Looks like hot garbage
>From the director of Independence Day
I'm going to go see this, because I love WWII movies, but I'm not expecting much from it.
cant be any worse than pearl harbor
>He hasn't seen 2012
It definitely can be.
Why doesn't he get more/better roles, bros?
>conservative Christian White man working in an industry ran by Satan worshipping pedophile Jews
It’s a mystery user.
too classically beautiful. this guy would’ve been a megastar in previous decades
>based patrick
yeah I'm thinking it's kino
Chinks hate Japs, so, specially with Pearl Harbor shit fueling, hatred against Japs is always welcome for chink bucks. Always remember: the US did this to themselves to have a reason to go to war, the waters were Japanese and they warned numerous times.
Tora Tora Tora looks way better than this shit
>because fuck chinkbux
Chinks hate japan
>the waters were japanese
what did he mean by this?
>Directed by Roland emerich.
It's trash
>Washington's wrong!
FUCK DRUMPF
he's not blowing up new york at least
>from the director of INDEPENDENCE DAY
closed the trailer, fuck emmerich. i knew that opening air raid looked too shitty for a big budget picture
A movie on Midway would work a lot better as a thriller with the SIGINT guys trying to figure out what the Japanese target was and then baiting them into attack by sending false messages about midway running out of water filters and shit. The actual battle was won because an American squadron got lost and then ended up over the imperial fleet with their pants down and bombed the shit out of them. A better topic for blockbuster action would be Leyte Gulf, literally the largest naval battle ever and the first kamikaze attacks.
what video game is this?
Based boomer kino. How badly do you think the theater will smell lads?
>Pearl Harbor was a intelligence failure
What? They let it happen
As long as they don't have Japs firing at civilians, which was proved to be false as all civilian casualties were actually friendly fire, like in Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor I'm ok
I keep reading that the Japs actually sent a card telling them they were going to attack but got mistranslated or something, is it true?
youre dumb. learn history pleb.
Cant let the people figure this out. What if they start thinking the governement deliberately let bad things happen to their citizens as a pretext for war?!
Leyte Gulf would be great, especially the Last Stand of the Tincan Sailors. Would they show how big of a fuckup Halsey was though?
Why do you think the Chinese would give a fuck about the naps?
Supposedly they also sent a "we surrender" letter before Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but also got mistranslated
Some people claim it wasn't "we totally, for sure, 100%, unconditionally, surrender, for realz" so that was it got ignored.
I like the idea of it but that looks like the type of movie that gives me a headache, I may have to pass. Transformers gave me a real dozy.
>because fuck chinkbux
Chinks hate Japs, the fuck are you talking about?
this, the real story about Midway wasn't the battle itself but the leadup with the intelligence being put together to allow us to know ahead of time it was going to be a target, the battle itself was just a tedious back-and-forth with losses going both ways until some American dive bombers showed up high just as the Japs were all down low mopping up the last of some torpedo bombers and those bombs landed on flight decks full of planes just fueled and loaded with bombs
For real he looks like Paul fuckin Newman
its turns out the japs were really the good guys who were just reacting to the oppression of white christian males.
>Freedom was under attack
Why are Americans always so retarded
>patrick wilson
Yeah, im thinking im watching this
i think it was that japan wanted to openly declare war but the japanese delegation overseas didnt want to get fucked up so they didnt hand it over to uncle sam
>roland emmerich
no thanks
So its basically Dunkirk but shit, I feel sorry for based Patrick
He's fucking great in Fargo S2
If any of you clueless fucks want something to pass the time with watch
youtube.com
speed it up to x1.75 or x1.5 or something.
It's a good (though not quick) rundown of Midway from the nip pov that takes into account the dilemmas the commanders had to face and the options they had to choose from in the heat of battle.
It's really . World has moved on from these sorts of actors unless they're Tom Cruise.
It wasn't a dec of surrender, it was
>hey guys we're fucked and know it and you know it and you can fuck us even more and we know it but we're gonna try and negotiate anyway for a conditional surrender even though we have no leg to stand on
based americans for seeing through this fluff and trickery and nuking their way to an unconditional surrender.
>Always remember: the US did this to themselves to have a reason to go to war, the waters were Japanese and they warned numerous times.
oibuei!
remembaru da nipgorirrion!
>NOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST DROP NUKES ON GLORIOUS IMPERIAL JAPAN THAT'S SO EVIL!!!
>destroy the Yorktown 4 times instead of other carriers
They arr rook the same!
No thanks, military history is fucking tedious outside of the greater political context or pesonal tales of survival. No one outside of a military academy needs to know the minutia of which commander ordered what ship to fire on which enemy position at what time
kek, look at the piece of shit us of a has become, your time is coming, faggot, at least change your diapers
It was evil...the lesser evil though
>It was evil
"No!"
>Midway
>In between Japan and USA
WOAH
>the waters directly around united states sovereign territory (full fledged US states, in fact) were japanese
Hmmm...
mainland Japan wasn't really a place you could invade from a practical perspective
they literally would've fought to the last man's dying breath for the emperor
>6 gorillion actual casualties this time
>This is a good ol' fashioned american hero story action movie
>pic related is just chink propaganda
Main plan by Einstein and Oppenheimer was to drop the nuke near a city, close enough to scare the shit out of people but far enough to not kill many. Army wanted lots of casualties though to test the effects and to show the Russians.
So yeah, there were other plans than just invade or nuke them.
Don't know it feels more like a trailer for a videogame, looks like a CGI fest
Yep. Looks like Pearl Harbor 2: Jap Boogaloo
>Einstein
>Nuking Japan
Nice fanfiction weeb
>the US did this to themselves to have a reason to go to war, the waters were Japanese and they warned numerous times.
You understand this is retarded right. If you have territorial disputes the ones with the bigger guns wins. And America had bigger guns.
It was more moral to nuke Japan actually. Because if they didn't the Russians would start another war for territories in Europe. Them showcasing the power they had saved more lives than you could ever nuke.

Wow colour me surprised
>midway
>we get to see a bunch of devastators get chewed up by zeros again and again and again
americans are such horrible pilots lmao
calm down, Xu
shut up, shill. Quit stirring shit
Finally. We got white people in movies. Now we have divercity. Now we have social justice. Based Hollywood. Am i right my Alt Right Warriors?
Or you could just read Shattered Sword, since that is what literally every video on the IJN at Midway uses as their main source.
>Reviewers often criticize Emmerich's films for relying heavily on visual effects and suffering from clichéd dialogue, flimsy and formulaic narratives, numerous scientific and historical inaccuracies, illogical plot developments, and lack of character depth.[42][43][44] Emmerich contends that he is not discouraged by such criticism and that he aims to provide enjoyable "popcorn" entertainment to movie-going audiences.[34] Stating that he is "a filmmaker, not a scientist", he creates his own fiction based on actual science or history to make the messages he sends "more exciting".[45] He is a collector of art and an active campaigner for the LGBT community, and is openly gay.[3] He is also a campaigner for awareness of global warming and human rights.
they all looks alike though
Is that the movie where the surly american rips off his 'i fight for china!' patch?
> Directed by Roland Emmerich
Dropped like a hot rock.
based
Looks really dumb
"Midway" describes the length of effort everyone put into this.
I literally just bought a book called Shattered Sword that is about Midway from the Japanese perspective.
I just bought the Audible version like 4 days ago.
>When our FREEDOM was UNDER ATTACK
Come the fuck on dude. Midway was about who was going to dominate the Pacific for the next 100 years and you know what? Im GLAD it was us. It doesnt need to be about freedom. We can just go take something because we WANT it. Theres nothing wrong with that.
Congrats, you just bought the best book about the IJN there is. After this go read Kaigun: Strategy, Tactics, and Technology in the Imperial Japanese Navy, 1887-1941, Sunburst: The Rise of Japanese Naval Air Power, 1909-1941, and Japanese Cruisers of the Pacific War.
What's the matter
I like you
gotta give the goys a bone every ounce a a while BE PROUD of your self betrayal goys...hehe
I actually read a book about this for a colllege history class once. In preparation for the coming war, the Japanese government had their Washington embassy destroy all their code machines, save one, and they only kept the one so they could deliver the declaration of war to Washington just before the attack, within the hour. However with only one machine the embassy took too long to decode the message and the Japanese ambassador had to deliver the declaration of war hours after the attack instead of just before like was planned
Sure thing weeb.
it worked on boomers but it doesn't work on post-boomers as well as they think it does, not after we obviously got played after 9/11
>Patrick Wilson
Yep, I think it's kino
kek
Hawaii was not a US state in 1941 it was a US territory.
Looks like another movie that gets air combat completely wrong.
cause he sucks
Looks like a repeat of that last Pearl Harbor film, horrible d-level action flick. Pic related is a solid movie and Tora! Tora! Tora! is top notch.
no one is great in that pile of shit kys
Rev up them patriotic feels. This movie is for the dumb American public to prep them for war, not for us patrician Yea Forums kinoseurs.
I chuckled
>all the butthurt weebs ITT
Friendly reminder that FDR or whoever had absolutely nothing to gain from not alerting Pearl Harbor about the attack. Also, Japan attacked US and allied holdings across the Pacific December 7th, not just Hawaii.
look at how much money government spends on the military
if you think a couple of sjws can stop that....
>french marshal
>red uniform
It's not even hard
Theres a plane seen flying less than 100 ft off the pavement while flying between buildings. It's hot garbage.
Sabaton is shit and so is this song
he's good in the Conjuring
Is this part of the Pearl Harbor trilogy? Whatever happened to the Japs in the end anyways?
im pretty sure the chinks will love seeing japs get blown the fuck apart on the big screen
>if they didn't the Russians would start another war for territories in Europe.
We wut
What are the best WWII movies? I want in on some good stuff.
Panzer Elite is my favorite them. Yours?
this CGI is SHIT
how is this possible in 2019 by a major studio?
Sabaton has more popularity in Poland than in Sweden, thus a quarter of their songs is about heroic Polemen.
I saw Patrick Wilson driving once and only then learned he lives in my state.
