The Number 23 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's not even good in a bad way. It's just bad.

Videodrome gives me the willies

Borat
Hard Candy

Funny Games and Cannibal Holocaust are pretty hard to watch for me. I can't stand extreme and uncaused human cruelty even in fiction.

I watched Booksmart with my gf last week, fuck me that was hard to watch, what a fucking load of shite.

Very apt description of that clusterfuck. Also holy motors is very hard to watch

agreed, what a fucking letdown after all the hype

I cringed all throughout "The Hunt", very uncomfy and extremely plausible situation.

>Borat
Okay, (((you))).

The Eyes of My Mother is pretty gruesome. Not very gory, just a study in psychopathic cruelty.

HAHA LOOK AT ME SHIT IN TOWEL AND EMBARRASS MY HOSTS I AM SO FAHNNY

Keanu Reeve’s Knock Knock

GIMME THOSE PRETZELS GRANNY

The Collector

Depends on how much do movies affect you

Excellent choice. Deeper movie than expected too.

Norbit
Holmes and Watson

Genuine cringe is harder to stomach to me then gore.

>Cannibal Holocaust
This, although I'm not sure if it holds up well. But it was the rawest piece of cinema my 10 year old self could ever hope to see.
The turtle scene fucked me up the most for some reason
Has anyone seen Salo and/or Caligula?

I miss that feeling desu. First film to have an impact on me in such a way was Predator 2. Particularly the "fockin voodoo mogic mon" scene.
Last movie to even come close was Hereditary, and I did everything in my power to buy into the setting.

>The turtle scene fucked me up the most for some reason
That scene is fucked up since it was areal turtle and not a prop.

Hereditary is the ikea equivalent of filmmaking, for a lack of better adjective

I know, but that should only come as a testament to how bad things really are.
Give me a film made post-2015 that is scary or disturbing on any level.
>inb4 It Follows
shit

To be fair, I think it's more of a societal thing then anything else. I'm sure even the worse horror movies today would have scarred peoplein the 60's and 70's. People now are just too desensitized since the internet makes it so easy to see genuinely fucked up shit. I may be browsing a random thread here and see a webm of a real decapitation, it wouldn't even make me flinch.

The Turin Horse

probably not what you are looking for, but technically fits

Attached: file.png (770x1079, 1.25M)

Climax on theater is a 10/10 experience

Paradise: Love

You're right, but I still believe there are fundamental, universal ways to scare people, that are beyond any conditioning and desensitization they might have.
Obviously you have jumpscares, but I'm not talking about that. A particular blend of things that's set up just right, so you feel uneasy.
Uncanny valley, low frequency sounds, etc, all tools that you can use to stir up some fear in the audience.
Nowadays I find myself more engaged with abstract horror than anything else.

That movie is fucked up

You're not wrong.
>tfw I imagined that was my mom
Very uncomfortable

There's a pseudo-documentary feel to it that makes it seem like you're watching a recording of real happenings. Pretty fucked up, I agree, but we can still go deeper.

scare/spook horror doesn't really scare people beyond a very superficial fight or flight response we may have towards it
the real horror comes from real or pseudo-real stuff like documentaries which talk about things we either can't understand or can understand but are completely unable to control

Begotten was worthless garbage if that's what you're looking for

There was a black and white horror film made not too long ago with a bunch of guys who had a musqueteer/boston tea party aesthetic to them.
I think it had something to do with a buried body, but I'm not sure since I never watched it, and lost the title.
Anyone know what I'm talking about? Had an almost Valhalla Rising vibe to it.

Vulgar was the most uncomfortable a film has ever made me.

It isn't. It's a misguided commentary on violence and sadism in media and it's kinda bad at that. Would not recommend, but I don't feel like elaborating on that right now so feel free to ignore me.

A field in England ?

imdb.com/title/tt2375574/

Salo is kinda shallow as a commentary, and it is not nearly as vile and disturbing as people want you to believe since those type of movies have come a long way since the 70s.
It is little more than an exploitation flick masquerading as an arthouse film basically.
Caligula is a lot of fun. Strong recommendation.

That's the one. Thanks.
Is it worth a watch?

No problem, has been a few years since I watched it, wasn't shitty and as expected quite trippy, but nothing much else I remember from it, worth a watch I'd say.

Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom
A Serbian FIlm
No Child of Mine
The Last Jedi

Amélie

Stalker(1979)
good luck staying awake

yeah the rape at the end made me sick when i was a kid. saw it recently and i thought it was kinda hilarious and pretty tame.

That reminds me, has anyone here seen "Heartbeat In the Brain"? It's a documentary about a crazy woman who thinks she achieve a higher being by drilling a hole in her head, so she made a documentary abput using a power drill to make a hole in her skull. I remembet reading that audience members at its first showing actually fainted. I usually don't buy tibits like that but in this case I would believe it. Shit like that horrifies me.

Begotten should be appreciated more from an aesthetics point of view.

Cabin Fever, Six String Samurai, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

>saw it recently and i thought it was kinda hilarious and pretty tame
It's funny as that scene and a few otbers got the director arrested. People who saw the film thought they genuinely murdered the actors and he was arrested and tried in court for making a snuff film.

Funny Games

i enjoyed holy motors but following what the fuck is going on is definitely a chore.

My (current) GF's sex tape. It makes me feel sad

ouch

t. buttmad southerner offended that his kind got dabbed on for 3/4 of the movie.

If you liked that, watch The Day After. Then imagine you're Reagan screening it before it came out.

Where the Dead Go to Die
Sickeningly degenerate, badly animated, harsh musical score, and Labby's creepy voice.
My son had me turn it off after 10 minutes.

Is the book any good?

Salo is kinda boring. Caligula is pretty awesome. Cannibal Ferox is more what I expected Cannibal Holocaust to be.
