It’s like taking a bunch of horrible ingredients into a blender, and somehow getting a strawberry milkshake.

But it was terrible, especially with the ghost doctors ending

>is somehow one of the best found footage horror movies ever made

yeah because FF is almost universally garbage and this piece of shit is no exception. Utterly embarrassing thread and most likely made by a zoomer.

>it's a 'ghost teleports everybody to another dimension so there's zero chance for escape' episode
Yaaawn. Why are almost all found footage movies so garbage? REC still seems to be the best one by far

You should see Lake Mungo if you haven't.

>One of the best FF ever made
Not even close, but it was entertaining and likable. I'm a sucker for time fuckery and impossible spaces as well so it hit the right buttons for me.

Anyone seen Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum? It's supposed to be similar, but has way better reviews and is one of the highest grossing horror movies in Korea.

I was pleasantly surprised by it. It doesn't do anything particularly new or ground breaking but what it does it executes well. One of the more solid FF's, would recommend.

Quick rundown on what makes it good?

I have no idea. Just saw that it exists, that it has good reviews and made a lot of money. I try to keep from learning too much about horror movies I want to see before watching them so I can go in as fresh as possible.

>Cloverfield

Everyone on Yea Forums that actually watches horror movies has already said that Gonijiam is a grave encounters rip off setting wise but it's executed 10000x better.

The jump scares aren't cheesy, there's a particular scene in a dark room that's so incredibly made, I haven't seen that kind of build up in horror before.

What makes the hospital scary is also alot better than grave encounters,

Seriously, go watch gonijiam, it is so much better than grave encounters.

I will try, user.

Alright, it's on the list. I was a little hesitant after what little I'd looked at strongly reminded me of Grave Encounters, but I can see how someone could take Grave Encounters and want to do it 'right.'

Troll hunter was a nice surprise

The version I saw of this had extremely bad subtitles so it made the movie into a comedy, still enjoyable with a few jump scares

I think the fact that it's a korean movie helps it when you're a western viewer. You kind of sub-consciously attribute any weird or iffy acting and mannerism to "it's probably just how koreans are like", so it's less telling when the actors under/over-react or do weird things. Well-made film though.

>Gonijiam is a grave encounters rip off setting wise
is it though? i remember watching a goosebumps episode thats pretty much the same setting that came out before it. m.imdb.com/title/tt1838352/

wtf, why isn't R.L Stine suing them all?

He really seems like more the type to be glad he inspired other people to make spooky stuff.

Is Creep 2 any good? Can't see it working as a sequel so I'm guessing it's a new guy and setting?

I had the same thoughts as you going in, just saw it and decided to gamble on the strength of the first one, but it's a pretty damn good movie. It's from the perspective of a college aged woman with a YouTube channel devoted to 'real human experiences,' where she seeks out bizarre people and tries to make an authentic connection with them. The guy from the first movie finds her channel, and reaches out to her. Anything from there would be a spoiler, especially since it goes in a lot of very unexpected directions.

...

it's pretty good
