They couldn't get permission so they did kino re-enactments from a high level guy who had a falling out with Scientology and then went back after the documentary was made.

It's more in his "style", it gives a different perspective as he recreates the "hole" with actors and it did a good job of portraying just how strange and uncomfortable the techniques were. It also has him as a fairly unknown guy (they did start investigating him when they caught wind of the project) being stalked and confronted in real time.

Who Took Johnny? on Netflix scared the fucking shit out of me. The Kitty Genovese one is pretty good as well. Cropsey and Killer Legends were OK but I mainly enjoyed them because of interest in the subject matter. I don't know how interesting they'd be to people who aren't into that sort of thing.
