My theory is it was Matthewmatosis who got the ball running with the DS2 critique video. At the time it was kind of a novel idea to speak about one seemingly mundane thing for so long.

It was Youtube changing their algorithm to giving money and attention based on total time watched, rather than videos clicked on.

I want to be a youtube reviewer/analyst but, like those in this thread, i’m extremely critical about existing reviewers and have been working for a while trying to find a system that is substantive, worthwhile and will actually generate clicks and be entertaining. I’m more of a “library of information” over an “entertainer” so the real struggle is balancing facts with humor without sacrificing substance. It’s fucking hard.

You guys have anybody you like? Maybe some pointers?
