What happened to exploratory science fiction?
What happened to exploratory science fiction?
"Too nerdy"
the same thing that happened to science fiction
Ent Refit > Ent-A
FACT!!
People are more interested in exploring infinite genders than space these days, which corresponds with decreasing IQ and education institutions in the West having a massive drop in mental quality.
It died with Stargate Universe. We have The Orville now, but I don't have any faith in the Orville bringing the whole genre back. I'm happy with just that though, just let me have one light-hearted, episodic space exploration series and I'm good.
A better question is, what happened to television in general? TV seems to have turned to shit around 2011-2012
After 50 years, it died of boredom.
>orville
100x gayer than star trek ever was even during that episode where riker almost bangs an androgynous alien
All Western culture declined around 2009
>What happened to exploratory science fiction?
it stayed the same. star trek was always some kind of american mcdonalds sci-fi, absolutely dumbed down for kids and filled with fantasy-objects and terms to make up for the lack of actual scientific knowledge.
if you actually enjoyed watching spacedads cruising through the universe in their living rooms sofas, then you are not into space or science fiction. you are into men playing pretend.
> Orville
an entire episode about trans aliens
an entire fucking episode. just no.
>being a pretentious hard sci-fi fag
Not surprising you use Game of Plebs reaction images
Star Trek was never good sci-fi
Borderline fantasy half the time
Comfy show but character work is its strength far more than science fiction
I guess you could say it’s really soft sci-fi
EXPLOSIONS SEX FIGHTING SWEARING SECRETS OOOOO DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH
Space exploration TV makes white people want to explore space. Then they spend money on exploring space and not on feeding Tyrone and Shaniqua’s 7 kids like they should be doing as reparations for slavery.
Star Trek literally had an episode about a third gender.
>What happened to exploratory science fiction?
It was too expensive and it's hard to find good writers to make interesting scripts and characters.
It's coming back though (webm).
people found it too easy to shoehorn their political ideology into everything.
>what if current event but with aliens
>also my side is the right side your is bad abloobloo
>What happened to exploratory science fiction?
Did you want to say 'imperialist' and 'colonialist' science fiction, comrade?
Big Mamma didnt miss too many meals
>It died with Stargate Universe
Damn I miss that show. The whole strange structure in the cosmic microwave background was such a cool concept.
