How many horror movies actually have no strings attached happy endings? The only ones I can think if are some of the Child's Play films, but even then you find out in Child's Play 2 that Andy's mom got stuck in the loony bin.

Really shows me how different my taste in movies is from other people when they say they like this cause its deliberately over the top or cheesy or funny.

No, I genuinely first took this 100 percent on the surface level as a serious horror movie and thought it was great.

Really I think I'm closer than the truth. It's not Evil Dead 2 or some shit. It's way more grounded and the movie clearly does try frequently try to treat what's going on with dramatic weight and realistic consideration of what it would be like to be in that situation. It's meant to be tense and you're meant to be sharing her dread like its happening to a real person. Some bits also being funny doesn't undermine that.
