it's surprisingly ok. everything else that's part of that franchise is pure fucking trash and an insult

This was very good. I remember very little of it, just that it stood out as quality compared to the douzens of horror movies I watched at the time (from the same time period).

Does it have to be horror? If yes, this.

It's from 2009 but feels and looks like 1979. I know people who thought it was from the 70's.

Based. Great soundtrack too

vera farmiga is fookin joocy

It does what every great horror movie should do: keeps the jump scares to a minimum (so you appreciate them more when they do happen) and crank up the atmospheric dread to 11.

Atmosphere of unease >>>>>>>>>>> spooky fast quick cut of badly CGI'd monster

The Babadook was fantastic when it focused on the barely contained dread that seemed to emanate from the book scenes, which were by far the scariest part of the film.

Idk when this movie became a meme for how slow and terrible it was. I watched it in 2010 and really liked it. It was an entertaining hour and a half or whatever.
It’s not a summer blockbuster or a franchise. With horror movies, “enjoyable” is a real win.

Also all the music and her walkman are from the 80’s so idk where you get 70s from

This. Feels good to read patricians on this board.

>Idk when this movie became a meme for how slow and terrible it was.
I try not to care what becomes a meme, especially here, since many autists can't understand or appreciate anything except for turning it into a meme.

I liked how slow it was, because it made you "wait for it" for fucking long and the pressure keeps building and building. Almost some kind of enjoyable torture. I liked how it did things differently, and the whole late 70's, early 80's setting, cameras, hairstyle, etc, felt like a time capsule. That alone was impressive.

sneeding of a ghost

The Conjuring was fun to see in theatres, I really enjoyed it. it gets shit on a lot here tho

Why this picture?

Also, if anyone can tell me the context of this cinematic cumshot, I am curious.

>reminder that if you think sperm on face is debasing, then you believe your own sperm is somehow bad and a disgrace instead of an honor

I was about to quote you with a basedboy face but then I realized you are right

disgusting picture

>underrated

I'd say most people consider it to be one of the greatest horror films of the decade, not really underrated in it's genre at the least.

>I'd say most people consider it to be one of the greatest horror films of the decade,
I have never heard anyone say this, but it is deserved.

Based

>it's a harmful demon doing spooks without harming anyone until the finale
*yawns*

I liked this one in Found Footage style. It's possibly my favourite FF movie. It's very solid and very English.

i did like it quite a lot but the ending was a bit stupid
you have to crawl specifically right into a 5meter worm to be eaten

Outta my way, inept pseuds

Doesn't that make it more terrifying? I didn't remember it was 5 meter

something like that, just pretty small, but overall still just dormant and lying in wait until dumbo people enter on their own

Many creatures make a living this way, though. I liked it, though I agree it's peculiar. It makes it worse, in my opinion, precisely because it's "so dumb". Didn't expect it.

There were a few great moments in The Conjuring.

>the blanket forming the shape of a person
>the witch jumping from the wardrobe
>how frequent the paranormal activity was - it really felt like the family were getting barraged with ghost shit
Good flick desu

Ah, the ancient year of 2013. They don't make 'em like that anymore. It was a simpler time...

Unironically the worst movie ive ever seen. Its like they set out to make the most soulless and unoriginal movie possible, absolute fucking garbage.
