Alien was a great film, if the sequel was the same story on another ship you'd call it predictable and a copy of the first. Aliens is the only way the story could have gone and still been original. There's a reason the first 2 films are held in high regard, there's been no decent sequel to either film in 30+ years. The only other alien sequel worth mentioning is isolation.

The first 3 films had similar tones and the technology all looked like possible future technology humans might achieve. Resurrection was set 200 years in the future but nothing looked too different but Prometheus suffered from making older technology look better than what was in alien. It turns out that part of the self destruct sequence is the release of hundreds of black boxes which document the events of the first film. Rutger decides to land, but they play it smart and have the mercs lead the way and not do retarded shit. After gaining entry into the alien ship they are exploring and the team with Jenna takes a new hallway which turns out to lead to a budget friendly indian all you can eat bufet where she gorges herself on spicy biryani and various curries then takes a giant runny dump directly into my mouth

I can't remember desu. I'm a massive alien/aliens fan so I've watched and read everything about them so it's hard to remember where I got stuff from. Think it's from the original DVD commentary, the blue mist keeps the eggs alive and also is kind of an alarm system, when kane falls in and breaks the light this wakes the egg closest to him. I believe the most is also why he says it's so hot, its keeping the area humid to stop the eggs drying out.

You just need to watch Prometheus and Covenant to understand why.

Aliens was one of the worst sequels ever made. It had none of the positive qualities of the original but had all of the features of generic scifi blockbuster.
Yes Aliens codified scifi action and has been ripped off more times than can be imagined but that is not because it is good but because it is simple and shallow with setting and characters easily replaced for a different IP

The purpose is to show above-human skills in Bishop (who Ripley regards as a threat because of her previous experience with androids, so we also suspect him and this gives us reason to fear him, which causes tension, suspense, etc.). Because you already know what the deal is, you forget how it was to first see this movie and may even have been spoilt before, and because of autism, you cerebrally cannot adopt another point of view (the reason why 80% of anons here fail to understand what everyone else sees as obvious).

It's also a fun scene and most people remember it. Not everything needs to have a concrete reason for anything beyond "it looks good". Every scene always does a bunch of things at once anyway.

Walter initiated the construction of a copy of the original Engineer-spaceships to conquer new planets, but is killed in the final battle on board.

However, as it turns out, the original spaceship from Covenant is still orbiting the planet - with the original Walter as her only passenger. The death of cyborg Walter worked as a kind of kill switch and awakes this older version (whose memory is snychronized). As darkness falls over the colony, Walter sets course back home - to earth - with promising news for Weyland-Yutani.

as it turns out, Walter is experimenting with the DNA of animals the colonists were carrying to their new home world, complete with bears and tigers.

Walter has created his personal colosseum where he is pitting predators of the old world against his own creations. Daniels and her fellow freedom fighters will pass this area on their way to Walter's lair. Followed by multiple xenomorphs (old and new designs), we will see incredible fight scenes between various pumped up animals and the Giger-designs.

As much as i love the original films, well the trilogy anyway. Maybe its time this franchise died.
