why are you comparing these scenes?
you think people can't feel what's happening to them while their mind is elsewhere?
you've never been half asleep and had your dream incorporate whatever sounds are going on nearby?
you've never dreamed about pissing and realised you actually need to piss?
>you've never dreamed about pissing and realised you actually need to piss?
That was like 20 years ago

Then Coop dismisses her bullshit for what it is, and she goes to the planet where her lover is and finds out that hes dead and buries him in a shallow grave so...

She was correct, but at the same time if they went their they never would have been able to help the people on earth so I don't really fully get the movies message.
She was right, dumbass
In Nolan's defense, he didn't write Interstellar - the script was written with the intent of Spielberg directing, but then Spielberg dropped out and WB was left scrambling to find a director. Nolan offered to plug the hole out of a combination of good faith (having worked with WB in the past) and the promise of being able to make more movies with total creative freedom regardless of budget with them (like Dunkirk).
It's why there's such a stark dissonance between Interstellar's cheesy script and its typical Nolan directing style.
