.

Except we know the Thalmor ARE fucking about with god-level magic with the whole Void Nights fiasco - which is heavily implied to be their doing. That dude in the College of Winterhold was also very eager to get his hands on the Eye to 'unmake the world'.

If we assume the Thalmor aren't drooling brainlets, they'd have to know that any huge scale genocide attempt would always inevitably lead to some magic bullshit showing up to resist them - like it has in every other case in the entire history of the world. It's practically a force of nature that trying to rock the boat too hard causes backlash unless your name happens to be Tiber. They have to tread carefully when all it takes is one prisoner to fuck your shit up sideways.

Nord unless I feel like RPing something

> If the imperials lose in Skyrim, humanity, Nords, Imperials, Redguards, Bretons... all of then lose to the elves
How so? Imperials are literally High Elves' puppets. Imperials are the USA, High Elves are the Jews, and Storm Cloaks are... non existent in our world.

1. LOTR
2. Witcher (with the books)
3. Elder Scrolls
4. Game of Thrones/ASOIAF

I've never played Dark Souls so I'm not familiar with the lore.

but wont they all cease to exist if the thalmor win, kill talos thereby destroying the greatest tower holding mundus together?

Yeah but that's easier said than done is my point, erasing Men isn't easy.

>reman tsacei gangbang
wasnt thia the incident that made fucking sanguine grossed out over how debauched it was

>Sea Gods
sounds interesting anyone care to explain

>erasing Men isn't easy
If there's one rule in high fantasy, it's that every other species is fucked and humanity is destined to inherit the earth. I have yet to see any major franchise go in any other direction with the concept.

Well c0da ends with men gone and Dunmer inheriting a new world. But I'm not giving up hope.
If Talos and Remen are still kicking then they're not gonna let men die out, and adapting and surviving anything is kinda humanity's whole deal.

>I have yet to see any major franchise go in any other direction with the concept.
40k. It puts up an initial premise of a "Humanity, Fuck Yeah" type of situation, but in actuality humanity is deeply fucked and orcs and/or planet eating aliens are set to inherit the galaxy by every measurable metric barring Deus Ex authorship .

Redpill me on Argonian tits

Mario lore>everything else

I like the theory that the emperor is absorbing souls and that he's gonna come back super powerful and save the imperium

lizards irl and argonians lay eggs and have no need for breasts/milk which begs the question why do argonian women have tits. its a bit of a meme along with khajiit penises

filled with yummy Hist sap

Sure, but it's just a theory until it's actually written in ink. By all metrics of measuring any factions fucked level, 40k is a franchise in which humanity is not destined to inherit anything. Something that one song by Linkin Park or whatever.

what the fuck is this?

pretty sure argonians only lick hist sap when theyre born and it determines what theyll look like.

>implying Hist sap can't also fuck with human brains when injested
>implying Argonian females aren't Hist spies trying to seduce men into sucking on their breasts to control their mind
>implying the Hist isn't building an army of sexual deviants from other races for some nefarious purpose

You're outright fucking lying.
He didn't have jackshit to do with Skyrim and it was thanks to Howard and co that he was kept from going completely apeshit with the lore.

Jesus Christ, read some of his canned ideas (canned not by him, but by the company who actually understood that this was essentially pure retardation). You'll retract whatever you say about his writing being "good".

i know its just a theory but it lines but with established lore and since no one really knows for certain what emps is up to i like to think hes not down yet.

>He didn't have jackshit to do with Skyrim
>all of Heimskr's dialogue
>the Book of the Dragonborn (literally the first book you see in game)
>the Aldudagga
>Ysgramor and the Companions
>parts of the Black Books
All his creations
And that's just Skyrim, practically everything interesting in Oblivion and Morrowind (most notably the 36 sermons and Mysterium Xarxes) are his work.

Different types of Khajiit

this is too much for I cant handle it!

Yea Forumsump

i think he was good from morrowind-skyrim but his shit since skyrim has been so fucking stupid

How the fuck do I into 'Water is memory' and 'Orc Tits'? Almost 2,000 hours into Skyrim and I feel like I have learned nothing. I'm going to start reading the books more.

elves deal with massive interal squabbling, they also breed slower so humans are more cooperative and numerous

the dwarves add a nice touch to the lore with their technology and mystery

the gods vary in power, alot cant do much in the mortal realm, if they do too much the more powerful gods will put them straight, they also see the world as a game to be played and like to do things with finesse rather than just blunt physical appearance.

the MC is the MC so ofc hes powerful itd be shit if he wasn't wouldnt it you moron, its a game. the heroes are always powerful. its a big point of the game

I never understand why fantasy makes elves gestation so long

Lorkhan isn’t a demiurge he’s actually more of a Christ figure, he gets crucified by the other gods as described in Mankar Cameron’s commentaries. Kirkbride also appeared in some podcast that has like two thousand views were he’s drunk and high out of his mind bullying the other guests questioning why if Lorkhan is supposed to be dead he keeps showing up everywhere?
