What do you think could possibly be the Criterion #1000?
#1000
the simpsons season 11 episode 5 extended edition
i really doubt it.
How about Tron?
Greed (Original Director's Cut)
or
The Patriot
or
The Magnificent Ambersons (Unbutchered Cut)
or
The Day The Clown Cried
or
TAOJJBTCRF (Hidden Version)
Now that would be the day
Twilight
East Lynne
Sorcerer (1977) or Lost Highway with any luck
Das Boot or the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Faster Pussycat Kill Kill
Get Out
ghostbusters(2016)
Avengers Endgame
>The Day The Clown Cried
I thought that was already out.
It has to be Citizen Kane.
this or 2001
Unironically, Justice League: The Snyder Cut
I hope not
The original uncut Star Wars trilogy.
some feminist self-sniffing fart lgbbcql non-optional viewing piece.
I could see them doing an “Essential Arthouse Part 2” box set. I’m pretty sure the box sets get their own spine number.
Otherwise it’s gonna be Citizen Kane or some major-name release like that.
I doubt that they’re sitting on a lost film like Greed.
The Essential Arthouse sets have their own numbering.
trips and they release the Orson cut of Magnificent Ambersons
They already did The Magnificent Ambersons not too long ago.
Yeah, the 'normal' one( which is still a masterpiece). Now we need the film before the gardener of the studio did the dirty job.
Have they ever done a special release for a milestone in the past?
900, 666, 888 that I remember more recently
Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman
But they haven't even done Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein yet.
It's going to be the Grand Budapest Hotel
It would be a fine choice by a great american director who is alive and very active, plus would be filled with extras.
Still, it's too recent. I think it's a milestone that deserves more grandeur :)
of all the different groups on Yea Forums, plebs, capeshitters, weebs, patricians, found footage fags, nothing is worse than criterionfags. I actually went onto the Criterion subreddit once out of curiosity and if it doesn't make you want to throw up then please stay there permanently
> I actually went onto the .... reddit once
Go back.
fpbp
t. too poor to afford The Criterion Channel
Came here to say this.
Pain & Gain
I'm not even a shill. Never bought any Criterion, only countless downloads. But I admire the company and like to engage in discussions and prospects on their own canon.
>worse than capeshitters
I see
Mein nigga. Bay's masterpiece
>i doubt it
L'ascension du chevalier noir
Blade Runner or 2001. Maybe End of Evangelion if they're feeling edgy.
I'm about 99 percent certain Grand Budapest Hotel is #1000
The Fountainhead
House of 1000 Corpses
this is the way the criterion collection was meant to be experienced. looking at a rack of dvd/blu rays and trying to pick one means you'll go for something safe from a director you've heard of. having everything* at your fingertips means you can just start something up and find the really good ones instead of the ones you're "supposed" to see.
I saw the 400 blows years ago. didn't really like it that much. turns out the sequels are way better but nobody ever talks about them. although it's disappointing that the last "movie" is just a clip show/reunion special.
also I found out about sacha guitry by just randomly picking a movie. I decided I wanted to watch a movie from... france, and I wanted it to be from... the 50s, and from there randomly picked Le Poison. Sacha Guitry movies are delightful and I love his version of credits. In Le Poison he walks around the set personally thanking each cast and crew member for working on his movie.
I want a 4 hour cut of blade runner 2049
something that will be encoded more poorly than even a mill creek blu-ray
Give 37 examples
On the silver globe
They'll buy it off of mondo for a trillion $
>I decided I wanted to watch a movie from... france, and I wanted it to be from... the 50s
ugh the pretention..
Dirty Work.
it's how their search thing is set up. you can pick country and decade. it's good for plunging into a bunch of movies with foreign names.
Kane?
he's a big guy
For cinema
Big Titty Goatman Parte Deux
Should have stayed there.
What would be the most un-Criterion film they could do as a joke?
FPSP
Disney doesn't license out their films like that. Which is a shame because movies like The Straight Story will never get a proper bluray release, especially now with the streaming service. They should sell those off to people like Criterion, they would make more than just sitting on it.
Somebody has spent $30,000 on Criterion films
Yo, they should totally do Birth of a Nation
I would say apocalypse now, but they're releasing the final cut version in august so i doubt they would do it
>the latest war and peace release is 7 hours long
why is criterion so based?
so when will criterion start doing 4k?
Why is it so hard to Coppola not be a flaming faggot? Fuck your tweaks, old man. Just give the people the version that made everybody call the film great.
>cutting 20 minutes from redux
why not just release the uncut version? fucking jews
mwaaaaaaaa the french fries at the concessions stand...
In reality, it's closer to 5 hours. It's 4 hours and 46 minutes.
The 6 hour long cut of Love Exposure.
This but unironically
>$60 4K blus
"No!"
why do you give a shit about 4k?
Troll 1
>we made it up
this
Josie and the Pussycats needs to be legitimized as the finest example of early 00's pop culture satire.
this
4k is based
>The Magnificent Ambersons (Unbutchered Cut)
Doesn't exist
Birth of a Nation
based
Could they recut it like what's been done to Touch of Evil?
Why has this not been added yet? One of if not the greatest American film
It is an "important and classic contemporary film" after all. It does belong under Criterion given its cultural impact. I guess they're afraid of backlash. If there's one film that should be a Criterion release, it's Birth of a Nation.
The Library of Congress won't release it until 2024, as per Lewis' demand
They already did that with Armageddon. It's funny because it's one of their best-selling films apparently.
This
HottieBoombaLottie
both of these
There's a Blu-ray release of The Straight Story. Japan only. It's not even listed on amazon US, you need to go through either Amazon Canada or Amazon Japan
amazon.co.jp
amazon.ca
What the hell? I guess the jew fears the samurai after all
Predator
What's the problem, you don't like wax, shitlord?
Dick Tracy Director’s Cut
Private Life of Sherlock Holmes Roadshow Cut
>he walks around the set personally thanking each cast and crew member for working on his movie
basé et bleupilllulé
BETTER FUCKING BE DAWN OF THE DEAD 78 OR CRONENBERG'S CRASH!!!FACT!!!
That would actually be awesome but I'd go with pic related!!!FACT!!!
>Greed (Original Director's Cut)
>The Magnificent Ambersons (Unbutchered Cut)
How could they release something that doesn't exist anymore?
whatever OWNS drumpf the most probably
