I was on the fence with the movie until the happy go lucky backyard teen motorball league hops in their party van and heads out of the scrapyard to find the berserker body (that was originally alita’s that she lost somehow) that’s just sitting undisturbed in an active piece of ancient advanced technology that somehow never got scrapped/scavenged/salvaged in 300 years, despite clearly establishing people are free to come and go as they please from the city.

Like holy fuck how does a movie literally miss every possible mark like this. Half the point of the scrapyard in the manga is it was basically a prison city that no one could leave unless they enslaved themselves to Salem suicide duty.
