Honestly, it's a damn shame the show got cancelled when it did. I get it, Capaldo couldn't stay on any longer thanks to the Three Seasons Curse, but could they really not find a replacement actor for him? Frankly, I'd have accepted Benjamin Cucumberthatch if it at least meant the show would still go on.
I just miss my romps in time and space, y'know? But of course, I also miss the old /who/ threads. They were pretty comfy, but alas they're gone with the show.
Still, could've been worse. We could have had a female Doctor, right?

Capaladi got his dream role but it was muddled up by overwhelming shit writing, he had his good episodes but the vast majority are only watchable because of his acting and his acting alone.
The new season is an echo chamber of progressive ideals as dictated by white women, it's not good Dr. Who it's not good general science fiction or fantasy

See it's not just the middle aged women honestly I had Matt Smith through my teens and it was all the quirky/tumblrina types loved him because he was lol so random and apparently good looking. I always liked David Tennant, he always gave an impression the doctor was a man who's returned from war and just wants to bring peace, but knows he has immense cruelty in him that's why he only gave one chance to his foes before he defeated them by unleashing his essentially dark side.

The way I contrast Smith and Tennant is that I feel Tennant's portrayal was just too human, whereas Smith was just too alien. Capaldi, on the other hand, he was just right.

See I already left by then I couldn't deal with Matt Smith and in the end watch capaldi's premiere and thought I'd come back in a few years and see if it's more my style again probably should have stuck around as now there probably can but the franchise on ice after the latest season, where I only watched the dalek episode (cant remember if it was a special or not) which was so awful I couldn't get past the first 10 mins.
